Great home

Had a great time staying here with my family. Location is just a few minutes walk from the shops in Douglass. Even more shops are close by in Saugatuck. Home was clean, in good working order. Kitchen was better stocked than most we have seen. All in all, a wonderful place to stay.

MI vacation

The house is in a great location, you can walk to downtown Douglas, a short drive to Saugatuck and Holland - and several beaches. The open kitchen, dining and living space were great for our group and the backyard is lovely! We cooked several meals and the well stocked kitchen was appreciated!

Perfect Girls Weekend Stay

Five long term friends ages late 60’s to 70’s enjoyed 4 days in this beautifully appointed house with all first class stocking. The house has a roof deck overlooking the lake and a backyard with a fire pit. The modern kitchen is well stocked with all drawers and cabinets labeled. 6 bedrooms with nice quality bedding and bathrooms with plush towels! Property manager is a dream for any issues you have. Quick service with a pleasant resolve. Highly recommend as being a perfect choice for larger groups and families.

Perfect Meeting Venue

This was a perfect setting for a 2-day executive retreat with rooms for each member and great space and lighting for long meetings. The nearby restaurants provided a much needed break from the long focused days of planning and vision casting. The property is beautifully maintained with a spectacular view of the lake.

Wonderful home that comfortably housed 14 adults for a weekend. Located in Douglas MI - you could walk to restaurants and shopping. The home had everything we needed for our vacation. Loved the rooftop patio and the private backyard patio with fire pit. Host was very communicative with check in and out process. Very modern and sleek home!

Nice Stay in downtown Douglas, large space and nice amenities!

Enjoyed the stay here but stayed during the off season to be close to a house we are building across the street from here (so not your typical customer). It is a rather large place (probably too much for just one couple) but it is clean and modern, and the owner communicates very well and the check-in/check-out process is/was very smooth/straightforward. Best part of this place is the location, the wonderful large TV in the living room, and the upstairs deck. Internet has good speed, good water pressure for the shower we used and we enjoyed using the coffee maker. Things to improve on: -Probably best to get an ice machine, to make it easier to dispense and use ice, the trays and what was provided weren't in the best shape. -The fitted sheets for the king size bed were small and were coming off too easily. Probably just need to get better sheets that fit. -Would love to have had a fireplace, but I did see you had a firepit outside which was fine. Thank you again!

The home is beautiful, extremely clean, well furnished, comfortable, and has a very well equipped kitchen. The location is walkable to downtown Douglas, and has lovely water views. We were a group of 15 and had plenty of space for sleeping, cooking, and dining. The backyard and roof deck are lovely as well. The hosts were extremely communicative and clear, and the check in and out processes were very easy. Overall a truly wonderful stay in Douglas.

This property was everything advertised and more! The kitchen was very well appointed. The common areas were open which was great for a group of our size. We were able to walk to Saugatuck downtown in 20 minutes and Douglas was short 5 minute walk. Best spot for both. The rooftop patio was great for gathering with a beautiful view of the water. All bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds. One teeny tiny comment, would be the furniture. A few thought there could be more comfortable chairs and the couch was a bit uncomfortable due to fact it was a deep seated couch; not easy on the back. That being said we will be back next year! Wonderful trip was had by all

The house was perfect for our group, it was clean and modern. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. Great location and beautiful view of the water. Everything we would need was provided by the owner. I wish it was a bit warmer outside to use those amenities but we still had a fabulous time. I would definitely book again.

Perfect Girl’s Weekend

The place was pretty much perfect, the beds were comfy and clean, and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need! You also have a beautiful outdoor space and a lake view! My only comment would be that it would be smart to upgrade to a code entry instead of 1 key because we had people wanting to come home at different times. But overall I would HIGHLY recommend this place for a large group.

Fabulous Spot for a Friendscation!

The Douglas modern villa is an incredibly well-appointed home full of every amenity needed for a great vacation. The kitchen was the perfect place for our group of old friends to gather and cook delicious meals. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and modern. The rooftop deck offers a beautiful view of the water, the backyard has a patio and firepit. The proximity to Douglas village is excellent. We enjoyed strolling into town for coffee, meals, gallery tours. It’s also super close to Saugatuck and all of its offerings. We would definitely return!

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at this beautiful property in Saugatuck and absolutely loved every minute of it. The home was spotless, stylish, and even better than the photos! Everything we needed was provided, from a well-equipped kitchen to comfy beds and thoughtful little touches throughout.The location was perfect, quiet and peaceful. Our host was fantastic, very responsive, friendly, and made check-in a breeze. Our family of 9...4 generations, stayed in this fabulous home for 4 nights. It featured well equipped kitchen, spacious backyard for play and lounging, game room, sun deck on the roof and comfortable beds and bathrooms for everyone. Close to walking downtown Douglas, and close drive to dunes and beaches.

Wonderful place

There were 15 adults in our group - plenty of room for all of us for meals and conversation! Very clean. Sleeping accommodations were great - just be aware that the futon in the basement is barely a double size bed. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and just about anything you could want in a kitchen and plenty of tableware - all cupboards were labeled! Worked out very well for our group.

Great location for our family.

We had a family wedding at The Ravines and The Ivy House. This property was in the perfect location to those venues; plus walked to downtown Douglas and a 4 minute drive to downtown Saugatuck. The property had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to choose from for us. We had three couples and a single. The home was well stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking items (though we ate out) etc..

Beautiful House!!

Loved this house. We had a group of 10 and there was plenty of space for everyone!! The house was fully stocked with everything we needed and super clean when we arrived! Added bonus - The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on!!

We are a family of five, with three kids. We live in in Chicago, and we have been coming to Saugatuck/Douglas multiple times a year for well over a decade. Our Saugatuck house, SAUGATUCK MODERN FARMHOUSE, was purchased as our second home, and we still use it as such. We enjoyed the area and the hosting experience and recently decided to buy an additional home, DOUGLAS MODERN VILLA. Our parents like to come along and also we like to spend time with other families - these houses are a great way to spend time with multi-generational families, groups of friends, or a couples getaway. We really enjoy what Saugatuck can offer year-around. In the summer, our favorites activities are Oval Beach, walking around downtown, getting coffee at Uncommon Grounds, ice cream at Kilwin’s, and food from Phil’s, Wicks Park, and Everyday People Cafe. In the winter we tend to stay in more, cook big family meals, still enjoy the downtown areas and the many businesses that stay open year around for the locals.

On his free time, Alex is an aspiring home chef, and as a result, the kitchens are equipped with everything you would need to put together a great meal. From grilling, sous vide, cast iron and dutch ovens, baking pans, food processors, blenders your needs should be covered. Also there is sufficient dishware, silverware and serving dishes to put a meal together for the full capacity of the house with room to spare.

Why they chose this property

One of the main questions we had was if we wanted to be in town or on the beach. When we came to Saugatuck/Douglas, we found that we would go to the beach 3-5 times a week, depending on weather, but we would come into town multiple times a day, so the decision was easy. DOUGLAS MODERN VILLA is in a great location - quiet neighborhood yet a short walk to downtown. Also we wanted a place that could fit 2-3 families with multiple kids each, plus one or two sets of parents, or a nanny.

What makes this property unique

DOUGLAS MODERN VILLA may appear deceptively small from the pictures. It is in fact 4,000 SF, 6 bedroom/4.5 bathrooms and accommodates several groups and allows privacy as well as shared space. It is newly built, and it is configured with multiple private spaces / desks and premium internet service for those folks that can't stay unplugged from work for too long.
