Very beautiful house and yards. The kids highly enjoyed all the rooms. Very clean and kept well. It had a very cozy home away from home feeling!

Communication with host was excellent and she responded very quickly. Impressive looking home, but it has seen better days. Could be maintained better. If you need multiple bedrooms and bathrooms this could be a good choice. Just don't expect a well maintained building!
The house was very spacious with plenty of bedrooms and open areas. Some rooms could benefit from updated beds and cleaner carpets, but overall it offered a beautiful backyard and lots of room to spread out.
We were there for over 25 days and we were very satisfied with the accommodations. The host was very responsive to our needs.

The home is very spacious, so it's great for a large group. The outside look of the home is superb, but the inside needs some work. If your group is planning to cook, this is not the place for you due to the lack of fully stocked cooking equipment. But if you're going out to eat, it is a fine place to stay. The owner was very responsive when the air conditioning broke down, and she had it repaired by the next day. We would be happy to return again.
The home was excellent! Just as described, and all listed amenities were included. House a/c couldn’t be found, but window a/c units were more than helpful in keeping the house at everyone’s desired temperature. The property is centrally located and close to Downtown McAllen that it made getting around very easy! Definitely will stay again sometime!
Stayed here with members of my family aged from 40 to over 80 years old. Was a great place to gather and visit. Some things are dated and worn but overall a good place for us. There is a step down into living area and master room which could be tricky for anyone with mobility issues. A lot of the beds are small but all were comfortable. Felt safe for the entire stay.
The home look like it wasnt cleaned properly between guest, still items in bed sheets, some trash in the house, kitchen utensils not cleaned but put in cabinets, only 2 towels per bathroomsBeds were comfortable, the house is old and needs basic items fixed like wall plugs in kitchen and bed rooms, for the price of the home if it was cleaned properly before we arrived we wouldn’t have had any complaints

Spacious but dated
The house is very spacious and is listed as an English Tudor home however, the house needs some maintenance.
The communication with the property manager was great. The home is outdated and in need of general maintenance. The home was huge and suited the 10 men that stayed there. Fortunately, a few men brought cots as the beds were too small to sleep two men comfortably. The home worked for us. However, the lack of general maintenance on the property could lead to unexpected problems on your visit.
Our extended family of nine were in McAllen for a funeral. When we arrive the house was 87 degrees. We turned on the ac while looking around. It never did cool down. There are broken light fixtures, large stains all over the carpet, walls, and linoleum . Outlets were broken, the dishwasher and washing machine were completely rusted. The refrigerator was falling apart and smelled rotten. The bathrooms were very bad. Again just falling apart. Originally the host was in communication with us but when I presented the issues to all communication stopped. We were there under extremely trying times. We needed a place of refuge not a place of disrepair. I urge anyone considering this property to go elsewhere. The pictures are completely inaccurate. I hope this review will help other people avoid the disappointment.
While the house was very spacious it was very dirty especially in the kitchen. We had to clean it. We were unable to get the owner to come and address issues. She still has not responded to my email. Very disappointed with her.
Stunning home. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Great for a large family or many friends. Stayed her for a wedding and my friends and I stayed ger comfortably. Definitely would return.
Sylvia is a good host and screens her guests which I understand and appreciate. The home, though dated, works well for a group of 5-8 who like privacy or a larger group with more sharing of space. The master bedroom actually has two bathrooms attached to it so if all bedrooms are full, a bathroom upstairs will be shared. Ask Sylvia to turn the AC on for you prior to arrival because the home is large and in the Texas heat it takes a while to cool it down. The fridge does not have an ice maker. Our group were all older folks who enjoyed their stay which was affordable and pleasant. Being able to park in the garage or behind gate is super convenient. It was cleaned prior to our arrival but the cleaner used on the tile floor left it tacky under shoes. No a big deal but noticed. The home is from the early ‘80s and is designed as such. This is not a luxury stay and that should not be expected at this very affordable price however, it is good for larger groups and folks who don't require upscale lodgings. We were happy and would book it again.
Late notice booking and affordable price. The house seems to be very traditional, there are several imperfections throughout the house but it made a great place for a large group of people.
