Great location, easy trail down to lake. House was good with no issues. We were taking motorcycle rides each day to see senery. Went to caves in Arkansas and a trip into Branson.
The host and property were amazing! I would highly recommend this location for a quiet hideaway experience. It is a bit more remote than I had expected, but for us that was just fine.
We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the kayaks especially the double one. Had all the life jackets and tubes to enjoy the water. The kids enjoyed the mini ping pong and pool table.
Had an amazing time! Recommend Dogwood Canyon and Top of the Rock. Beautiful lake view and loved all the extra amenities.

Great place for a family weekend
We would definitely stay again.Seven of us stayed there and we all agreed it was great. The house was great. We really enjoyed eating all of our meals on the covered deck. It was far from stores, etc, but that's what we wanted. It was only 15 mins to a Dollar General that had everything we needed.A couple of us used a kayak and paddleboard to float to Mayo Beach and met the rest of us there to swim. There was a nice paddleboard, two person inflatable kayak, and two plastic kayaks. The inflatable kayak was not fully inflated when we got there, so no one wanted to risk paddling a mile to Mayo, but it did seem to hold air once inflated. The plastic kayaks are pretty small, suitable for up to 130 lbs, so don't expect an adult to use them.
We had a great time! Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well-equipped, and the location was remote and peaceful. The kayaking and hiking were spectacular and we loved watching the moon rise over the lake while enjoying a beverage on the balcony. S’mores one night on the outdoor fire pit, and plenty of room for cards, games and puzzle time. Would highly recommend!
We absolutely loved this property! Within 30 minutes to Shell knob, 1 hour to Branson. Off the beaten path, but still had neighbors around. Home is well equipped with everything we needed - grill, kitchen utensils, cook ware, etc, kayaks, linens, bedding, shampoo - everything! pet and family friendly, but do be ware that outside is very steep to get to water - may not be great for littles. Other than that, its perfect!

Fantastic Stay
Arrived to a meticulously clean house with a nice view of the lake. Our stay was very comfortable and we enjoyed our time on the deck. Kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs and the extra refrigerator in the basement was nice as we had packed quite a bit in coolers. Appliances were in great condition/new. After arriving it was nice to find frozen beverage glasses ready in the freezer :) Thank you!
Overall very nice stay and we will certainly look to use this house again.
We had a very enjoyable stay. The house was clean and exactly like the photos. The neighborhood is secluded, private and very quiet. The lake access is just that. It's access and not necessarily a great swimming area, however there are a couple of public access areas fairly close by to fill that need. That is not a knock on the property, just a fact. The access does allow for the launching of the supplied kayaks and paddle boards which is a nice touch. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to unwind after a long day of adventures at the surrounding attractions then this place foots the bill.
This was our first time staying in this area, the house was ok but I feel the bedrooms need to be arranged to not have the bed in front of windows. The head of the bed was right underneath the windows. In both upstairs bedrooms the beds could have been turned into the enter walls for safety purposes. As dark as the property is there should be more lighting outside for security reasons.
The property was absolutely amazing. Only had a couple of small issues with property. Need more nightlights in the ballway going to the back bedrooms on main floor, and some kind of lighting around the interior step. Other issue was pictures show pristine shoreline. We discovered the shoreline to be log packed and unable to fish from shore. Outside of that had an outstanding time and loved everything about the property. The kitchen was very well stocked and it was easy to find everything we needed. Wish I had this house back in Kansas. Thank you for letting us stay!
Expecting clean, stocked, & as advertised place to enjoy our family Thanksgiving for 8 of us. When we got there I contacted the property manager about a vacuum, it was evident that was not done. Informed it was broken & owner had been informed along with # of other issues w/o response from owner to property manager. It spiraled from there. She did offer to send someone to clean but we were already in the process of cleaning before the rest of our guests arrived. We had a number of issues that started to compound leading me to request some sort of compensation/refund.Told she would contact the owner.Still waiting on refund. No Response to followupThe house was not just dirty it was filthy.Hair everywhere dirty towels in closet used tissues.Dirty dishes & dishwasher not working properly. There were a number of maintenance issues including nasty smell from water. Outside lights not working TV remote needed batteries replaced, trip to Dollar General as they didn't have the right size there. We had no trash bags except for small ones for the bathrooms & only a roll and a half of toilet paper for 8 people scheduled to be there for 3 nights.Another trip to DG on THANKSGIVING.Planned on grilling burgers Friday w/ the provided gas grill, it was filthy & had 3 tanks, 2 empty another was damaged & wouldn't work. I asked for someone to come swap tanks. No one came.Porch furniture hadn't been cleaned in ages.Property advertised games in garage.Unable to open with code provided.NO response.

Nice place, couple issues
This is a nice place on a quiet street. They are not exaggerating when they say it’s not near anything like grocery stores or restaurants. The floor was quite dirty upon arrival, almost like people walked around with muddy shoes. Most of the horizontal surfaces had to be wiped down and there was dog hair build up in most nooks and crannies. Most of this was surface level and a quick fix- but not what one wants to be doing right when you arrive at a place. The garage was not available to park in, they’d had a situation with a previous renter. Kayaks were usable and high quality. There is no lake access though. The house sits in an eddy where flood debris and logs jam up. If you climb through that, you can access the water, but it’s difficult. Ticks were bad, but I think that’s normal for the area. The fire pit spot was quite nice. The kids enjoyed the game room downstairs and everyone had their own spaces to stretch out, which was nice. Kitchen was well stocked. The internet worked just fine. Nice place overall. Within 30-60 minutes drive of many neat parks and places. I think we’d go for somewhere a little less isolated next time, but that was to be expected.

House and surroundings were good! We all had a great time. Beach access was extremely limited with wood debris. Kayak and paddle board was great. Ample space and good layout of house. Beds comfortable.Three negatives:1. Spiral staircase has large gap around top of staircase where small children or pets could easily fall below to basement. Had to barricade around staircase though it did have a locking gate at the top!2. When preheating the oven, noxious fume that caused watering/stinging eyes came from an oily black mat on the bottom . Had to remove mat and air out the kitchen for 1/2 hour. After mat removal oven was fine!3. Propane tank for BBQ was empty. A new tank was brought the next day and everything worked fine!Again , a good experience and Dana our contact was super responsive to any questions/issues we may have had!

Great location but cleanliness issues
Booked this house for a quick weekend getaway. We wanted to have lake access which it definitely does. Overall it’s essentially as advertised. Checkin was easy and the kayaks were nice to use. Cleanliness was subpar. The hot water smelled terrible. There’s obviously an issue with the hot water heater. The main fridge did not seem to be working properly when we arrived as it was not keeping anything cool. Went to use the grill the first night to find it was a rusted mess with live mice living in it and sitting on the grates when we opened it. It’s in the woods so it’s expected there’s going to be bugs, etc. however there are a ton of bugs inside and out. One of our guest woke up cover in bug bites one morning. Must have had something in their bed. When we messages the rental management company they were apologetic but told us to reach out to the owner of the property to address any issues. We will not be staying here again.

Hi Kurt, thanks for letting us know about your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following:
-"We are glad you enjoyed the location!
-Regarding the smell in the hot water, please rest assured that it comes from well water, which has been thoroughly tested and is completely safe. We've taken steps to address this issue, including draining the hot water and cleaning the tank on two occasions. Our next planned upgrade involves the installation of a whole new system. Additionally, we have a filter and water softener in place to enhance water quality for our guests.
-We wish to inform you that we are presently in the process of upgrading the grill.. We're purchasing a new one for our guests to enjoy.
-To ensure your utmost comfort and hygiene, please rest assured that we regularly clean and refresh all our linens and bedding.
-As for the fridge, it's brand new, and we've verified its temperature using a thermometer—it's maintaining a consistent 38 degrees to keep your items fresh.
Our commitment to all our guests is to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests as evidenced in all other reviews."
Super clean, very nice place! It’s kind of “out there”, not being close to anything except the lake but that’s what we wanted. Getting to the lake was tough right now because if the low water but we made it just fine. Caught several fish from the bank. Lots of deer in the yard!
Pictures don’t do the house justice. Very nice and comfortable. We noticed a sewer odor when running any water in the house but it dissipated after a while. Overall, excellent pet friendly property and would love to rent again except for the ridiculous vrbo fees which almost doubles the cost of the rental but that is not the owners fault. Loved the deck, the location and having everything provided and then some.

Peaceful Retreat
We were two couples renting this lovely cabin. SUPER CLEAN and the 2 king beds were the most comfortable we're ever experienced in a rental. Beware that you are in a remote location and stores are not nearby. Even though the photos don't show it, there is a dinning table and 6 chairs on the deck and also 2 Adirondack chairs. Also more camp chairs for sitting outside. Extra bonus room and extra refrigerator on the lower level. Everything we could have wanted for our stay was provided except for an iron and ironing board, but please note the description of the property did not include them. Host was very responsive and they may provide one now, since we asked. The water is not easily accessible for swimming/boating from the property due to the large amount of driftwood. It was not a problem for us since it was October we were not planning on swimming. We did rent a pontoon boat from Eagle Rock Marina, super nice folks and a wonderful experience. We had deer walking through the yard both morning and evening. Would definitely rent again.

Beautiful lake view. Sunrise ans stars were awesome. Nice place appliances and cookware... all top notch. Access to water a bit rough but doable. Kayaked from there.
Thanks for the great stay.
We wanted to take the kiddos on a fun weekend at the lake before school started & this trip was a success! We brought our boat & launched 10min away at the RA site. It was not the best, but it worked. There’s no dock so keep that in mind. We also brought our dogs who loved the water & exploring. There are some stickers in the area outside the house, so beware of that if you are out with pets! We drove our boat around & parked in the cove right by the house. Could even walk up to the house when needed. Comfortable home & beautiful view! We all had a blast!
