Beautiful property! Wonderful host!

Beautifully appointed cave & stone property overlooking the town. Many patios to sit and enjoy the quiet views. Our host Suha was most generous and accommodating in opening his “home” to us and our friends. A wonderful stay!

Characterful house in a great location

Roomy and clean, elegantly furnished and full of character, with lots of thoughtful touches. Such a wonderful location up in the old town peaceful and quiet and with wonderful views, but within walking distance of the vibrant and fascinating town centre.

Special, beautiful place

Suha was a great host. When were about to book it, I was confused by the photos and he quickly added photos. When we checked in, he spent time with us telling us about the area. The place was really cool and the we had more rooms and bathrooms than we needed. I was unsure about room and bed sizes from the photos, but they were spacious. Terrace seating was great. Excellent supplies (e.g., towels, water, cleaning supplies, coffee maker). Excellent town to stay in if you have a car.

A big tick

Loved the atmosphere ….. we were 6 adults at a conference and found the house and Urgup just wonderful. The Internet was not strong throughout the house which required work-arounds. Suha was very helpful.

Far exceeded expectations

Suha kindly helped us with everything! He was right there with any request for any additional items and he even gave us a ride to/from town/restaurant every evening. The cave house was huge and very upscale. The views of the mountains are gorgeous, especially from the outdoor breakfast terrace. Continental breakfast features several choices of food and drink including cooked-to-order eggs. Lots of privacy both inside and on the outdoor private patios. Washer/dryer is free. I like that each room had separately-controlled heating and air conditioning that worked very well.

About the host

Hosted by Hikmet Süha Ersöz

Host profile image
Hikmet Süha Ersöz is a hospitality entrepreneur based in Cappadocia, Türkiye, and the founder of a boutique cave accommodation experience in Ürgüp. With a background in law, he began his career working in his family’s petrol station business, gaining early experience in management and operations.

After completing his legal education, he spent time in Italy, where exposure to culture, architecture, and design broadened his perspective and strengthened his appreciation for heritage and aesthetics. He later came to Cappadocia as a tourism volunteer, an experience that became a turning point and led him toward a long-term path in hospitality.

He went on to establish Esbelli Evi, one of Cappadocia’s first boutique cave hotels, which he developed and operated for nearly 30 years. During this time, he contributed to the early development of boutique cave hospitality in the region, with a strong focus on authenticity, preservation, and guest experience.

Building on this foundation, he later transitioned to a more intimate home-stay concept. His current work focuses on restoring traditional Cappadocian cave dwellings and historic stone houses, preserving their original character while introducing modern comfort in a subtle and respectful way. His design approach emphasizes simplicity, natural materials, and harmony with the surrounding landscape.

Beyond hospitality, he has remained closely connected to cultural and artistic communities, hosting artists and cultural figures in Cappadocia and supporting various creative initiatives over the years.

Today, his accommodation experience offers guests an authentic stay in carefully restored cave suites designed to reflect the spirit of Cappadocia, combining comfort, heritage, and a deep sense of place.
