Mountain Retreat! Ruby's Roost Home & Loft

*2 units-COMBINED booking!* The sleepy town of Mentone invites you to slow down, sit back, and return to a time when front porches opened up to friends as well as vistas. With 5 beds, 3 baths, Ruby's Roost provides ample room for both entertainment and relaxation inside and outside. The 2nd home, Magpie Nest sits high in the trees above our detached garage. With a private entrance this cozy home boas an apartment living feel w/1 bedroom, one bath, and a fantastic view! We can't wait to host you!

The Space:
Upon arrival, enjoy the breathtaking scenery that can be appreciated from one of the many vantage points on our property. Come inside, and you will find the view is just gorgeous! The main level of our home boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and an open concept living space. Guests will enjoy our full, eat-in kitchen, stocked with all the basics you need to settle in and feel "at home." Our living room provides ample seating options (including a queen size sleeper sofa and futon) and a large flat-screen TV complete with Roku. Unfortunately, the fireplace is currently out of commission, but we hope to have it up and running soon! Bedroom #1 and a full bathroom are located on the main level as well.
Please continue to the upper level of our house, where guests will continue to enjoy views of the valley below. Bedrooms # 2 and #3, a full bathroom, and laundry can be found on this level.
The lower level of the home offers bedroom #4, which includes a small kitchenette and an additional sitting area. Bedroom #5 is also on the lower level and is perfect for the kids with a twin bed and a full over twin bunk.
Make sure to try and narrow down your favorite outside spot as well! With three levels of decking that wraps around the house, as well as a fire pit and other various places to sit back and relax, you might find yourself spending more time outside than inside!
Magpie Nest (detached garage apartment)
The Magpie Nest is an above garage apartment that offers breathtaking views and natural beauty. Our cozy little treehouse offers guests an open-style living space with an eat-in kitchen stocked with all the basics you need to settle in and feel "at home." The living room has a TV complete with Roku so you can relax after exploring our sleepy little town and all it has to offer! A generous bedroom with a queen-size bed and a full bathroom with fresh updates complete our home! Don't forget to take time to checkout the beautiful wildlife around the property, especially the ladybugs!

***We love our big, warm windows - and in the winter, so do ladybugs! They are harmless but resistant to pest control treatments. Please open and close the door to the porch quickly to reduce the number that get inside. If they do, we’ve left a small vacuum in the corner of the dining room. You can suck them up and dump them back outside!***

Guest Access:
The house has a digital keypad at the front door which will provide you access to the house. The code will be provided upon check-in. You will have full and private access to the home.

The Neighborhood:
We a located in a rural area. While we do have "neighbors" our lots are large and there is privacy.

Getting Around:
We recommend driving and offer parking for our guests.

Other Things to Note:
We require a signed rental agreement and for guest to be 25 years of age to book.

If you notify us of your intent to cancel prior to the lapse of the free cancellation period, we will return 97% of your payment. The other 3% will already have been collected by the credit card processing company, and we have no way to return that portion of the payment.

We are a pet friendly home. Pets must be crated when they are left unattended in the home. We do not allow pets on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. All pets require a non-refundable pet fee. If there is evidence of pet hair on the furniture, excess hair in the home, stains, or waste found in the yard or home, you will be charged the cost to clean this. In the event that a security deposit is collected, we will retain all or part of the security deposit to cover any costs associated with additional cleaning due to pets.

Interaction with Guests:
We like to give our guests maximum privacy, so we offer contact-free checkin via a digital door code. Just know that we are only a phone call away if ever the need arises during your stay!
