The host was really kind to allow me to stay late since I had a late flight out. Truly appreciate that. The communication was easy. Location was ideal. A couple of things for others, if it bothers you:1) The lighting could be better, especially in the bedroom2) People live in the adjacent building, where it was uncomfortable for us to know that they could be walking by my window, and that side didn't have shades to block3) On weekdays, the train nearby was honking at 5:30 AM. I am a light sleeper, and that bothered me.
Love this beautiful fruit tree filled place! Love Old Palmetto! Location near park, historic village & Library outstanding! Access to beaches a breeze! Pat is a great & very responsive host! Hidden gem!
We had a great stay. The property is well maintained both inside and out. They have a lot of character with vibrant colors indoors and lots of beautiful flowers outdoors. Very peaceful and quiet!
We used this cottage as homebase. We found it very convenient to Sarasota, Long boat key, Siesta key, Anna Maria Island. The cottage was clean, stocked with everything that we needed. Back yard is very nice and Jim the next door neighbor is so very kind. It was a great stay.

Great house and gardens!
The house was very comfortable, and I loved the decor. The yard and gardens are very nice. I had a relaxing stay. Communication from the owner was great.
The property was easy to find . Good location and parking. Short drive to area shopping and groceries. I had a nice walk on the river walk. Not too far to drive to Anna Marie Island for the day. The oven did need some attention.
It was a very nice, clean place to stay. Conveniently located to where we needed to be. The yard was amazing, thanks to Jim, the manager. It was worth the trip to meet Jim, what a wonderful, hard working, pleasant man.
Lovely stay at a spacious and private property. The home is amazingly well equipped and looks out onto a garden with fruit trees.
The owner is responsive, helpful and kind. A nice place to land for a few days.
We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Very comfortable. Many extras were provided like paper towels, coffee, dish soap, extra towels, wood for fire pit, etc. Spacious, big yard, corn hole game. Only one bedroom was available, but if the second bedroom becomes available it would make a great place for a family. Nice area. Very close to the River House restaurant and walk way along th
The house and property were very quaint and uniquely appointed. The yard was full of fruit trees and our children loved learning more about them from the property manager. Our only suggestion is to upgrade the mattresses. They felt unstable and bowed in the middle. Otherwise, we’d stay there again. I will say the 10 min drive to the beach was more like 30 min due to Spring Break traffic.
From the time we pulled up in the driveway, we loved the property! The property was so inviting, from the beautiful yard with fruit trees, veggie garden and large lawn with a fire pit, to the house which is so calming, with lots of windows to let the breeze and light in. The decor may not be for people that think everything should be new and modern, but it was just beautiful to us. It's a house that was modeled in keeping of it's age...the fifties. Real comfortable furniture, and somewhat modern, but in keeping with the house. Kitchen has brick floors and is equipped with anything you would need to cook with. There were coolers and beach towels there for our use. A covered patio with grills and outdoor games.
The location is easy walking to a marina and beautiful historic homes and easy drive to other attractions.
We all hated to leave and hope to come back soon ! Thanks for having us!
We had such a nice time, really hated to leave but hope to be back soon!
This is a marvelous cottage, nestled into a residential area in Palmetto, just north of Bradenton, which is just north of Sarasota and the famous beaches (Anna Maria, Longboat Key etc.) Figure a 20-40 minute drive, depending on traffic, time of year and how far south you want to go. (Then again it can take an hour to drive two miles if you're right ON the beach in high season.)
Palmetto is a lovely maritime community of its own,a taste of old Florida, and this cottage is easy walking distance to a beautiful boat dock and a few nice restaurants and shops. The back yard and soaring cathedral ceiling are the glory of this place, which feels spacious but not at all spare. The caretaker and other on-site resident (including one dog) are friendly and so helpful-- the garden is maintained like the Garden of Eden, with edible fruit you're encouraged to eat, herbs and shade trees. A stacked fire pit was waiting at our arrival. Will we be back? You bet we will!!!
There was a second bedroom, but it was locked/closed off. My sister and I had to take turns sleeping on the couch!
The house was really cute, pine paneling, mid-century modern. Very clean. Good cable access. Good selection of magazines, books, & movies. Really appreciated the pamphlets of things to do in the area, however, some were outdated.
The grounds were beautiful and lush.
The roller shades on the windows were too short to cover the entire window and they are not adequate to keep the hot sun from beating in. Not very private either.
The kitchen lacked condiments but had plenty of kitchenware. The mattress on the king bed is a little lumpy.
Lacked: facial tissues, shampoo and conditioner, bar soap, notepad and pen.
My daughter, Granddaughter and myself so enjoyed this clean, retro decorated house! Living room so open and full of windows. Kitchen is filled stocked. Yard is large and has a fireplace. Patio stocked with yard games and grills for cooking. Plenty of parking space too. The location is safe and walkable to parks, churches, marina and more. Looking forward to staying here again!
