About this property

Triangle Farm Cottage - Bed & Breakfast

Triangle Farm Cottage is located within beautiful farming land close to the village of Jindera. The cottage is well appointed and has a secure yard and under cover parking. It has a well established garden with large shade trees and a quaint cubby house in the grounds.
The cottage has three bedrooms, a queen, a double and a single. The living area has air conditioning and both gas and wood heater. All rooms have ceiling fans. The kitchen and bathroom are also heated. A hair dryer, iron and ironing board and washing machine are provided. The kitchen has a full range of appliances and utensils, a full stove and oven and large fridge/freezer. The pantry is stocked with a range of essential items and a variety of teas and coffee are provided. A barbeque is provided and an outdoor setting for enjoying the garden and open fields.
A stay at Triangle Farm Cottage includes breakfast items that are sourced from the local area. We subscribe to the 100 km food challenge, trying wherever possible to source produce from within a 100km radius. We have our own hens, the pork for the bacon is grown locally and cured by our butcher. Mushrooms are grown locally and any fruit and vegetables we try and source what is in season, locally. Apple juice is from the Beechworth area and the relish is made locally here in Jindera, the honey is from Glenellen, just down the road. The muesli we prepare and bread is sourced from the Milawa bakery or Nord Swedish bakery in Albury.
The cottage is only 2 km from the village of Jindera which has many amenities including a supermarket with liquor, chemist, bakery, butcher, post office, bank, take-away shops, pizza, a coffee shop and hotel with bistro.
The village is also home to the award winning Jindera Museum, a collection on 2 acres displaying the living and working conditions of the pioneers of the district. It incorporates the original Wagners Store, the home of the store owners furnished in the style of the period, an authentic slab hut, a wattle and daub cottage, a blacksmith and wheelwright shop, a gallery and extensive machinery and horse drawn carriage collection.
Jindera is also within 16 km of the city of Albury and it's Victorian sister Wodonga. Within close proximity is the Hume Weir, well known for it's boating, skiing and swimming activities. Also within the local area are many wineries, great food adventures, snow skiing and the renowned Rutherglen wine district.

Old farm cottage surrounded by green pastures was a holiday in itself. Exceptional hospitality from Margie. So many fresh local products to use for breakfast. Would definitely recommend a stay here

Great place to stay
Margie the host has thought of every possible thing. The breakfast items were fantastic, a fully stocked pantry for all the spices sauces. The location was great the amenities were great, nothing but praise for how Margie the host presented the property. Could not fault a thing.

About the host

Hosted by Margaret Wehner

Host profile image
I am the owner of the property which was purchased by my grandfather in the early 1900's. He was the local blacksmith, as was my father, with farming their main enterprise once the need for blacksmiths became obsolete. I continue to run the farm so am usually in the vicinity of the cottage daily. There are several workers that will also often come and go throughout the day, depending on the time of year and activities required.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in our family for three generations. The farm is a mixed farming activity with sheep and cropping and until recently, cattle. It is a working farm so farming activities may be conducted during your stay. It's proximity to the village of Jindera makes it an ideal holiday area, close to many amenities and activities but in a beautiful rural location.

What makes this property unique

In the middle of a working farm; a beautiful rural location in which to relax and unwind but close to all amenities and activities.
