We had such a lovely trip and can't thank the hosts enough. They have thought of everything, had lots of games, open fireplace, comfy beds, 3 bathrooms. Gave us an amazing home base to explore the region.
We love cooking that kitchen was well equipped with all the things you would need.
Can't wait to visit again and highly recommend to all.
Lovely property set in beautiful surrounds. The fire place was amazing, and the house is a great set up for a couple of families with lots of space and bathrooms/toilets. Inbuilt trampoline and basketball ring were massive hits with our boys. Flora was a lovely host and very accommodating.
Absolutely perfect property for a weekend away with the girls, but we have all said it was also bw pwefwct to bring back the family.
Only problem with the stay was that we disnt want to leave. Stay a week if you can !
Was a great house for a weekend away with extended family. Lots of activities to keep the kids occupied and allow the parents to relax. Great size house to accommodate 13 people comfortably. Only negativity was ducted heating was abit noisy and wasn’t able to keep on overnight due to noise. Would highly recommend to others to stay

We are glad you had a great weekend Nicole! Thank you for the feedback about the heating. We know it gets very cold overnight and hope you were able to stay warm with electric blankets and portable heaters instead of leaving the heating on overnight. Thanks again for your stay
Exactly as described. There was 10 of us and still space. House is huge and well equipped for cooking, playing, fishing, exploring and relaxing. We’ll be back!
Just as described. A perfect river cottage with all the modern amenities.
Wrap around wooden decking and lots of sun drenched places to enjoy a coffee or wine.
Tons of space for the kids. Beautiful strawberries and herb garden to gather supplies. The river is accessible and picturesque.
Overall a very enjoyable relaxing stay.

Good area and silence
Over all good. Minor problems: no aircon, no garbage bins in toilets and on veranda. Also the cutleries not perfect.
Thanks anyway.
A beautiful property. We had a long weekend with friends. The property is spacious and comfortably had three families. Lots to do in the property and surrounding area. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the city!
We absolutely loved our stay at the River House. It was so inviting and cosy!
So much space for the kids to run free around the property.
The outdoor fire pit was a highlight and the serenity that comes with the river running through property and the kookaburras and frogs in the background.
Perfect place to unwind.
Thanks Flora and Steve!
An amazing getaway to a beautiful home on a river w mtb track a couple hundred meters away.
This was organised for Dad’s 70th birthday and kids and grandchildren. Family only event
and it delivered! Mum & Dad we’re so delighted to have everyone under the one roof for the entire time we were there. Didn’t leave the property to go anywhere apart from ride out bikes. The kitchen facilities were amazing, the bedrooms were large enough that we felt like it was our our home. Parents have spoken about it and would love to make it an annual getaway house to go to. Many thanks to our hosts Steven & Flora for making it happen.
We travelled to Buxton as two families and couldn't have loved the house more. Plenty of room inside and out for everyone to relax and unwind. Beautiful wide windows in every room. Gorgeous fireplace. Spacious and well-appointed kitchen. Two of the four bedrooms come with en suite bathrooms, which were a luxurious treat. Lots of games and books. There were also some outdoor toys as well.
Would definitely recommend it and will likely stay again.

Blokes Motorbike Weekend
A lovely home on a lovely property. Half a dozen fellas on a motorcycling weekend away. Had a great time enjoying the house and the grounds at a beautiful time of year. Brilliant road and rail riding at the doorstep. The house has everything you could possibly need and was very comfortable and warm through a chilly weekend.
This is the second time we have stayed here. Because we love it so much. The property is massive and well maintained gardens. The adults could sit back and enjoy, as the kid explored, played basketball and scooted around the deck.
The kitchen is amazing! Wok burner, griddle hot plate and deep fryer made mealtimes delightful.
Can’t recommend this place enough.
Beautiful property with gorgeous gardens and river frontage
Had a great stay here with friends
Lots of space for everyone and plenty to do both at the property and surrounding area including 10 minutes from marysville
Large section of property had river frontage which is great for swimming or drifting down river 😀 and was also an excellent spot for fly fishing
Hosts were very accommodating with arrival times etc and gave great guide on local area.
Our stay in River House was a very memorable time to celebrate a milestone birthday. Everything worked well and the house very comfortable for our 3 family groups who ranged in age from 4 to 80 years.
The position of the house is beautiful with many areas to explore safely - from wombat burrows to walking by the river. The many toys and games were a great hit with all ages and the verandah is made for scooters!
Our thanks to Flora for making our time so special. Hopefully we'll be able to have a return visit in the future.
This was truly amazing property. The grounds are extremely well thought out and maintained to perfection with lawn right down to the river's edge. House also very well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The perfect property for children and adults alike. I want to move in!
Great house, great location...
A magical place with a river in the garden. No reason to leave the property over our stay.
Floria our host was very accommodating.
This property has it all for those who want to enjoy time away from city life. The lovely garden has shady trees and green lawns right down to the river. The house is so comfortable and there are lots of activities for children. Thanks for the strawberries, Fiona. We loved our stay.
What a special place, we had a wonderful week exploring the gardens, river and nearby area. We can’t wait to return!

About the host
Hosted by Flora
The River House is our escape and our sanctuary, and we are so happy to be able to share it. We often don't leave the property once we arrive as the children are 100% entertained by the sweeping lawns, making up games and exploring the veggie garden. However, we love being active and social, so will often head to Marysville
Why they chose this property
You can choose to 100% relax and not leave the property, or 100% explore and get active with the local attractions in Marysville (Gallipoli Park, skate park, cafes, old fashioned lolly shop!), Lake Mountain (summer hiking or mountain biking / winter skiing), Alexandra (great coffee, cafes and gastropubs), and Buxton (walk along meeting of the waters, play tennis, visit antique shop), or Cathedral Range State Park (spectacular hikes, or smaller walks for younger children)
What makes this property unique
Beautiful landscaped garden Spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house Entertainers kitchen (miele, gaggenau appliances, coffee machine) 700m river frontage (swimming, dipping feet or fishing!) 360 degree views of rolling hills (State Park) on one side, to the majestic Cathedral Range on the other side Close to Marysville for shopping, eating, walking or park play (younger children)
