Great for families

Comfortable and welcoming home with plenty of space for a large family. Beautiful gardens and a wonderful stay.

Great place for a relaxing getaway

We wanted a nice quiet place in the country to get away for the winter holidays. We picked Coonabarabran as it’s near some great walks in Warrumbungle national park and great to see the stars at night. We also wanted a comfortable place to stay and Warrumbungle Retreat was great for that. Great space for the family and we could have even accommodated another family. Very cozy with the wood fired heater. Well equipped kitchen that let us prepare some nice meals. And a great yard to walk around and see the stars at night. To top it off, the outdoor hot tub was fabulous for relaxing in and soothe our tired muscles after a few good days of hiking. Would highly recommend Warrumbungle retreat to any one looking for a nice break in the country.

Amazing retreat in the Warrumbungles

This was a wonderful property to stay in - beautiful, comfortable, lovely garden, loads of space, and a great location. We loved visiting the Warrumbungles for the wonderful scenery and the amazing stargazing.

Perfect Country Home

We have stayed a couple of times at this property. It has plenty of space for a large family or two families. It’s warm and cosy. Beautiful outlook to sit on the verandah and chill. Great little spa to relax in after a big walk in the Warrambungles. Close to town and not far to drive to surrounding activities.

Good retreat on the way to the Warrumbungles

The Warrumbungle Retreat is a well positioned house, close to Coonabarabran (2km) and on the way to the Warrumbungles. The roaring fire greeted us on arrival and set the tone for our four night stay. The property description matched our experience of the amenities. We recommend this property.

Care has been taken to provide you with a nice home to holiday in, and I love welcoming respectful lovely guests to the house and surroundings. Our houses aren't new but they are very cared for and designed for country relaxation, comfort and peace. Most things are provided for you to enjoy your stay. If in doubt ask at time of booking. I have very eclectic style and love unique art which is seen throughout each place. I get a real buzz out of people enjoying the place. I hope that's how you will feel xo

Why they chose this property

Set on 2.5 acres with room to move around and share although private and peaceful, I love this property with the creek running through and the aspect, and the fact that it's far enough out of town to be tranquil but still convenient. The gardens are lovely and the tree canopy homes the many beautiful birds around the property. The house is very comfortable with a number of garden rooms and established shade trees and areas to relax make it a wonderful summer retreat. The hot tub, fire pit, indoor fire and cozy nurturing rooms make it a lovely winter retreat, plus the mountains are just down the road.

Peace and quiet on acreage. Beautiful, comfortable established home with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Wonderful veranda, expansive lawns to relax on a picnic rug, or play a game, outdoor dining area, heating, cooling, wood fire, fit pit, hot tub, 3 bathrooms, quiet rural neighbourhood on the road to the mountains, chefs kitchen, bbq, games provided, your reviews say "peaceful and quiet location, the only only sounds are birdsongs..." and "big 2 storey home with everything you need to be comfortable and cook your own meals" plus "love the hot tub" also "lovely property will definitely return".
