About this property

Fishermen Friendly . . . On the Trail of Tears. . . 5 Miles to Dayton Boat Ramp!

Offered by RockyRidgeResorts.com is this quaint, remodeled, concrete block farmhouse, built in 1947 on Dayton Mountain in Tennessee. This property was in the same family for more than 100 years and is part of approximately 15 acres of forest and farmland. We have installed outdoor electrical outlets and lighting to work on your fishing rig. Plenty of parking room for truck, boat, and trailer! We like fishing tournament participants and have added features that you need.

Watch deer feed just 30 yards from your window, listen to birds sing, and see many woodland creatures frolic and play on the forest floor. Close to Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, there are so many attractions that we can't possibly list them all. Hiking at Laurel Snow Wilderness Area is free, as well as Fall Creek Falls State Park. Day trips to Incline Railway, Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and Blue Water Resort Fishing Tournaments, are just a few of the nearby attractions. NON-SMOKING PROPERTY. Cleaned and Sanitized for you.

We have made changes since Covid, to help keep everyone safe and healthy. We have taken measures to ensure that our property is as healthy as possible and, by the very nature of occupancy and check-in and check-out, you will not interact with any other guests. The reason is . . . . . At our Mountain Farmhouse property, we only have one set of guests at a time. no hallways or occupants in the room next door, you have the option of pure privacy. Our Farmhouse is thoroughly, professionally cleaned, disinfected, and laundered after every set of guests leave. We are pretty much isolated from everyone nearby, out in the woods, having no really close neighbors, and we have no knowledge of ANY type of virus or illness in our immediate area. We will continue to use good cleaning and sanitizing practices, and follow CDC guidelines, as we always do, because it just makes good sense to keep family healthy. Please relax and enjoy your stay.

ALSO - We have two cabins on VRBO. Properties are numbered 2608733 and 2736764. Use the numbers for easy search on VRBO. Book your stay today!

Dayton fishing trip
Convenient location to the Dayton boat ramp about 10 minutes away. It was perfect for a fishing buddy vacation. Air conditioning worked well, kitchen was well equipped, and the charcoal grill worked well too. We enjoyed our stay.

Tournament stay
We stayed at this property for a high school bass tournament. We had two truck and boat combos with us the parking was a little tight for two but doable. There was ample lighting and electrical hook ups to work on gear and charge the boat batteries. The owner was friendly and had lots of interesting stories. I would stay here again.

A semi-retired professional couple, my wife and I developed this property as a mountain getaway. The property is rural, fairly large and heavily wooded, and we also have a home on this land, not too far away from the Farmhouse. We split our time between this property and our homestead residence in Florida.

Why they chose this property

Mostly wooded, this mountain retreat has some of the freshest air you will ever breathe. Wildlife abounds here and a fairly large family of deer feed here twice daily, most days. Hike down to Tigues Creek and see the remains of Indian Mounds and other forested places near the creek. After dark, you won't believe how many stars you can see up in the night sky! There are trails on the property that you can hike comfortably and visit the old wishing well, see the prospector's shack, and maybe even get a glimpse of the old moonshine still that revenuers chopped up a bunch of years ago! Good shoes (preferably boots) long pants and a good hat are suitable attire for the trails.

We get a lot of professional fishermen here, that participate in tournaments, such as "BassMasters". We understand what they need and have provided outside electrical outlets and switchable lighting to charge your rig and do the prep work either after dark or before dawn. Many like the privacy that our place provides.

What makes this property unique

Centrally located near Nashville, Chattanooga, and Knoxville, there are numerous attractions close by that offer a variety of interesting day trips. Just down the road is the fabulous BlueWater Resort, home of luxurious camping and some of the biggest and best fishing tournaments anywhere! Go to Ruby Falls and Rock City, visit Incline Railway. Hike the Laurel Snow wilderness area (FREE) or visit Fall Creek Falls State Park (FREE). Head to Music City . . . Nashville USA or try the many attractions in Chattanooga. Visit the Old Courthouse in Dayton, where the Scopes Trial was held. The Native American Culture abounds here with Museums, preserves and other attractions.
