Great Villa at Iznajar

Great Villa, large and spacious. Very relaxing time spent here, 2 adults and two teenagers. Fantastic views of the mountains and the reservoir. Large pool, lots of areas for loungers. Town a short drive away. Beach on the reservoir very accessible and easy parking. Kayaks, Paddleboard, Pedalo's available plus swimming. Thoroughly recommend..

We had a wonderful holiday here in August 2025, beautiful villa and vistas, great pool, and everything you could need at the villa itself including excellent aircon in all bedrooms, fans in all rooms, gas bbq, big TV, washing machine, two fridges! Richard and Jo were great hosts, staying in the next valley along and close enough should a problem arise. They shared many excellent tips regarding places to go, places to eat, and Iznajar plus reservoir. We enjoyed a fantastic day out in Cordoba - would highly recommend (esp Mosque-Cathedral). The only challenge was the track to the villa itself - the villa is very much off the beaten track, and the 1km driveway was a little hair-raising at first! Thanks Richard and Jo for helping us have a lovely restful holiday.

Spectacular Villa

Absolutely superb villa with attention given to every detail. Spotlessly clean and Richard and Jo really went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable holiday. The track to the villa, as described, is narrow and steep in places, but is perfectly do-able and gets easier each time. I would say I am quite a nervous driver abroad (my husband is only able to drive adapted vehicles with hand controls which are rarely available), but I managed fine. There is also the added relief that you are not going to pass anyone coming the other way, as the long driveway in is entirely your own. The surrounding roads are wide and very accessible, far more so than other areas we have visited in Spain, providing quick access to Iznajar itself, either to the hilltop village centre or to the lakeside with restaurants and beach (Chiringuito Valdearenas and the Casemiro de Iznajar hotel restaurant were both very good with beautiful views). We had a second week at a different property about 2 hours away - and very quickly wished we were back at Cortijo Rocas Atlas!

Richard moved to Iznájar in early 2019 with his wife, Jo. Between them they have five adult children and two grandchildren. Richard enjoyed a career in Finance and Jo worked as a Duty Manager at London Gatwick airport.

They enjoy walking their two dogs, Bailey and Toby, and regularly meet up with a Walking Group to see different places in the local area.

Why they chose this property

If you are looking for an amazing space, stunning views, privacy, and a place to relax and unwind then we have it all. Located in a rural position set among olive trees and close to the local amenities of the pueblo blanco that is the hill-top town of Iznájar, with its bars and restaurants, historic buildings, shops, supermarkets as well as a beach and local sports facilities by the Lake.

The cities of Granada and Malaga are within a one hour drive from the Villa, with Cadiz, Córdoba, Ronda and Seville, with all their amazing history, being further afield.

What makes this property unique

There is so much on offer locally and further afield. The Caminito del Rey offers a spectacular walkway through a gorge; the incredible rock formations at El Torcal, near Antequera; the Alhambra, at Granada and Mezquita de Córdoba; caves at Nerja or simply people watching whilst enjoying a drink and tapas in a local bar.
