Downstairs spacious room w/FP & large windows overlooking river accommodates additional sleepers on queen bed + 3/4bath. Washer/dryer. NO SMOKING. NO PETS. Best for up to 6 people. High bank waterfront, not recommended for young children, but we let families decide. Many families with children of different ages have stayed without incident. We just want to use an abundance of caution for the safety of the young ones. BUSINESS DETAILS for renting this property. Clicking "BOOK IT NOW" starts a 24 hour time clock to complete rental arrangements. Girls trip

I can’t say enough about Riverfront Retreat!! The kitchen was well stocked, beds and furniture were comfortable, the property was gorgeous and oh-so-private. I recommend Riverfront Retreat for a family, or for an intimate getaway with your loved one(s). Donna is an exceptional host.

Great time

Thank you Donna , This is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Longview and surrounding areas. A quite location with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our stay and would do it again if the opportunity presented itself. Home was exactly as you see it.

Birthday Celebration

Our family of five over 70 yo brothers and sisters got together in our original hometown for a trip down memory lane and this house was perfect for our needs. Relaxing River view, spacious accommodations, well stocked kitchen, bed and bath amenities all fit our needs. Close to town for great restaurants and touring. Couldn’t have been better!!!

Everything was as advertised. The property was clean and accessible, and in a very nice location. It was well equipped and our stay was pleasant and enjoyable. Makes us feel like we got our moneys worth. We very well may be back again.

Private, quiet and peaceful while having the big city life within 30 minute's drive.

Everything very clean and fully stocked, especially the kitchen. Plenty of clean towels, bedding, etc. Games, deck, BBQ, Internet, TV's w/satellite, access to the river (not for the unsure footed). This place is so quiet and peaceful. A few neighbors nearby that can be seen when driving in, but never saw or heard any of them during the stay. It was also only 5 miles to I-5 where you can drive 30 minutes to Portland/Vanc area or 2 hours North to Seattle, and many towns in between.

A truly peaceful retreat

We wanted to stay somewhere quiet in a natural setting and Peace of the River was that place. A wall of windows on each floor looks into the trees, making us feel as if we were living in the canopy. The sound of the river was a bonus. The owners, Donna and Len, provided detailed check-in information well in advance. There were instructions on using everything and the numerous switches were helpfully labeled. Kudos to the owners for promptly and fairly resolving an issue we had upon check-in. It wasn't the best way to start our stay, but Donna was on top of everything and made things right. The cabin is spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable. Larger parties have space to spread out over 2 floors and 2 outside decks. We grilled out and even had a fire in the fireplace one night, which made things cozy. Due to the remote location, I recommend stocking up on groceries before arrival --the small store in Kalama is pretty good, but has limited selection -- and plan their activities accordingly, as it's a long, winding drive to get from the cabin to the I-5. Cell phone service may not work; we couldn't get any cell reception with Verizon until about 10-15 minutes from the cabin (towards I-5). The WiFi, however, worked great. My rating should be 4.5 stars, because the only issue is, as others noted, the decor is lacking and furniture is quite dated. It didn't detract from our stay, but with some creative flair and new furniture, this place could knock it out of the park!

Fishing on the Kalama

This property is on a great piece of property located on the Kalama River. The property sits high on the road overlooking the Kalama River. The property is a bit tricky finding but the property owner does a great job providing specific instructions. The house has 2 bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the main floor. The bottom floor has a full bathroom and a converted living space turned into a giant studio. The house is furnished with the basic needs in all rooms. The house is dated with its furniture, decorations, and technology. If you are looking for modern times furnished pieces and smart TVs....this is not your place. We were happy with this property and working with the property manager was great.

This place was wonderful!

My husband and I with our brother and sister in law stayed here for the week. It was the first time brother and sister in law visited the northwest.the quiet and peaceful beauty of the property along with the comforts of home the house has was perfect for us. The house has plenty of room to spread out and still be cozy and comfortable. Sitting on the deck with the river flowing was the perfect way to relax.. none of us wanted to leave.

Like a Tree House on the River

This house was located on the bank of the Kalama River, a steep bank. We loved looking out from our downstairs bedroom and seeing the river and trees. Very peaceful and insulated from neighbors. It was not a modern house, but we like that. We loved having the fireplaces and had a fire going all day and evening. It was a wonderful place to celebrate Christmas and my wifes birthday with my two sons.

Serenity!

It has been 3 years since our last stay here but the place is as wonderful now as it has been before. The entire group enjoyed the charming location and all the amenities that come with. Definitely recommend if you want to disconnect and get away from the city while taking the time to just relax and enjoy your time in this location.

Almost Perfect

Our only concern was that we could not get 2 of the 3 TVs operational. (both on the main floor). It would have been helpful to have instruction on how the remotes work.

Yearly gathering!

We girls get together every year and just celelbrate us. This year we wanted to float the river. The Kalama River was great but it would have been a tiny bit higher a bit earlier. Made going down water shallow rapids a little rough on the bottom. : ) Good time otherwise.

Tree house like home

The home is much larger than it looks. Its like living in a tree house because you are completely surrounded by trees with one going thru the deck! Very secluded & great for relaxing & a base for going to southern end of Mount St. Helens. Homeowners were very accommodating. Signs throughout the house about conserving water were a little intimidating but probably necessary for larger groups. All in all very nice place:)

Another restful getaway to the river!

This was our second (and likely not last!) visit to this lovely property. Sitting on the deck and listening to the river go by just really helps you take a deep breath and just relax from the daily grind. The kitchen is complete and well-maintained, and we made plenty of meals easily. On one of the days we were there, the temps hit 100 degrees and wildfire smoke hazed in, and that day we were quite grateful for the AC and WiFi. There's a local playground park and trails a short drive out, plenty of state parks within an hour drive, and if you forgot anything, it's just 25 minutes to Target and restaurant takeout. We all had a great chance to unplug and unwind as a family.

Peace of River weekend

Quiet & peaceful

This property has a lovely view through the trees of the river below. We loved sitting out on the shady deck. It was so quiet and peaceful, the perfect place for a getaway with friends. Donna was easy to communicate with. There's a fun watering hole for swimming a short walk across the one lane bridge and then down a steep trail (there are ropes to hang onto). The only negative was that all 3 beds had mattresses that weren't very comfortable.

Great house, great location!

We really enjoyed our stay. With 2 living areas, our kids could play on the Xbox (ours) in the evenings and the adults could hang out upstairs. The back deck was great…coffee every morning and beautiful scenery. Just a great place to relax and close enough to drive to one of the many fishing holes on the Kalama River. One evening we went to the Columbia River and hung out…all very close by. We would definitely book this house again!

Yes, this is the place you want

Near the end of her life, my grandmother was clear that she did not want a typical service upon her passing. We decided to gather family and celebrate her life here. Everything about this place is amazing. The pictures don't give the view justice. The house is spectacular on the inside and outside and it was a perfect spot for us to gather and reminisce about Grandma and all she meant to us. The owner was also very responsive and helpful. Trust me, you want this place.

We LOVE the quiet natural beauty of this area and we find it a very restful get away from our hectic chaotic lifestyle plus we enjoy the modern & comfortable lodge-like feeling of this home. When we are here we go 'off schedule', reading, napping & watching the 'river parade' and doing whatever suits us whenever we feel like it.

Why they chose this property

So many of the homes along the river are jammed together but this great place sits on over 4 acres, is nestled in the trees and feels secluded and private.
