Place was as advertised

The house was very clean, the property manager was very responsive, and the walk to the beach was only about 6 or 7 minutes. I would advise against going with the linen option, though, as the bath towels/wash clothes provided weren’t very high quality. Overall, a great experience!

The pool area was big and plenty of chairs (a few more loungers would have been nice). We had a family of 12 adults and 4 little ones and it was plenty big and comfy to make memories for a lifetime.

The house was comfortable, nicely decorated, in good condition and had nice extras. We really enjoyed the large pool, hot tub, pool table, big decks with hammocks and plenty of chairs and the outdoor shower. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had lots of supplies and the three refrigerators and two dishwashers came in very handy for a large group. The pathway down to the beach is just a few houses over and a few blocks down. The only drawbacks were the grill (a very small "park-style" grill was not sufficient or easy to use for a big group) and we wished the Wi-Fi was stronger. The water pressure was great in all of the bathrooms, but the kitchen sink water flow could really use a boost. Overall, we really enjoyed this house and would recommend it to others.

OBX-tra Disappointment

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: OBX-tra is a nice home but we were disappointed to what we walked into. My child found sheets thrown in a closet that had been puked on. Disgusting!! 2 bedrooms had window treatments removed for cleaning. My son in law had to take rec room curtains to cover their bedroom window. My grandson had to take the bed blanket to cover the glass sliding door as no window treatments. I notified Katie in housekeeping and she had puked sheets removed, had missing bed sheets brought + bed pad. Drew, from maintenance, was amazing! A lower level bedroom, that my granddaughters were in had broken window latch. He came out and replaced. I also put a bulb at front door that was burned out. The "privacy" film on bathroom windows ,we found out, could be seen through. That said, my family enjoyed being together. We especially liked 2 dish washers and 3 refrigerators. Chlorine pool filter was in outside sink by grill. The furniture in living room and kitchen were very nice. There were plastic chairs on lower patio. When we went out to watch kids play volleyball, we realized that 2 of the 4 were cracked and unsafe to sit on. Bottom line- housekeeping didn't do their job. This house wasn't worth whatI paid. Next trip I'll be returning to Duck.

Don’t know that I can think of any downsides besides not being ocean front. But the walk to the beach isn’t very far and it’s mostly down a walking/bike only path which is nice. Love the beach in Corolla it’s flat with soft sand. It’s a further drive to some of the bigger stuff but the amenities in Corolla are great, plenty of shops and restaurants and the mini golf is fun! Would stay in the house and Corolla again for sure!

We loved the pool, it is larger in person, great size for our group. We were 13 people in total. Out of that we had 3 kids. Home was about 5 minute walk to the beach, we loved that. The home was cleaned well when we arrived. The street does not have sidewalks, that we were disappointed about especially with children. The kitchen did not have a cabinet or closet for items to be put away. It had open shelves and draws. Would definitely recommend investing in a closet. The home was missing a vacuum. With wood floors and again children, sand does get in the home even when we washed off our feet. I did call the rental company a few times and they did end up dropping off a brand new vacuum within the 3rd day of being there, very grateful for that. Two of the bathrooms did not have any storage with the vanity, that was frustrating, no where to put your toiletries. On the middle level there is a king bed room with a full bathroom attached. Then there are three other bedrooms that share one bathroom. So 8 people to one bathroom, that was hard. Overall, we were happy with the home but will look into a different home for next year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at this house before and loved being back. It's a great location and a great house for a large group. That being said, the master bedroom TV is failing and should be replaced and the kitchen sink faucet has seen better days. Our main issue was with the rental agency. As I said, we've stayed here before and communication was great, however this time when we arrived, after being told our house was ready, none of the beds were made and there were no clean linens. It took quite a while and multiple phone calls to finally get the linens dropped off and the beds made. The other issue we had was a large pile of trash left by the previous renters. It took 6 days for it to be picked up. We were assured daily that service orders were entered but no one showed so it sat festering in the baking sun for almost the whole week we were there. Imagine what that smelled like... not to mention the flies! I hope the rental agency steps up their game because their lack of urgency was very apparent and very disappointing.

Grill could be bigger just had to cook in shifts. It is within walking distance to beach but would be a little difficult of a walk with young children and carrying chairs so bring a wagon. We had plenty of room and would recommend staying here. Could use a few baking sheets. House was clean and found no problems. Had 3 refrigerators but no vacuum cleaner just brooms.

Look no further! This house is the ONE!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked this house on the recommendation of a friend, who stayed last year. The outside of the house is stunning, bright white with gray and navy blue accents. The interior was just as the pictures portray; clean, bright, airy and spacious. The rooms all had towels packaged separately for each guest. Also, they provided a small container of dish soap, individual hand soaps for the bathrooms and a small package of dishwasher and laundry detergent to get us started. We did bring 2 of our dogs and they left a cute welcome gift including a small flashlight, doggie bags to hook onto their leash and a collapsible water bowl. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you may need during your stay. The only thing that was lacking is there is no water dispenser on the fridge or filtered water pitcher. A pitcher would have been nice, as we could have avoided buying so many water bottles during our stay. Another thing that would have been nice to have are bath mats at the tubs and the sinks. We had to use bath towels to step on, which meant doing laundry a few times during our stay. The decks provided a great space away for a break. There is access to the decks from every room with the exception of the bunk room on the 2nd floor. The hammocks were so comfortable as well; they had both sitting and laying styles. We made the choice to have the pool opened a week early and luckily it was a warm week and we were able to use it. A heated pool would be a nice option, if possible in the future. The only problem we had was a tub that wasn't draining well our first day. I texted the management company and they promptly sent someone out the next day to fix it. We did have a toilet that clogged near the end of the week. I sent a text after hours, but no one responded. We only had 2 days left, so I didn't reach out again. Other than minor issues, this place was immaculate and met all of our expectations. I would not hesitate to book it again in the future.

Great House!!! Cleaning company, not so much!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Let me start by saying that this is a great house!!!! The issues that we encountered had very little to do with the house itself, except these few things. I got locked in the mid level master bedroom. The door handles have child locks on them, on the outside, and lock themselves. I had to have someone come down to let me out of the room. Also, there was a door knob missing on the ground level bunk room and the toilet seats slide to the side when you sit on them which makes you feel like you're going to fall in. More importantly, the cleanliness of the house left a little to be desired. There was a ton of fur under the beds, some of the beds looked like they hadn't been changed, the floors hadn't been swept and there was trash left in a few rooms from the previous renters. When we arrived, there was a white sludge swirling in the hot tub (sunscreen) and the refrigerator was set on "display" mode so it wasn't getting up to temp. We called the rental agency for the fridge and hot tub and they had it taken care of. I don't want to discourage anyone from staying at this house because it is really nice. Nicely furnished, very comfortable and welcoming, great pool deck and everyone in our party of 13 adults and 2 children loved it. The cleaning company just needs to do a better job.

Beautiful House

The house was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only complaint was that we paid extra to have the pool opened early and through miscommunication with the realtor and pool vendor this did not happen. The realtor did refund the extra money we paid, but it would have been nice to have the pool available for the week. Overall it was a great stay and we certainly would rent the house again if we decide to return to the Outer Banks.

The house was beautiful and well-equipped, and it was a short walk to the beach--just as described. We didn't realize that heating the pool wasn't an option, and it was mid-May so it would have been nice, but the kids still enjoyed it and the adults opted for the hot tub! Having two large tables along with the huge kitchen island was the perfect lay-out for our group. I'd highly recommend others to check out OBX-tra!

The beach house was okay for the most part

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The beach house was okay for the most part. Didn’t check in until almost 5:50 pm which was kind of ridiculous in my opinion seeing as the cleaning crew finished cleaning at 1:00pm. We waited around almost 5 hours for the inspector to come to the house so that we could check in. Upon check in the house was clean for the most part, the dishes pots and pans were dirty, the grass in the front and back yard was not cut and over 3 foot tall. One of the bunk bed rails were loose and extremely unsafe for the kids to sleep in. For a seven day vacation with the first and last day being a total lost seeing as they make you check in at 6pm on the first day and check out no later then 10am the last day. My family and I had a subpar experience at this particular beach and do not recommend anyone stay at this location.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: OBX-tra was such a great house! The two living areas was really nice and the main living area upstairs was gorgeous. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed. Everyone raved about how comfortable the mattresses were. The showers had great water pressure. The pool area was really nice with a great hot tub. We loved how close we were to the beach and how quiet our street was.

Perfect Beach Home
