About this property
Vidanta Grand Luxxe 3BD/3BA "Spa" Suite or 2BD/2-1/2BA "Villa"
**Please note that I don't have Christmas/New Years or Holy Week/Easter available** **The resort charges for golf and tennis, and gondola for amusement park w/o tickets** **The resort charges about $25/day MX tax for a 3-bedroom Spa when you check out**
**The resort doesn't allow changes or cancellations outside of 90 days before check-in, and VRBO doesn't have this option - so although "no refunds" is indicated on VRBO, I do allow changes or cancelations if you can just let me know outside of 90 days before you're scheduled to check-in at the resort - thanks!**
This listing is for a 3-bedroom/3-bathroom “Spa” Suite, or for a 2-bedroom/2-1/2 bathroom "Villa” that has a sitting room (with a sleeper/sofa) in place of a true third bedroom. Some consider the sitting room of a "Villa" as a third bedroom, but a "Villa" is always going to be a 2-bedroom/2-1/2 bathroom - good for two (2) adult couples and a few kids, but you'll want the 3-bedroom/3-bathroom "Spa" Suite for anything more. The resort's usage fees (and my rate) are the same for either.
Generally, the number of full bedrooms of a Grand Luxxe accommodation is the same as the number of full bathrooms. If you are three (3) adult couples, then the "Spa" has three (3) full bedrooms, since it has three (3) full bathrooms. If you are two (2) adult couples, then the "Villa" has two (2) full bedrooms, since it has two (2) full bathrooms. If you are four (4) adult couples, then you'd want the 4-bedroom (please see below).
Rental is week-to-week, and check-in generally on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday (although the resort will make exceptions for other days if available). You can reserve up to twelve (12) months in advance.
A 2-bedroom/2-1/2 Suite (without additional sitting/sleeping room) is $25/night less, a 3-bedroom/4-bathroom Loft (located in Towers 3-5 is $150/night more, or a beachfront 3-bedroom/3-1/2 bathroom Presidential “Punta" is $275/night more.
A 4-bedroom Residence with private elevator, two (2) King beds, two (2) Double beds, and 4-1/2 bathrooms with two (2) Jacuzzi tubs is $325/night more.
If you can view this listing, then I should have weeks available to rent - but (being a fractional ownership), I would need to check with the resort if the resort has your requested dates available.
You can find floor plans to compare the 3-bedroom "Spa" (photo #17) and 2-bedroom "Villa" (photo #18) in the "Photos" section of this listing. Both the 3-bedroom "Spa" and 2-bedroom "Villa" have the same maximum capacity of ten (10) persons of which up to eight (8) can be adults (12 years and older), and come with a King bed in each of two of the bedrooms (although a Villa can occasionally have two doubles in its second bedroom rather than a King). Bedding also pulls out from under each of two (2) sofas in the living room, and the top of the sofas can be made into bedding at night as well.
Differences are that the "Spa" unit has a third bedroom with two (2) Double (or Queen) beds and a third full bathroom, while a "Villa" has an additional 1/2 bathroom and sitting room (with sofa, TV, phone, etc) that converts into a private sleeping area for an additional person at night. The "Villa" is a corner unit with a little more wrap-around view of the outside grounds, while the "Spa" is a middle unit that also has a massage room and table.
The maximum capacity for a 3-bedroom is ten (10) of which up to eight (8) may be adults, while a 4-bedroom is twelve (12) of which up to ten (10) may be adults. The resort counts an "adult" as 12 years and older, but does not count an "infant" (less than 3 years old ) in their maximum capacity limitation.
Two-for-one massages, gym and wet areas to relax, as well as Wi-fi and your own floor’s concierge are included during your stay. The resort is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport, but (unfortunately, as of 3/31/2023) the resort no longer provides its complimentary shuttle service.
Tower 1 is closest to the beachfront "Punta" building, while the newer tower 5 with "Loft" units is further inland. The "Spa" units are all located in tower 4 (on floors 4 - 9) and the "Villa" units are in towers 1 - 4 (on floors 1 - 9) as well as some now in tower 5. The south facing side of tower 1 has more direct views of the ocean and pool areas (photo #6), while the other towers have more distant side views of the ocean, facing inward (west) towards the resort (photo #12) or outward (east) at the Ameca River (photos #4 and #9) . You can find a map of the resort (photo #3) showing how these towers are arranged against the Ameca river on the east side of the property. Your accommodation is assigned at check-in (based on availability) - although I can request (not guarantee) whatever you prefer - but I don't think that you'll be disappointed wherever you stay at this resort.
You can book up to twelve (12) months in advance for the better availability - less if dates are flexible - but please always check on the resort’s availability before booking your flights!
The "Punta" should also be reserved further in advance, because it's "beachfront" with just four (4) 3-bedroom units on three (3) floors (and the top floors are just for Vidanta's founder/developer for when he's in town). The first photo of this listing shows the proximity of the "Punta" to the ocean, and was taken from a "Punta" common area balcony.

Tim was an excellent and helpful host. The property was spacious and provided plenty of room for our family of 6. We had such an amazing time and we highly recommend this property.
Vidanta is an exceptional property excellent for family gatherings. Extremely well-maintained with a wide variety of activities, restaurants etc. We would highly recommend it.
The 3 bedroom unit was absolutely stunning. Cleaning service stopped at our room 2-3 times per day, which was a welcome change from a lot of other properties. The resort is gigantic, so plan to get a lot of steps in. The property was in amazing condition with clean pools and many things to do. The service at the pools and in the restaurants never disappoints.
Our host was awesome. Responded very rapidly and kept us informed of any changes. The property was beautiful! The staff at hotel was awesome and very respectful.
Gorgeous place and property. Dinner choices limited due to need for reservations and seating counts for large party. Three bedroom was just what we needed and is gorgeous with golf course and water views. I would absolutely go back. Spa service was excellent!
The host of this property was wonderful to work with. Best experience we have every had with VRBO. We have stayed at this resot location on many occasions, but first time working with this host and his properties .plan on reacreajing out to this host again for future stays should we continue to return this location as we have been doing. n when Plan on d
This was a great unit. The property is very well maintained. If you are looking for a trip to get away from it all this is the place. I didn't need my phone or wallet or room key anywhere. There is something for everyone here. The owner Tim was very communicative to my many questions
Thanks Stephen - the massages are 2for1, and I don't have golf to offer, but I should (and will) specify this in my listing (as well as tennis not free, and gondola now only with a ticket to the park - so sorry!
Fantastic Stay with an Outstanding Host and Resort!
We had an amazing stay at the Vidanta Grand Luxxe 3BD/3BA in Building 4. Tim, the VRBO host, was fantastic—responsive and easy to work with, making the booking process seamless. The unit was spacious, luxurious, and perfect for our group of three couples, even accommodating a group of ten on a few evenings.
Leslie, our concierge, was outstanding, ensuring every detail of our stay was perfect with reservations and recommendations. The resort itself exceeded expectations with beautiful pools, a stunning beach, and excellent restaurants. Highly recommend renting from Tim and can’t wait to return!
Everything was as expected, great. It is the 6th time we come and spend one week in Vidanta with the entire family. Except the checking which was really painful, this resort gets better and better. Also to mention, prices gets significantly higher.
VRBO host was great while booking and answering questions we had! The property was beautiful, room was excellent. But at check in, they didn't take discover card, and had trouble running our visa as credit. Then we got stuck with a timeshare pitch that was supposed to be 1 hour (in exchange for free breakfast, gondola ride, water/music show), but it was 3 and we had to push hard to get away even then.

Chelsea, I’m sorry about the sales people - they should have let you know that their presentation was not required for the gondola ride (it’s included with my platinum membership) and the music/water show is open to everyone - I will let the resort know that they shouldn’t be treating their guests like this - again, so sorry! Tim
We loved this trip and had such a wonderful experience. Tim was amazing to work with, answered all of my questions very promptly, quickly secured a reservation, and walked us through the process of how everything works as a first time timeshare visitors. we were able to utilize his benefits of being a platinum member which did take it advantage of the two for one spa treatments in our spa tower room.
I could go on and on, just know for a family of 5 (7,10,12 yr boys) we had an amazing time and cannot wait to return, we very seriously considered extending our trip for an additional week. This is definitely the type of resort you could enjoy for two weeks and never repeat any restaurant, pool, or activity.

Thanks so much for such a nice review - I’m so happy that you enjoyed your stay - best regards!
We have stayed at the Vidanta property many times over the last decade. This was our first time at the Grand Luxxe. Gorgeous property. Great pools for both families and adults only. It is easy to get around the property, as it is quite large. They have shuttles to take you to all the different areas of the resort, you just need to be patient and wait for the appropriate shuttle. Being at Grand Luxxe means you can access all areas of the resort. Unfortunately, Vidanta makes it very difficult to get off the property, you want to travels into Puerta Vallarta. But if you want to sit back and relax, this is a great resort. Lots of things to do for all ages, restaurants and a plaza (mini grocery store and place to buy items you may have forgotten). Just be aware that the prices are m
We travelled with teens and preschool age. Kids clubs were great and the evening party was amazing for the kids! Staff were everywhere and service top notch. Check-in was certainly off-putting as they try and get you to schedule a "tour" with them. Advice.....schedule tour and then cancel later if you choose not to go. Easier to handle later over the phone.
Spa services were fabulous. We scheduled 10 that week and 3 haircuts. Excellent service and experience. I also LOVED the food options. For the most party, the food was reasonably priced and great options. Favorite was the breakfast at Playa Mangar. Dinner up at Quinto best view ever!
Booing through Tim was great! He was soooo responsive and accommodating with any questions we had. We would book through him again in a heartbeat!
Great location. Tim was very helpful and communicated often and responded quickly. Our flights were cancelled and Tim assisted us with extending our reservation. The hotel staff was extremely friendly.
Gorgeous property and a wonderful experience at Vidanta. The 3 bedroom suite was perfect. Beautifully designed and maintained and perfect for our large group. The staff and experience at Vidanta was top notch and we can’t wait to go back!
The Spa Suite at Grand Luxxe PV has great spaces, 3 bedrooms, kitchen, dinning and living areas; the terrace is huge with awesome views.
All the different amenities and with the top membership gave us and the kids the opportunity to be all the best spots at all Vidanta resort!
Tim was a wonderful host, since the beginning by not only sharing all information in an accurate and timely manner; but giving us suggestions and warm messages before en during our stay.
Overall, it was an excellent experience!!!
Tim(owner) was so helpful, a great communicator really made traveling internationally and with kids easy. I couldn't say enough about how helpful Tim was. The place was great, just as advertised. Tim's status allowed us to play golf and get massages at discounted rates. I would 100% recommend and plan on being back.

About the host
Hosted by Tim
I'm a CPA nearing retirement - working as a tax analyst for a software company. I live in Rancho Palos Verdes (Los Angeles area) CA with my pocket pit bull "Justin" that doesn't have any hair on his back, because kids poured battery acid on his back - regardless, he still loves and trust people, and I don't want to be away from him too long - so I'm here listing a few weeks that I can't use myself, and don't want to see the weeks go to waste.
Why they chose this property
For me, it's always been about the expansive grounds with all the beautiful foliage, lakes, and wildlife - as well as the numerous walking trails and swimming pools - some areas lively and bustling, and others where you can just find a place to yourself.
Initially, I owned at Nuevo Vallarta's Mayan Palace (which then extended to where the Grand Luxxe is today) - then upgraded to the Grand Mayan for access to its Waterpark - then the Grand Bliss which was a little quieter and newer - then the Grand Luxxe so I could use all the facilities and go anywhere in the resort (which at the time was just north of the Ameca River) - now the "Estates" which also includes south of the Ameca River, and finally the "Empire" part of the "Estates" that will be oceanfront (if it's ever built) - so no more upgrades when I go back this year!
I also knew that I might not be able to use all of my Grand Luxxe weeks - so it's great that I pay a "usage fee" only if I reserve a week - unlike other resorts that require an annual fee, regardless of whether a week is used or not.
What makes this property unique
The property has a great little shopping center with a deli, bakery, chocolates, frozen yogurt, and a grocery store - so you can snack in between meals, or eat in if you'd like. There are restaurants for every taste, but my favorites are the breakfast buffet, Bistro Bleu (French Bistro), and (of course) Custom-Made Burger! Vidanta also has an app where you can explore all of the food, activities, and layout of the resort.
