The location is great and the house was just as described. Communication with the host was timely. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the necessities. Would stay there again.
This was the perfect property for our family! The house was very clean and had all the supplies we needed for making food at the house! We really appreciated the snack basket on arrival as well! The location was great for both traveling to Black Canyon of Gunnison and walking to explore downtown Montrose. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
This home was perfect for our group. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied.

Great Home!
The location was perfect and the home was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The beds upstairs need a bit of care as you could hear there creaks downstairs from the second floor during the night and the mattresses could use an upgrade.
The house is cute and had all the things we needed. We appreciate when owners have toilet paper and paper towels available. There was even a welcome basket with fruit and treats for us.
The house was clean and within walking distance to stores / food / etc. The hosts replied to questions very quickly via text message. The neighborhood was quiet, and parking was easy. We used the house as a kind of "base camp" for our hikes in the nearby canyon, which is a short drive away. Overall, a great experience!
Awesome place to stay. Close to downtown. Everything about this experience was exceptional. My grandson mentioned to the host (when the host came by to water the grass) that we were out of the hot chocolate that had been provided. Within an hour, the host dropped off more! How awesom was that!! Could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this place.
The listing said "new", maybe that meant it was "new" to VRBO. The house is not new, the beds are certainly not new. All of the mattresses need to be upgraded, and full size beds do not suffice for 2 adults. The air conditioning situation in the upper level is not good. A window unit in a half open window had to be rigged with a monopoly game board to block incoming hot air.
The location is great, the common area and deck are comfortable for visiting. We had to make the bedroom and bathrooms work for 6 people. If there were more, as it is advertised to accommodate, it would have been unworkable. Not really what we expected for the price.

4/10 Poor

Not what we were expecting
This place was rough. The AC unit upstairs does not cool the bedrooms upstairs so it was difficult to sleep well. Most of the mattresses were poor. The bunkbed is not meant for adults so it rocked and moved disturbing the person in the lower bed. The second bathroom shower does not have a ledge or shelf to put shampoo/soap so difficult to use. The kitchen is small but had a good supply of cooking necessities. The window blinds fell off at 2am waking us up and there was a large bug in one of the beds. The host apologized but made no effort to make amends.
This was a cute old house with many quirks. The stairs were a bit uneven so watch your step! The floors creaked making it easy to hear when everyone gets up in the morning. Due to old pipes, the downstairs bathroom made a loud noise that resembled a ship leaving port whenever the toilet or sink was used. Each time we wanted to yell All Aboard! The beds were decent but the pillows were very flat and worn. Even with all the quirks, it was a nice place to stay for the weekend. It is close to downtown and in a cute quiet neighborhood. The welcome basket of mini muffins, bananas and candy was a nice touch and appreciated. I rated 4 stars instead of 5 because I think there is room for improvement. Also, we followed instructions for check out that included stripping the beds, taking out trash and general cleanup, but why is that even necessary when already charged a cleaning fee? In conclusion, it was a nice stay sharing the house with my grown up children and better than needing several hotel rooms.

2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness, location
Functional
This VRBO is over 100 years old. Door knobs, likely original since the house was built in 1912, somewhat latch to keep bedroom door shut, not lock. Other doors have to use modern hardwares to keep bedroom and toilet doors close. One bathroom downstairs has a tub with 2 shower curtains surrounding it. When you shower, it has to be pulled around the entire tub, you’ll feel pretty claustrophobic. The inner curtain is w/in a few inches of your left and right arms. There’s no place to keep shampoo/shower gel in the tub. The floor creaks, some part felt squishy. Furnitures in this house aren't all match, seems like they were purchase from a Goodwill/Thrift Store at different time/location and thrown in there. Bed sheets, blankets and pillow covers are roughed, you’ll get skin exfoliation from using these items. The ceiling fan in the bedroom/pots and pans rack were caked with dust, and it was right above where you do all of your cookings, did not used the fan, kitchen sink faucet jiggled. The clothes washer was LOUD, dryer is terrible at drying clothes. The house windows/front door have huge gaps/cracked glass, cold house for winter visit. Grill w/missing heat tent, metal piece covers the burner, we rigged it up by using foils. FUNCTIONAL is theme of this VRBO. We WOULD NOT re-book here for our next visit to Montrose, CO. Positive: Close to downtown, only plus for this property. I took some pictures, just to prove my case, but no upload option.

Hi Loi, we're sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations and that the home wasn't quite what you were looking for. This is a historic property, over 100 years old, and as such, it does come with some unique characteristics and charm that reflect its age. The windows throughout the home have been replaced, with the exception of those in the kitchen and dining area, which remain original to preserve the home's character. As for the washer and dryer, they have been functioning properly and we have not received any prior concerns regarding their performance. We’ve been fortunate to receive many 5-star reviews over time, and we strive to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests. Thank you again for your stay.
The host provided a nice welcome basket. Overall the property was clean and nice. We did have an issue with the description of the bedrooms though that did have a profound impact on our stay. One bedroom stated it had bunk beds but there was one full/queen sized bed. This caused a great many problems with our kids. With the bunk beds, every one had their own bed but without them, we were one bed short. Just want to point that out for others that are deciding to stay based on the number of beds. Otherwise, the property was adequate, clean, safe, etc.
Wunderschönes Ferienhaus. Wir hatten 2 tolle Wochen mit Hund.Wir sind am Ankunftstag mit einer schmackhaften Käse-Schinken Platte und einer schönen Flasche Wein empfangen worden.Sehr sauberes Haus, liebevoll eingerichtet, rundum gelungen. Sehr zu empfehlen.
Clean and great location close to downtown Montrose
Property was in good condition - plenty of space for 2 couples with 2 adult sons. Kitchen was well equipped. Nice linens and towels. Room for improvement on mattresses. Private backyard and deck. We didn't spend a lot of time at the property since we were there for our daughter's wedding and enjoying all this area had to offer with family and friends. Thanks for a comfortable home-away-from-home and the surprise welcome basket!
It was so nice and clean! Everything you could possibly need! Decorated nicely and the upstairs for the kids was perfect! Will definitely be back, my wife has family in Montrose.

Perfect Location, Beautiful Home
What a beautiful home! My stay here was comfortable and relaxing. I spent mornings drinking coffee on the back deck and most evenings watching TV on the large smart TV in the living room. On the occasion I didn't walk to one of the many nearby dining options for dinner, I cooked for myself in the well appointed kitchen. My bed was incredibly comfortable with good quality soft linens and pillows.
Mike and Carla are fantastic hosts who care about guest comfort and satisfaction. I am beyond excited for my next stay at their lovely home!
