Perfect mountain getaway without steep drive.
Let me start by saying I love hiking the mountains but hate heights driving to get there. This drive was so easy, even with our 2wd suv in winter! Gentle slopes of roads to reach this beautiful level-ish large lot and this adorable cottage that feels like home! I’m in love! The property is located in a community but feels secluded. There are a few trails and waterfalls nearby (a couple miles drive) with moderate hikes. The yard was perfect for our family and dog to play. The home was inviting and so cozy and decorated for the holiday! The kitchen has everything you need plus some. The master bedroom (end of hall) has a comfortable bed and nice shower. Vent fan in that bath does not work, but the heater is wonderful in there! Second bedroom bed frame creaks every time someone rolls over, but the bed itself is comfortable and the pocket door to the Jack and Jill bathroom is a nice touch. The living room is so comfortable and inviting. The fireplace is the best! Bring matches/ lighter and some starter logs to make it easier. You can pick up some extra wood near Sapphire Ace Hardware just down the road. Definitely get more than you think you’ll need, you’ll use it inside and out! S’mores by the fire pit outside was a huge hit and the waterfall there with the lights at night is so relaxing! The pond was frozen over but still so beautiful! The cottage was mostly clean but could use a good top down scrub (ceiling fans, intake vents, glue traps, that kind of thing) but it was overall comfortably clean where it counts. Our only issues (not the best word as we overcame each) was 1. Check in was supposed to be at 4pm. We got the access code at quarter till 6pm, even though we were on property and no one else was there. 2. We were told there were two twin beds in the loft so both my sons could sleep there and my daughter could have her own room. There is only one bed in the loft. Two kids in the room with the squeaky bed was a bit rough at first. 3. I got the check out instructions email that said there may be an option for a late check out. I replied to the email and didn’t hear back if it was approved so we left before check out time so we wouldn’t have late check out fees ($100/hr if unapproved late out- so we didn’t stay). That being said, it was the holidays. See, easily overcome/overlooked and none to do with the home itself. Overall, I absolutely adore this property! I think we have found a new favorite for a relaxing vacation!

Lovely Yard
We enjoyed our stay. The lake is not walkable so we rented kayaks to get that great view. The house is well appointed and we enjoyed our quiet mornings with coffee on the front porch!
