Enjoy your own kitchen, an outdoor living room, and a newly installed upper deck verandah with a great breeze and views of the Harbour! The host Jonelle was lovely and very accommodating. Aloe cottage was in a beautiful spot and the roof top patio made morning coffees exceptional. Being fully immersed in the jungle there are critters around and some roaches decided to try and crash our vacation but they were quickly eradicated. We will miss Aloe and hope to return one day.

Lovely and quiet cottage! Great view.

Lovely cottage with gorgeous upper sundeck. View on Falmouth harbour. Drive carefully on the access road. ;-). Clean with good beds and proper hot showers. Jason and Satriece are great hosts. Recommend.

A Great Cottage Off the Beaten Track

Aloe Cottage is an affordable, well-equipped place to stay with a small family. The highlight of the property is certainly the rooftop deck that overlooks Falmouth Harbor. Jason the property manager is extremely responsive and friendly. Wifi is reliable. Most swimmable beaches are driving distance so a car is highly recommended. The cottage is more or less open-air so just be aware a few types of insects may show themselves now and again. Would recommend to anyone willing to venture outside the most touristy areas of Antigua for a nice stay.

Secluded with a view

The Aloe Cottage is a nice cottage outside of town. You will want a rental car or taxi, walking back and forth will be a bit much. No worries though, there is a place to park at the cottage. Because it is in a quiet and secluded area of English Harbor, the property gets very dark at night. Great for watching the stars from the rooftop deck. The property manager, Jason, is the best. He is literally the neighbor, and that made the stay feel a bit safer. Jason was great with communications and offered several recommendations when asked. We stayed for several weeks and ran into a few snags. Jason was right on top of everything, even though none of it was his doing. We spent most of our time diving with Soul Immersions Diving in town, beach hopping and drinking English Harbor rum. Pigeon Beach and Rendezvous Beach are our favorites. Plenty of restaurants in town for a variety.

Don't rely on customer service or working hot water and gas

When we arrived at the property we got settled in and went to get ready for the night. After getting in the shower we ran out of hot water in less than 2 minutes. I called the property manager who told me to crawl under the house next door and see if the hot water heater had power running to it. The next morning, I woke up to make some eggs. Little did I know that the gas to the house had been disconnected. I called the property manager who told me that he would try and get there in the next hour or two. After these two experiences we told the host we would like to check out early. He has a 24 hour cancellation policy and we had booked for 6 nights. He took the keys from the house and told us that he would talk to VRBO about a refund. After we got back home, he told us that he could not accommodate any refund. The host was rude, misleading and his solution was to rent a more expense property of his that had more up to date amenities.

This review is neither honest nor fair; there was and is hot water though after 90 minutes of continued use, it will run out. The stove does require a spark to be lit, I apologized for not explaining, I thought it was common knowledge. The guests did receive a partial refund for this inconvenience. Thank you kindly for your review
