About the host
Hosted by Jack Nielsen

My mother and I purchased this property, in the late 90's, after travelling many times to Latvia. At this time properties were reality cheap compared the rest of Europe.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the area and the people.
This house came up for sale, it was very basic, with an old fashion well, and bucket for water, and a very old stove for cooking.
The property was purchased for 1500 lats (2000 Euros), the property incl 2.0 ha of farm land, After complete renovation of the main house, and complete building of the barn, including building our own Septic tank, drilling for water down to 50 metres, and rewiring, the property is ready for holiday lets.
What makes this property unique
Fresh clean water.
All you can general hear is the bees and birds, complete peace.
Surround by nature.. In the summer months there are plenty of storks about, both nesting, and walking around the fields.
