About this property

Early colonial style homestead [circa 1906]

A simple, very rustic [self-contained] homestead, best enjoyed by people wanting to escape the fast paced city life for the tranquility of the country. It is remote, yet only 6km into Hill End town. We offer our guests, space, clean/comfortable beds, spectacular views, peace and quiet!

Access to the homestead is via 5.5kms of dirt road from the highway, 4WD is preferable, however a 2WD will get you to the homestead [in dry weather] and back if you take it slow and easy. Strictly 4WD only in the winter months and after heavy rain.

Bring your pet [maximum of two], relax and just laze around the homestead, enjoy a drink or two around the outdoor fire-pit, go for a walk, practice your photography, paint a picture, take in the bird life [so many!], gaze the amazing star show at night. If you don't want to cook take a short drive into Hill End historic township for great coffee and food at either Hill End Estate, Hill End General Store & Cafe or Hill End Pub, plus don't forget to visit the History Hill Museum Hill and the Hill End Heritage Centre.

Initially part of Gundowda Estate in Hargraves, NSW, the property was later split up for sale and the homestead was purchased by the Graham family in 1976. Having lost their original home to fire, they then spent the next three years lovingly and painstakingly deconstructing the homestead and then rebuilding it plank by plank, brick by brick, onto its present site at Posey Hill, Hill End.

This is a truly unique property featuring, 12 foot ceilings, six fireplaces, four extra large bedrooms [sleeping a total of 12 people], country kitchen with electric and wood-fire stoves, wooden floorboards throughout, wrap-around verandas, federation bathroom with claw-foot tub.

The feeling you get when you enter this property is hard to put into words, but it just feels good to be there.

Only an hour's drive to either Mudgee or Bathurst and three and a half hours from Sydney.

$250 per night, [$260 winter months] minimum 3 night stay [discounts for return and longer stays].
Motor Bikes, Quad Bikes, All Terrain Vehicles or Hunting NOT permitted.
