About this property
Luxuriously converted church at the footsteps of Barrington Tops
After a year-long renaovation completed in September 2020, The Church at Barrington is a unique stay for a couple, with all the creatures comfort in an heritage-listed weatherboard gothic style Free Presbyterian Church built in the 1930's. The Church reflects the strong Scottish roots of the district, namely the Isle of Skye, from where many of the early settlers of Barrington originated. The Church has all modern creature comforts, with a luxurious leather modular lounge and a state of the art kitchen. The open plan bedroom features a antique half-tester bed with a Koala mattress - guaranteeing a perfect night sleep. The old vestry has been converted into a bathroom with a wonderful hansgrohe rain shower. The Church opens up into a beautiful verandah with a comfy outdoor lounge setting along with a Ziggy barbeque. This opens up to the landscaped grounds, with formal paths, roses, and your very own boules court for a lazy afternoon.

The property is simply stunning! A beautiful renovation of a weatherboard Presbyterian Church with attention to detail and quality inclusions. The landscaped yard is a delight to wander around. We loved our weekend stay and hikes in a quiet and very beautiful part of the world.
We really enjoyed our stay at Barrington. The chapel is a great conversion, we found everything we needed for our stay and loved the sitting area at the back of the property.
You can do as much or as little locally, we went for a couple of hikes, but also enjoyed some much needed downtime relaxing at the chapel.

Church stylish interior in style, very comfortable space. Gardens beautiful & many birds. Complimentary wine much appreciated. Barrington tops np driving distance.
My partner and I loved our stay at Barrington. The house was spacious and extremely well fitted out. The kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed the cafes and bakery in nearby Gloucester. Great bushwalks a short drive away where we saw lots of birds including a lyre bird just 2 metres from us. Fantastic!
We will definitely come back. Thank you

The Church at Barrington is a wonderful place to stay. The property is immaculate and very well fitted out, including a washing machine and dryer - very handy if you've been tramping around the countryside! Only a short drive into Gloucester for dinner.
Beautiful property and excellent and tasteful appointment of everything. Comfortable and accessible to great walks and the Tops in general. Would return in a flash.
A delight… ease of booking, clear succinct instructions and the most gloriously renovated church space I’ve ever stayed in. I spent four days by myself in rest and recuperation at the end of two weeks traveling and couldn’t have asked for better!!!
Wonderful for solos or couples wanting something just that little bit magical.
Thank you
This property was an amazing place to stay. The conversion of the church has been very sensitively and tastefully done to an exceptionally high standard. As a living space, the format is luxury "open plan" with a verandah and BBQ at the back which mostly overlooked bush which was a great place for an evening drink and to BBQ a steak for dinner. The weather was against us with lots of rain but we found plenty to do to keep us occupied in nearby Gloucester and a hike at the beautiful Copeland State Conservation Area which was also close by. We are very fastidious people and this property was absolutely immaculate in every respect. Highly recommended.

Hi Michael - so glad you enjoyed your stay. We put alot of effort into the restoration and it is good for that to be appreciated. It is a great spot being literally at the foothills of the Tops. Welcome back anytime - the gardens will grow and mature over the years and it will become a real oasis.

Myself and my wife stayed for a couple of night and had an amazing time. The property is unique and the experience was exceptional. The conversion has been done to a very high standard with modern touches enhancing the history of the building. If you’re looking for somewhere different that is presented to a very high standard. This is the place for you.
Fabulous short stay, the recent quality renovation is amazing. We cooked and ate in both nights we were there. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with good quality saucepans, knives, crockery etc. The garden will look stunning in a few years when fully established . All in all highly recommended, make your booking now!
