This lovely Island Escape Condo is a upper level condo located in the prestigious Truman Annex. Not just another rental property! Location is everything.!!! Close to Duval.
Starting Jan 2026 , this beautiful condo will become monthly! Stays will have to be 28- 30 days. 10% discount for monthly rentals. Make plans to stay longer, relax or work remotely from paradise for a full month in 2026.

Our favorite room is the spacious covered deck that opens up from living room with ceiling fans, tropical foliage, dining/sitting for 4.
The Island Escape is a corner condo which allows for more privacy. The condo's parking stall is right at your front door and bike racks beside condo. Shipyard community pool is close and heated. Windows across the front of the condo let in lots of light and tropical breezes. No need for a car you can walk 2 blocks to Duval Street where you will find restaurants, shopping, night clubs and museums. Fort Zachary Beach is also close. You can rent kayak, canoe, or paddle board and launch on the beach. You can also picnic or grill in the park. Mallory Square where sunset is celebrated every night has local vendors and entertainment. Breakfast at Blue Heaven, visit Hemingway's House then have a drink and enjoy music at the infamous Green Parrot Bar. Visit the Historic Seaport District where you can watch boats, find great dining or catch a sunset cruise.
Check out the Waterfront/Splash Park just behind the complex. Playground for kids, walk the pier at night to watch sunsets, entrance to Fort Zachary Beach and much more. You are close to everything!!!
This condo is also our vacation home. We take pride in our condos and want our guests to relax and feel as if they are in their home away from home.

Great getaway

Loved our stay. We’ve stayed in this area before and really enjoyed coming back. This one bedroom apartment was perfect for me and my husband. Loved sitting on the porch the most.

Love this place

Great location!! Great property!! Comfortable and quiet. Excellent communication from owner. Updated and loved sitting on the patio!! Kitchen doesn’t have any staple foods for cooking so make sure everything thing you need if you plan to cook.

Lovely Time in Key West

We’ve been visiting Key West for about 5 years now and have always wanted to stay in the Truman Annex. We had such a lovely time being close to the fun being that this property is about a 5 mi Ute walk to Duval. Even with it being that close, it was the quietest place we’ve stayed over the last few years. Our hosts were very communicative and offered up a lovely place to Stay. The Annex is beautiful and is lovely to walk around on its own! Added bonus was the chilled pool - what a treat that was after a long walk or coming in from the beach. Would love to stay again !

Perfect Key West condo ◡̈

Everything was perfect for our week long stay to celebrate our 30th anniversary! Location, location, location!!!! Close walk to all of the fun on Duval, and yet a super quiet condo to come home to at night! The back deck was our favorite room, perfect for coffee in the morning, and breezy nights taking in the tropical vibes!! The condo is a perfect size for 2 people; the pool is a gem that we enjoyed every day; great parking; the grounds are beautiful; condo is clean and welcoming. We would 100% stay here again on our next trip to KW… Jean was super quick to respond to us also. A+ stay.

Private and Secure

Location and condo was amazing. We were only a few blocks from a lot of offerings such as music, bar, museums, and more. We rented a golf cart for a few days. The assigned condo spot is right out front of the door though the neighbor had been using our spot because it was close. Not to worry we met such an amazingly nice gentleman who apparently happens to be on the condo association board who gave us an alternative spot to use. Just like anywhere in Florida plan for mosquitoes!

Beautiful Island Escape

The Island Escape condo at the Truman Annex was perfect. I was vacationing with friends who were staying in another unit in the same complex. It was very convenient that we were both located in the same complex, and the condo was also very conveniently located to everything we wanted to do in Key West. The one bedroom unit was clean and well equipped with everything I needed for a one week stay. I especially enjoyed the back patio. The owner / property manager provided plenty of information and was pleasant to interact with. Our group usually comes to Key West once per year - I will definitely be looking for the same unit again next time.

Even better than before!

This is the 3rd straight year my wife and I have stayed at this property and it only got better this time. We love the location, the proximity to an excellent pool in the condo complex and the quietness of the environment so close to the bustle of Duval Street and the Green Parrot Bar. Why was this year even better? The owner further improved the furnishing with a new bed and some new porch furniture. One of my favorite things about the property is the spectacular covered porch....I spend as much time as I can there when not out and about. In short, the week here is a highlight of our ywar and we hope to make next year number 4!

Very lovely place and excellent location

I spent a week here and would definitely stay again. Hosts were very accommodating and communicated well. The pros: -great location - no need for a car -condo was very very quiet. Neighbors were also very quiet and the complex overall was very peaceful. -awesome pool - it’s salt and was heated. Plenty of lounge chairs at the pool. Many other properties skimp in this area which is always a deal breaker for me. -awesome deck -very nice kitchen and washer/dryer appeared brand new -really good price vs value. Minor improvements and this is just being a bit picky: -as another review stated the one bedroom needs a black out blind. The east rising sun will be waking you up at 6:30am -a few options for pillows would be welcome since preferences vary. Again I highly recommend this property and would stay again. I almost did not take the trip due to the high hotel and Airbnb prices due to it being peak season. Thanks to VRBO the price and value made this trip a reality.

Great apartment, great porch, great location!

We recently spent a very enjoyable week at the Island Escape Condo in Key West. It is perfect for 2 people. We started every morning with coffee on the porch, as well as relaxing there other times and using the electric grill one night for supper. Tip-fish market near Half Shell Raw Bar has great seafood. The pool and the proximity of Fort Zachary Taylor Park made it easy to go swimming nearly every day. The Eco Discovery Center is close by and free! The location allows for walking to both Mallory Square (quiet walk thru the Annex, busy walk on Duval), and slightly farther to the Southernmost Point. Head out on Southard street and you can get cafe con leche at the small grocery across from the Green Parrot. Further down, check out the Coffee and Tea shop, The Cafe (nearly vegetarian) and Mangia Mangia (homemade pasta). For small plates with a great ocean view, try Louie's Upper Deck (south end). If you are in the mood to pamper yourself, try Isle Style on Simonton. I highly recommend this condo!

Perfect getaway

We loved the property! It was super clean, convenient, and excellent parking. We loved the covered porch for coffee in the AM and cocktails in the PM. We had some confusion about the parking permit, but Jean responded promptly and it was cleared up immediately. She was always quick to respond to any question. Our only suggestion for improvement is to provide more wash clothes. We did laundry 3x just to have clean wash clothes. The bed is VERY firm, which is a matter of preference. If you’re not used to that, it is very uncomfortable. My wife slept on the couch after two nights to avoid the discomfort. The last few night, I figured out how to leverage the pillows to alleviate the discomfort. Again, that’s a preference issue. Overall, the place is perfect for a couples get away.

Great Stay in Paradise

The unit was clean, exactly as pictured and described. The standout feature was the large balcony with a spacious, comfortable patio table—perfect for enjoying peaceful mornings with coffee and breakfast while listening to birds in the trees. The kitchen was well-equipped with coffee maker and full refrigerator. The in unit washer and dryer was an added convenience. Centrally located, the unit was just a block from the Duval Loop bus, making it easy getting around as well as sightseeing along the way. Jean was responsive and helpful throughout the stay. Highly recommended, and would gladly book again.

We absolutely love staying at Quaint Island Escape. The condo is clean, well taken care of and comfortable. It has a lovely covered balcony. We spent a great deal of time at the pool, which is wonderful. Within walking distance of just about anything we wanted to do. The host is very communicative.

We absolutely love this Condo! It is very clean and has the amenities we enjoy. It has a beautiful balcony deck to sit and enjoy. This past week it rained a couple of days and I enjoyed reading a book out there. So peaceful. The complex itself is very well, very quiet and perfect for us. We spend a lot of time at the pool. Jean is an amazing host and has taken very good care of us!

Truman Annex in Key West is the best

My husband & I enjoyed a week long stay at this gem of a condo that was very clean, spacious, decorated adorably & felt like our own home away from home in paradise. We loved the location as we walked everyday everywhere but also drove several times to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, which was an ideal beach. We enjoyed the pool at Truman Annex & the new friends we made. Hopefully, we will be able to return to this unit soon.

About the Owners: When not in Key West my husband and I live and own a power sports business in Kansas. We have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. We have owned in Truman Annex Shipyard since 2001. We love to travel and use Home Away/VRBO for all of our travel accommodations. After visiting Key West a few times we fell in love. The tropical feel, people are having fun and relaxed, lots to see and do. We knew we had to own. It is a pleasure to share our condo with others so they can also fall in love with this beautiful historic city.
