Best kept secret in Rangeley!

There are not many properties like this available these days. A true farmhouse with a covered porch AND screen porch overlooking fields, mountains and ponds. Located at the end of the road, true peace & quiet...a true hidden gem. Thanks for letting us stay there. Morton & Furbish Vacation Rentals response: Thank you so much for staying with us!! We're so happy you all got to enjoy some peace and quiet at this beautiful property :)

Relaxing

Great time. Very relaxing. Dogs even swam in the farm pond. Wonderful views and centrally located …but quiet and peaceful. Only downfall is stairs are steep. Had to carry the dogs up and down. Regardless … we'll be back!!

Couldn't have asked for anything better!

This house, a renovated farmhouse that retains its charm and is easy to settle down in , is situated on oodles of acres of fields and woods. It has its own private ponds. You have views of mountains in the distance. You see no one and hear no traffic except private planes going overhead at times. The bed we slept in was quite comfortable, the towels large, soft and spotless, and it had the best equipped kitchen I have been in in any rental I have used. The huge porch and the screened in room off one side of the porch were perfect to be in after hiking. You could easily get lost just staring into the fog in the early morning, the distance during the day, and the sunsets at night. For us, the immense quiet was delightful and healing, as we come from an area that had millions of people, millions of cars, and an overload of noise. We will be back, and gladly.

Beauregard

Beauregard is an old Rangeley house that has been upgraded into a perfectly functional short-term stay home. Clean, neat, with all the necessaries, its plus is a country setting, isolated in a meadow area, where wild turkeys and deer stroll by almost by the hour. Another plus is the quiet - no cars, boats, or other town sounds can be heard. If its quiet you like, its quiet you get. No real negatives, save if you are elderly, or have vision/walking problems, the only bathroom is upstairs, and the stairs, being an old-style home, are very steep. So, for safety reasons, I would not recommend that people with vision or balance problems, typically the elderly, consider this property. Also, disabled people would find the stairs a challenge. Save the steep stairs, a wonderful place for three people, given two upstairs bedrooms, one with a twin, the other with two beds. I came to fish for two days alone, perfect for my mission, and a place I will ask for again when I come next year. Just what I needed, just what I expected.
