About this property

Cute 1 Brm unit, walk to the beach, With great Sea Views.

Hear the sound of the waves! Amazing sea view's from the open plan Kitchen, dining and lounge. Close to the beach only a 2-3 minute walk to beautiful Cable Bay with it's golden sand and children's playground. 3-4 minute walk to the Shop/Cafe/Takeaway, they also have yummy ice cream's on the cone. Kitchen has a full sized fridge/Freezer and stove (not a modern kitchen) The unit is below the house. Short drive to Coopers Beach shops, Mangonui village. and Taipa. Around a 20 minute drive to beautiful Karikari peninsula, 30 min drive to Kaitaia. It is completely self contained with a shared washing machine with one other unit, just outside. (No real outside area, but close to the beach) The bathroom is dated, but fully functional. This is not a modern flat, bedroom doesn't have a window, but vented via the door.

Special Conditions:-
Smoking allowed outside only, but be considerate to others.
Linen (included); Cleaning - please leave the property clean and tidy as you found it :)
Guests must adhere to the number of guest booked in, extra guest will not be tolerated, without prior consent.
Parties are not allowed as it has other tenants close by and noise should be kept to an acceptable level, with the noise level reduced after 10.30 pm.

Neat little flat

We had everything we needed for our stay; a pleasantly equipped space, peaceful and very close to beautiful beach and famous icecream shop. Easy on-the-ball communication with owner and helpful local “caretaker” too.

The host lived far from this place so no host. I would not recommend this place to anyone. When we arrived the place was dirty and smelly. The frig and stove didn't work properly. Everything there was cheap, even the shower curtain was like paper. This was a bottom unit so we could hear everything from the one above us. Not worth the money at all. It's a dump.

This guest previouly owned a motel and was very critical and never communicated, didn't respond to txt or phone. The fridge works fine, just needed a light bulb which was replaced. The stove had one element that would only work on high, which has been fixed. She got the accommodation for a very affordable price. Wouldn't recommend her as a guest.

Well appointed bach close to Cable Bay

The property was small but well appointed for me and my two children. It was perfect for a beach getaway. The kids enjoyed the TV and DVD player and the close proximity to Cable Bay beach. The bach had everything I need to prepare meals and cook plus lots of thoughtful touches, like the line outside to hang wet beach towels and togs and the library of DVDs. Lyn also called me before we arrived and made sure I had all the information I needed, which was really nice.

Weekend retreat and couple of fish caught too!

This bach made an ideal relaxing fishing retreat for the weekend. Great location, right near the beach and the takeaways and just a short drive to fishing spots. The owner was very helpful and welcoming and it was straightforward to book. Thanks for a lovely weekend.

Great location for ocean beach swimming

Didn't realise it was a block of flats with no outdoor living, it was great to be able to take the dogs but we had much better accom in Mill Bay at a similar price that was pet friendly. The bedroom had no window which wasn't the best. However it was clean, tidy and adequate and a short walk to a great swimming beach which we didn't have at Mill Bay.

A two minute walk to the beach, good dairy/cafe an easy stroll. Sea views from the window. Not the Ritz but then it didn’t claim to be. Clean and comfortable, semi detached but unobtrusive neighbours. Definitely would use again.

We wanted a comfortable property as a base while touring the top of the north island

The property is in an excellent location There is no outside living which we missed The property is basically 3 units and unfortunately (for our peace) both were tenanted and one of them above us was quite noisey on pine ex floor boards The inside and amenities overall were good, clean & warm. No windows in bedroom which we missed. Lyn’s communications were very good. It is unlikely we would stay there again although the price is a fair reflection of listed things.

It's a disappointing review, as all of the issues Steve had were clearly stated on our description, Unfortunately we had guests upstairs (for one night only) that didn't abide by the rules of keeping he noise down.. We don't have wooden floors upstairs, we have carpet. I did phone and text Steve several times with no response.

Cable bay

Great communication with the owner was key made us feel very comfortable. I especially liked she catered for my 2 year old with a high chair and toys, i would rent again because it was nice and clean lovely location to catch the sun and just a short 1 or 2 minute walk to the beautiful beach and park. Thank you for having us and hope to be back sometime soon

We live on a farm just out of Wellsford and I used to holiday at cable bay when I was a child and loved the beaches their.

Why they chose this property

We have just purchased this beautifully located property and wanted to enjoy it, so rather than rent it out long term we have decided to do it as holiday home for everyone to enjoy including ourselves.

What makes this property unique

The property is elevated, so you get more sea views, but it is very close, so you can just walk to the beach for a swim or just to folic around.
