Wonderfully serene and comfortable
My partner and I had such a beautiful stay here. It was so serene and peaceful, being in nature but also not being too far from home was a bonus! We were very impressed by all the amenities and and the tent itself is gorgeous! John and Gwyn are lovely and gave us a great run down/introduction on everything. Thank you both for this lovely place!

Restful getaway
We had 2 nights away staying at the glamping campsite. We arrived just after 5.30pm meeting John and Gwyen who were lovely. They showed us around the campsite then left us to settle in. We enjoyed a bbq dinner and sat around the camp fire whilst soaking in the beautiful scenery. The tent was cosy and our bedding was very warm. Upon waking we were greeted with birds and alpacas in site. We ventured out over the land for a peaceful walk. We had a lovely stay and will definiltey be returning in the future and telling our friends and family. Thank you for a lovely stay! Emma Lee and Joshua

It was such a lovely Peaceful stay, everything was so clean and beautiful to look at and walking down to see the alpacas each morning was a fabulous bonus! About the host

Hosted by John and Gwyn Bell

Host profile image
Both Gwyn and John were born and raised in the Lake District in the UK quite a long time ago. We left the UK when we were both about 21. We have lived in the UK, Holland, France, Sweden and Indonesia before moving to Australia in 1988 as business migrants.

Gwyn bred Egyptian Arabian Horses in Holland, Indonesia and Australia, before changing to alpacas, cattle, sheep etc along the way.
Gwyn’s breeding programmes have resulted in many successful show results in all the animal species that she has been involved with
John owned businesses in Western Europe and South East Asia and is a self confessed political tragic. Since arriving in Australia John has been a business advisor and is now semi retired. We just love Australia!...no whinging POMS to be found at Eversprings!

When we lived in Holland we lived in several locations and the kids went through the school system there. We loved Holland but we also needed a change.

We moved from Holland to Indonesia and we took 6 Arabian horses, a Siamese cat, an Irish wolfhound and a Schnauzer. Animals have always been an important part of our lives

Our move to Indonesia was probably mid life change writ large.

While we did enjoy our time in Indonesia and made friends with some lovely people, we struggled with living on the outskirts of the bustling city of Jakarta and we yearned for space and decided to move to Australia - a decision we never regretted.

Now retired, hospitality is a new venture for us and we enjoy sharing our property and the hills lifestyle. Just one hour away from the Perth CBD yet set among the tall trees. Just 2 tents on 100 acres.

We understand that people staying here want their space and tranquility and we try hard to provide that. So while we are always available, we never want to intrude on your alone time.

We want you our guests to enjoy what we enjoy and reconnect away from the pressures of big City. If we can help you to create some great memories then that will be fabulous.

Why they chose this property

We have always had a few acres and when we saw Eversprings advertised 26 years ago as having “oodles of Water”, walking distance to the high schools and partially cleared paddocks, village amenities then we were sold. Since we have lived on the property we have planted many tree and re-habilitated the creek line to encourage wild life.
We have never regretted our move to the property - not a neighbour in sight, a winter creek and tall trees, a really picturesque property that we love and like to share.

What makes this property unique

Large acreage on the very outskirts of the village, the two tents nestled between the tall trees. The property adjoins thousands of acres of bush - we count our blessings when we sit on the deck and look down the valley. Not a soul in sight and just the sound of the wildlife.
Since the outbreak of COVID we have doubly appreciated the space, the clean air and the serenity.
The recurring feedback from our guests has been their appreciation of the serenity and relaxation, away from the maddening crowds. It has also been surprising just how many residents of Perth have never visited Lake Leschenaultia and how impressed they have been after visiting this lake - a true gem in the Perth Hills.
