About this property

Gorgeous, secluded cottage in Magnetawan Provincial Park

Note: The cottage is boat access only. Water taxi, rental from Harris Lake Marina, or bring your own.

Come stay at our quiet and secluded family cottage located on the Magnetawan River. The two bedroom + loft cottage is at the end of a picturesque lake, and backs on to miles of hiking trails. Spend time lounging on a private dock, exploring the lake by boat, or hiking and extensive network of trails to find the perfect fishing hole. Bass, pike, pickerel and sunfish are all regulars on the end of a fishing line.

The cottage is open concept, with unobstructed views of the lake. Lots of room to lounge, relax and read. Go for a hike to take in the beauty of the Canadian Shield, and explore the woods, or head into town to the French River Trading Post or to Pointe Au Baril for ice cream, fish and chips and more.

Easily accessible from the GTA (just a 2.5 hour drive), our cottage is boat access only. Bring your own boat or rent from Harris Lake Marina (https://www.harrislakemarina.com/). The cottage in on The Magnetewan River, and is accessed through Harris Lake Marina via a 15 - 20 minute boat ride.

Note, cell phone reception is generally reliable, however, is not strong enough to support a 'hot spot' or data at all times.

Perfect stay
The property was a perfect little getaway! The cottage is beautiful. We loved the huge deck and the views to the water. The cottage had all the amenities you could want and Liz has all your basic needs stocked. The area is secluded and very quiet which is nice if you like your privacy. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina and did a lot of fishing. It was a great stay. Thanks Liz!!

A place to unplug and unwind.
The property was what we look for in a cottage. A small simple place to stay without the bells and whistles. It gives the feeling of living away from the bustle of modern city but still has the essentials to make life comfortable. Inside the cottage was clean and well furnished to suit or needs (we think the old black couch has seen better days though), Outside it would have been nice not to have the ladders and other signs of the roof repairs laying around making it look a little bit like a building site. A set of patio furniture for the deck would be nice. Overall we enjoyed the cottage and it’s location. It was a nice break and we would stay there again.
