Gunbower cottage in Cohuna is a great place to stay with a group of friends. Plenty of space, Indoor fireplace, outdoor entertaining area with BBQ and fireplace, clean, lots of room for guests.
Would highly recommend and will likely stay again
We arrived late and were a bit lost finding the place in the dark - but Kate helped us out beautifully. The cottage is a cosy stay and I loved walking around cahuna, birdwatching and enjoying the clean, interesting town.
Lovely house, huge beautiful garden and everything you could possibly need. Close to town and lots of great spots for walking or canoeing in Gunbower Forest

Thank you Markus. So glad you enjoyed your stay at Gunbower Cottage and that it had everything you needed!
Good old house with everything you need for a couple, great if you have dogs as it is fenced and has plenty of room for them to run/play,
Open fireplaces were great but you have to source your own firewood witch could be a hassle for some people and also costly buying it in bags, we enjoyed our stay
We had a delightful stay at the very charming Gunbower Cottage. A beautiful, comfortable period home with lots to explore nearby. The fireplace was an absolute treat as was the fully equipped kitchen. The rain kept us out of the garden but it would be great to return in the warmer months to make full use of it. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Hi Gabrielle, we are so glad to hear you had a lovely stay at the cottage. We look forward to hosting you again during the warmer months so you can enjoy the garden too.
The house is spacious and nicely furnished and the kitchen is well equipped. The outdoor dining area was lovely, shaded under a big tree. The house is a short bike ride from the town centre. We enjoyed our stay.

Thank you Vicki, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Gunbower Cottage!
We holidayed as two couples with 5 kids aged 3-14, and a dog. There was something for everyone and the kids thought the house was amazing. It was much larger than expected from the photos and we assumed when booking that it was single bathroom, so we were very happily surprised to find two full bathrooms.

Thank you Penee - we are so glad everyone loved Gunbower Cottage - and yes we had a second bathroom put in upstairs last year. Thank you for reminding me to update our info so that everyone knows that! Kind regards, Kate
An absolutely beautiful property. The caretakers are so lovely. Stayed with our 4 children and will definitely stay again, the home has so much character. Thank you
This was my second stay at Gunbower Cottage, and just like the first time, it was an absolute delight. Nestled in a quiet, peaceful street and only a stone’s throw from both the river and some fantastic local eateries, the location couldn’t be better. The property itself is beautifully maintained and thoughtfully appointed — we truly wanted for nothing during our stay. Whether it was enjoying a morning coffee surrounded by nature or returning from a day out to a cozy, welcoming space, every detail felt considered.Gunbower Cottage has quickly become a favorite getaway spot, and I wouldn't hesitate to return again. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in comfort while still being close to everything this lovely region has to offer.
The property suited out needs as we were there with our dogs for the weekend. It has a large yard which was great for their exercise, entertaining on a warm evening, and space for parking behind the gate.
Suits a family with loads of space in upstairs medrooms if you have kids however the upstairs bedrooms would not be suitable for older (60+) people due to the stairs.

Glad you enjoyed the cottage and its gardens Jo. We actually had two couples in their 60s stay right after you and they had no problems with the stairs, although they are definitely a little steep and would not be suited to anyone with mobility issues.
I couldn't put into words how incredible this property is and do it any kind of justice. From the moment you drive down the leafy, covered entrance, you know you're in for something special! The house just exceeds expectation and I felt so spoilt wandering through the meticulously decorated spaces. It was almost like walking back in time, in the most splendid way. Location was quiet enough to relax, yet close enough to meet every need that we had.A special thank you to our lovely host for making our time in Cohuna so wonderful. It truly was so amazing. We will most definitely be back.
The cottage was lovely, beautifully furnished and the back garden was wonderful, our little dog loved it, we also had a carport for the car. There were many extra provisions provided for cooking. The floor boards were lovely and the heating worked well.
Interesting old house with lots of bric a brac and big dog friendly garden although beware of unfriendly dogs in the neighbourhood. Large attic bedrooms upstairs but divided by a non full height wall. Enjoyed our stay. Great for our adult family.
Warm and friendly house. Well equipped with everything you need. Very dog and kid friendly and the downstairs area stayed cool on the hot days. Kate was really helpful and responsive. Can't wait to return.
Great base for exploring the Gunbower area and it's surrounds
Perfect period cottage with large garden on the edge of town - a bit quirky but that's good. It's in a town street but the neighbouring houses don't intrude. Pub and cafe walkable. Inside and outside fires are a bonus particularly during the unseasonal cold snap we endured. Just one bathroom might be tight if all the beds are occupied but not an issue for us (just a couple). A nice stay.
Gunbower Cottage is a beautiful mixture of old and modern Australia.
From the gorgeous decor inside, to the lovely rambling gardens outside, everything was perfect.
Highly recommended.
Peaceful, gorgeous setting, practical & perfect for our whole family!
Everything our family, including our dog could ask for! Close to downtown and such a lovely, handy spot. Stunning, property rich in history & style. Thanks very much!
