This is a beautiful old house, in a very pretty area. If you enjoy Japanese architecture this is a great place to stay. Our host went out of his way to make sure we felt accommodated and offered to take us to the beach and and drop us to the train station.
This traditonal 100 years old japanese house could have been one of the most amazing places, if the owner would take so time to keep it clean and caring about surroundings. Yes, it looks fantastic on photos, but as soon as you open the door to the house it smelled stuffy , the kitchen and kitchen tools were greasy, the old bath rooms was not clean. And it felt like that the shampoo were left overs from past guests. The fridge was not cleaned, and there was old food in it. The cupboards were filled with tons of irrelevant porcelene. There were not one clean pan or pots. But the old handmade wooden rooms are so beautiful and the house deserves more respect and a "facelift". we give it 1 star, because it is very overpriced considering the condition metioned and the fact that it is off road and not a tourist mekka. It if was priced 1/3 the current price it could have 2-3 stars.
Supermarkets , espcially ME YOU is very nice and close by.
