We arrived in the dark and had some problems finding the ranch. It would be very helpful to have several signs after the initial sign for the ranch at the road. Bryan and Melissa met us at the cabin, gave us a good overview, and were very helpful in answering any questions we had.
For those of us that appreciate rustic farmhouse decor, this cabin was very charming, throughout each of the rooms. There were many creative, artistic touches!
In addition to the refrigerator needing to be replaced, there were several small things that need attention in the cabin.
Because this was a working vacation for us, we needed to get online, and we were able to get internet connection. We were able to get on our Zoom meetings with no problem, and maybe because we have Verizon service, we were able to get phone calls and text once we put the password in our phones. Streaming movies doesn't work, but Bryan set us up with some DVDs.
The highlight of cabin is the wonderful porch, and the hummingbirds were constant visitors to the porch (you might want to bring some nectar with you). The scene off the porch is lovely, with mountains peeking through the diverse tree canopy. I imagine after the leaves fall, there will be a great view of the mountains.
The beds were very comfortable, and the linens, including the towels were were very nice. The living room was cozy.
The groundskeeper (we forgot his name) was super helpful to us throughout our stay, and kept everything looking great, including leaving a nice strip of wild flowers after mowing.
We enjoyed walking up the hill (maybe a mile) to a lovely spot with a rustic bench overlooking a valley and the mountains in the distance, with a variety of wildflowers.
We enjoyed grilling and we built several campfires!
On the way to Elktown, there is a wonderful Amish produce stand. Everything we purchased there was delicious!
