Our teens had lots of indoor entertainment options - the game room was a hit. It was a short easy walk for ice cream, a local coffee shop and pizza. The onsite boat launch was very convenient. We enjoyed our stay!

Long weekend for a family wedding

It was the perfect place to stay with 4 families all with kids from 1yrs to 9 year old. Lots of fun things to do. We were in town for family wedding and the space and location worked for what we were looking for.

The host was amazing , the home was stocked with all your needs, and then some… It was like visiting a family members home, so inviting and as we entered the home they had a beautiful gift waiting for us… Best host ever… They should give other owners a lesson on how to properly do this business…

Great family vacation!

Great house, right on the lake with lots of things to do with the family! We played games, had a movie night, a bonfire, went fishing and rented a boat. Plus the massage chair was the best!

My family stayed in this house while attending our family reunion and absolutely loved it! Their remarks - kitchen well-stocked, beds very comfortable, house well-decorated; only recommendations (because we are a tall family!) is to put a low clearance sign on the entry to the media room!! Overall - it was great and we would love to rent it again when we have family in the area!

We had a very nice stay, 6 adults and 5 kids. Enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably and move about the home. Kitchen was nice and had almost everything you needed. There were plenty of towels and washcloths for the bathroom, along with shampoo and body wash in all showers. Owners were responsive when we reached out. Lake was nice with a private boat launch and dock. Lots of local restaurants and stores. We rented a pontoon for a few hours from Jet Funn down the street. Definitely would recommend this stay!

Family Vacation

Our family gathered at this house for a long weekend and we had the best time. Great access to the water and marinas, the home was comfortable and large enough for the group, and it was easy to access from the airport. This property is located next to a commercial building, but we got over that with the amazing sunsets and nice lawn for playing outdoors. Thank you for the great stay!

Great location and a lot of fun things to do!

Great location and amenities. The kids loved the access to the water for fishing and the game room and movie theatre in the basement. The hosts were in contact prior to our arrival and helped us remotely when we had trouble with the thermostat. The basement has a low ceiling for tall people, so watch your head. The grill in the back yard could use a good cleaning and maybe some light repair to rusted parts, but overall, a great find! We recommend! Thank you!

Great getaway

Christmas family getaway was everything we expected. The house is beautiful. Perfect set up so our littel one could go to bed and we could play games in the game room. Looking forward to returning during the summer and being able to use all the outside amenities. Property manager was a delight and extremely helpful with everything.

The pics of property on line are deceiving and outdated. The outdoors is quite run down and not kept up. Rotting wood deck, and landscaping a mess. Inside met our needs well but overall not clean. Beds are fine. This property is very overpriced.

Love the location of this home, and the direct access to the water. The pirate ship in the yard was a huge hit with our kids. The rooms were all well-appointed and comfortable as well. My only criticism is the basement ceilings are so low that it was hard for some members to stand down there. Otherwise, we had a great time. Fabi was a very accommodating contact as well. Thank you!

Lake House fun

Family of 10, six adults and 4 kids enjoyed the amenities of the home. Great deck for grilling and watching the lake. Dining table set up for ten. Large kitchen. Sandbox and swings for the youngsters. Fire pit for the evenings. Great pier for tying up your boat. And there are 4 bathrooms. There are basement activities as well....foosball, table hockey, pool table and home theatre.

Wonderful Winter Vacay

-This house was so perfect for our trip. There were 4 families and we never felt like we were cramped. -The house was very clean and had absolutely everything we needed for an easy, convenient stay. -On the cold days there was plenty to keep everyone busy with all of the game options. The theatre and massage chair were a wonderful way to relax. We didn’t need to leave the house to be entertained, but we did make a short drive to grand Geneva for some sledding fun. -Watching the bald eagles on the lake was enjoyable for everyone. -I would like to add that the house and it’s open floor plan made traveling with my niece, who has an oxygen machine, easy and allowed for so many memories to be mad. This house was a great way to spend our family trip and I would absolutely stay there again.

Met all our criteria for a vacation rental

Owners were gracious in letting us arrive a couple of hours early so we were able to get in some boating on a lovely Friday afternoon. Boating was facilitated by their private boat ramp and ability to tie up to their pier. Large kitchen and dining area meant everyone could sit at the dining table and multiple people could be in the kitchen at the same time. Cool morning meant exploring the home's many game rooms....such fun and a man land 4th bathroom. Little ones enjoyed the sandbox and swing set. Owner was very responsive to questions. A few items needed attention but that is often the case with vacation homes and nothing impeding us having a good time. We plan to use this home again.

Dock and lake unusable due to duck poop; owners no help

The place was fine, but the dock was completely infested with duck poop making it unusable. When we called to ask the owners how to handle, we were told there was no working outdoor hose and no broom - basically no solution. The propane tank was also missing to the grill requiring us to buy our own. We were pretty bummed over the whole situation - won’t be back.

And we are sorry the measures we took to enhance your stay did not meet your expectations. We strive to give our guests the absolute best experience they can possibly have at our home. We are extensive users of vacation rentals and, in every interaction with our guests, we try to put ourselves in their shoes. We felt we did this during your visit, and we were quite surprised to see your review. During this time of the year, we regularly get fowl as they migrate south and, on occasion, they leave droppings between the time we clean the house and when guests check-in. We clean our deck using a broom, which we have designated specifically for that purpose. When you called to inform us of the mess we explained where the broom was located within the home, so we are perplexed by your characterization of the circumstance. To avoid any confusion in the future, we have implemented other measures to resolve the duck poop matter going forward. Regarding the propane tank, we were genuinely sorry for the inconvenience caused when you encountered the tank ran empty. This is why not only offered to reimburse you for the tank, but we reimbursed you four times the value of the replacement tank you had to procure. To reiterate, we are regular users of vacation rentals, so we do understand the impact of different circumstances on your experience. It is with this as a backdrop that we have and will continue to do all in our power to make our guests' stay as enjoyable and as memorable as possible. If you change your mind and decide to return to Captain's Cove, we will do all we can to exceed your expectations.
