Spa opening as early as Nov 15! Relax in a private hot tub, sauna + cold plunge, enjoy the cozy loft cinema, then unwind by the double-sided fireplace. In warmer months, enjoy the private canal-side slip, free kayaks, canoe, paddle board and a one-min stroll to the sandy beach.

Welcome to our family’s custom-built, high-end A-frame cottage on a peaceful channel near Lake Erie. Cross the road and over a dune to reach a secluded beach on the edge of Long Point, the world’s longest freshwater sand spit.

Designed for family getaways, not parties, POPPINpines offers the perfect balance of comfort, connection, and outdoor fun.

Our family of 5 adults and 2 kids absolutely enjoyed our holiday at this beautiful family friendly cabin. The beach access only being a 10 minute walk down the road. The cabin kitchen was well stocked and user friendly. It should be noted that the water we believe has a high iron content and would not wash personal whites and don't be surprised by yellowing on supplied white towels after showering or washing hands. We also suggest that an inventory check list be available on arrival so one can confirm what actual is there and confirm this on departure. Being told and charged for towels after our stay was really unfortunate and no recourse.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback, Barry. We’re glad your family enjoyed the cottage, kitchen, beach area and your time at Poppin’ Pines. Because the cottage is on a well, the water is filtered but can still contain some naturally occurring minerals, including iron. For that reason, we professionally launder our white linens off-site and ask guests not to wash white towels or personal whites at the cottage. We also provide reverse-osmosis drinking water in the kitchen and through the refrigerator. Regarding the towel charge, our housekeeping team documented seven premium 100% Turkish cotton bath towels missing after checkout. We contacted the group first and asked everyone to double-check their luggage in case they had simply been packed accidentally, we didn’t hear back. A few other cottage items were also unaccounted for, but we did not charge for those. The reimbursement request was limited to the missing towels. We do appreciate the suggestion about an inventory list and have now added a simple linen and guest-essentials card at the cottage showing exactly what is provided at arrival and where towels should be left at checkout. We take a lot of pride in the details at our family cottage, including our cotton towels, linens, kitchen textiles and other guest amenities, and we appreciate feedback that helps us make the experience even clearer and better for future guests.

Fantastic!

Well, as promised, we returned to this fabulous property for another getaway. We absolutely love it here! The property is great! The neighbourhood is great! You can bring your boat down for a leisurely cruise, or go fishing, as there is a channel right beside the cottage. Justin was incredibly helpful, and quick with a response, if needed! We'll be back again!

Perfect for Families Who Love to Play, Thoughtful Touches & Cozy Comfort

Everything here is designed for comfort. The brand-new beds with 100% cotton sheets were a dream after a long day outside, and the plush towels made it feel like a luxury stay. The kitchen had everything we needed, which made cooking super easy. We also loved the dedicated desk space in the master bedroom—I managed to sneak in some quiet morning coffee from the espresso machine and catch up on emails before the day got busy. The location is unbeatable too—being able to walk to the beach and have direct water access, with kayaks in the back yard for the kids made this a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.

Poppin Pines

Beautiful family home! Lots of privacy and space. 2 ovens and a dishwasher making meal prep for a family so easy. Well stocked kitchen. I would advise if you are bringing your boat to talk to a local about navigating the channel...Justin is a really great host...and should be very proud of his beautiful family home...

Our family has been staying at this cottage every year since 2021, and it’s always a wonderful experience! It comfortably fits three small families — ours, my sister’s, and the grandparents. The layout is well thought-out, the bathrooms are clean and spacious, and the kitchen has everything you need for a comfortable stay with a larger group.Over the years, the cottage has seen many thoughtful upgrades. One of our favorite features is a cozy netted area on the second level — perfect for keeping an eye on the kids while enjoying a cup of coffee or playing board games downstairs in the dining area.The location couldn’t be more convenient — just a short walk to the beach, which is ideal for grandparents or families with young children. The beach itself is fantastic: shallow areas make it safe for little ones, but deeper water is easily accessible too.We’ve celebrated birthdays and special milestones here, and every year our kids ask when we’re coming back — it’s truly become a cherished tradition for our family.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage this past weekend. We had such a wonderful time! They have thought of almost everything, which made our trip so comfortable and easy. We especially appreciated the beach chair, s’mores sticks, and the kids’ toys stored in the shed and under the stairs. The canal for docking our Sea-Doo was perfect, and we all had a great time out on the water. We particularly loved the downstairs bathroom and shower, and it was so convenient being within walking distance to the beach. The extra towels and mini toiletries were a thoughtful touch, and the netted feature upstairs was a big hit with the kids!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay! The property exceeded our expectations and was just a stone's throw away from the beach, two delightful local ice cream shops and a few yummy food trucks. The cottage itself was impeccably clean and spacious, offering plenty of games and outdoor activities that provided us with wonderful entertainment during our downtime away from the beach—such a delightful surprise!
