HILLBORNE COTTAGE is a self-contained two bedroom cottage in the beautiful Perth Hills at Sawyers Valley. Hillborne borders on, with safe easy access, to the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, the KEP Track (walk, cycle., horse ride) and the National Trust Golden Pipeline Heritage Drive (Mundaring Weir to Kalgoorlie) and Alps Reserve.

The cottage is perfectly situated for bush walkers, cyclists, and horse riders with numerous tracks and trails all within a stone's throw of "Hillborne", about 5 mins drive, 15 mins off road cycle ride from Mundaring and 45 minutes from Perth. The Munda Biddi Trail, one of the worlds longest off road cycle trails starts in Mundaring.

The cottage, has very comfortable two bedroom accommodation with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two king singles. It has a fully equipped kitchen, sitting and dining area with TV, DVD player, reverse cycle air-conditioning in the living areas, fans in the bedrooms. A large veranda with BBQ to enjoy the beautiful views over the valley and the spectacular glow of the last rays of the sun disappearing up the gum trees.

All linen and towels provided. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar provided and our own free range eggs when available. PLEASE NOTE : MINIMUM TWO NIGHT STAY.

PLEASE NOTE: Access to the cottage is up a short flight of stairs to the verandah, this could be a problem for guests with mobility issues.

Lovely place with everything you need

We had a great stay. We loved the artworks, the facilities available at the house, the thoughtfulness of small gestures like honey, eggs, milk and juice on arrival and easy, prompt communication with Melissa. We only wish we could have had a longer stay to relax into everything the house and area has to offer!

Perfect autumn mini break

We loved feeding the horses and toasting marshmallows around the fire. We brought our pooch this time and it was so easy with the enclosed yard. A short walk to the Mt Helena tavern for an afternoon beer, where we shared the beer garden with a local horse as well as lots of other friendly dogs! This place would be lovely for a couple as well as a family.

Fabulous Easter escape

The perfect getaway

My energetic dog and I loved our stay at Hillborne. Melissa is a wonderful host and we felt very welcome. Beautiful property with plenty of walk trails and wildlife to keep us entertained, as well as many relaxing hours on the deck. The complimentary eggs and honey were a very welcome treat. Highly recommended.

Very relaxing few days in Sawyers Valley

Mum, Winston and I enjoyed our short stay at Hillborne Cottage. It was so peaceful and there are so many birds and farm animals to watch from the balcony. We stayed out there for hours! Inside it was so cosy with cushions, rugs, extra blankets and towels. In the kitchen no detail was missed and the milk, eggs and honey were a great addition. Thank you Melissa, we’ll be back again!

Peaceful and Relaxed

What a lovely stay! We appreciate the well-appointed kitchen and comfy beds. Fresh eggs, sweet honey, fresh milk, and cold orange juice awaited us. Our dogs had the best time running outside, and we enjoyed the views from the verandah.

Chill and relax

Escape to this beautiful cottage in the hills! Well-equipped kitchen with some pantry staples and amazing fresh eggs and honey provided. Melissa is an excellent host and communication was great throughout. Can’t wait to return.

A little touch of paradise

The property was amazing and you couldn’t ask for a more perfect location The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you needed The little touches such as milk, eggs, coffee pods and orange juice were a lovely touch

Relaxing environment

We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas. Very nice personal touches, fresh eggs, raw honey, good quality chocolates, carton of milk and a bottle of quality juice. It was lovely having the horses infront of the property. Melissa offered to have my daughter join her grandkids in feeding them which was very kind.

Hills holiday

Beautiful view and fantastic location. Kids loved the animals and Melissa was very kind introducing us! I wouldn't take our dog next time as most of the surrounding areas don't allow dogs and that hindered us a bit. But gorgeous relaxing view, delicious eggs and honey and would definitely recommend!

A fantastic location!

Hillborne is on the doorstep of a network of trails for those who like to walk, cycle or ride their horse on trails away from the traffic. These same trails can take you to a choice of pubs for a drink and fab meal. The cottage is full of homely touches and is set amongst tidy paddocks grazed by horses. We thoroughly enjoyed a home away from home.

Beautiful and relaxing break

We have stayed here before and loved it so much we came back, but this time just relaxed at the property all weekend, watching the horses and the local wildlife pass by. The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped with absolutely everything you need for a beautiful home from home stay. The hosts are lovely people, friendly and welcoming, and I’d recommend this stay to anyone wanting a relaxing and wholesome stay in the hills..
