Great weekend getaway

Quick weekend trip with our kids. Once you make it up that hill of a gravel driveway (off-roading for a car), you’ll find the house is beautiful, clean, and offers an incredible view of the ocean. Master bathroom’s sink is functional, but tiny and requires expert aim to brush your teeth. Otherwise, beds are comfortable and rooms are nicely decorated. We enjoyed the hot tub and made s’mores with the fire pit. Location is a quick drive into town and the beach. Overall, great property and would definitely come back!

Comfy house, great views, terrible driveway

We enjoyed the house quite a bit once we were able to get to it. The driveway is very steep and full of ruts. My car couldn't make it up, so we had to park at the bottom and walk up with all our stuff, which was a challenge for the two disabled folks. Once there, we loved the house and the fantastic view. Some more bowls and plates would have been helpful, but we managed just fine and enjoyed our vacation.

Critters

The covers leading into the crawl space on the south side of the house were off. The first night of the stay I couldn’t sleep until after 2am because raccoons were scratching above the master and master bath. Luckily my dog was with me, and she tracked the movement and I went back to sleep when she did. I would definitely get an exterminator.

Lovely house, terrible driveway

Renters should be aware that the last section of the driveway is steep with lots of moguls. We made it but have all-wheel drive and we got there before dark. The house is plenty large enough for 6, but there aren’t enough bowls or utensils for 6. The view is very nice. You may book through VRBO, but it seems that company subcontracts with Meredith Lodging. I’d like to just deal with one company, which is why I rated communication a three. Meredith was requesting ID documents be sent by email which seems unsafe, so I had to spend an hour going to the physical office of Meredith Lodging.

First impression OK. But when you start to try to use lamps,BBQ, dishes, TV, dining table, kitchen drawers, there are problems that should be addressed. Some lamps don't work, some light bulbs are out.BBQ unusable because of encrusted filth.The TV very hard to use, looked like some equipment had been removed.Some dirty dishes on top of fridge. Kitchen needs thoroughcleaning of sticky everywhere especially dining table.There was no guest book to explain how to use anything.Obviously the cleaning company is falling way down, though the bathrooms were clean.When we stripped the beds the pillows were ugly with stains etc.We had a good time because we ignored all the ikinessand broken or unusable things.The view is totally great. That's what we enjoyed the most.Please have someone else clean and take care of thatproperty. It has been abused some. Thank you

4WD vehicle needed!!

The house was lovely and the views were amazing, but the driveway and drive up to the house was a true back-roading experience. Thank goodness we had one 4WD vehicle but our other car wasn't. We were able to get our front wheel drive CMax up the STEEP, deep pot-hole riddled hill by driving backwards up the treacherous drive. It was terrifying and we thought we might get stuck. I am shocked that this aspect was not mentioned in the house listing. We ended up leaving the CMax up at the house and using the 4WD vehicle, which was a gas-guzzler and not the car we had planned to use. Also, I had emailed the property manager about a later check-out and never heard back, so communication got a low-rating from me.

Beautiful View

This house was clean and spacious for our family of 4, plus dog. My husband loved the large TV. I loved the large kitchen sink. The kids loved the hot tub! The hot tub was clean, and the hose was right there so you could add water if needed. We roasted marshmallows for breakfast on the patio propane fireplace, that was a real treat.The showers had good pressure and the toilets both worked properly (always a relief). We reached out to the managers for a propane tank refill for the BBQ and they were right out with one. Great service. So, the driveway, we drove a 1 ton truck, big and heavy, and we use 4wd to climb up. There were quite a collection of washboard ruts, and it is a bit steep. The parking in front of the house was pretty good. The circle driveway is small but surprisingly our big truck still managed it. We found the vacuum and broom in the garage so we could clean up the sand messes after playing on the beach. We had a fabulous weekend.

This property is not close to the beach, actually right outside Pacific City- have to drive a bit to get over to beach. Also not a ‘vacation rental friendly’ neighborhood……

Great ocean view

Spent time on the spacious deck, in the hot tub and lounging on the sectional. Kitchen was workable and open floor plan made for easy conversations. Steep gravel driveway. Place was clean though the bar stools gotta go. Would definitely come back!

Amazing view!

Our family of five visited for three nights and we were able to quickly drive to the town center, the beach, and surrounding areas very easily. We loved the view, really appreciated the ultra clean hot tub, and everything inside was nicely updated. We only had two issues on our trip. The first was that both the outside and inside had a lot of spider webs and alive spiders. The outside would be understandable within reason but the inside had several areas as well. The second issue was the very steep drive up to the home. The road into the neighborhood is packed dirt and navigable in low gear but the drive way up to the house was loose gravel that was challenging to navigate for a sedan. Be prepared if you are visiting for the driveway up.
