About this property

The Crab Pot at Tuan - Huge Family Home

The Crab Pot is a double storey large family house with 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and full kitchen upstairs PLUS one separate bedroom with en-suite in a granny flat type setup downstairs making it perfect for large groups, multiple families or three generations. The lounge room, master bedroom and granny flat have air conditioning and the other bedrooms have pedestal fans. A large kitchen overlooks the outdoor deck which has ocean views.

Tuan is a very quiet fishing town with plenty of wildlife surrounding the house. We always have kangaroos, birds, ducks and more hanging around to look at. Please don’t get too close they’re wild animals.

The Crab Pot at Tuan is a family friendly boating adventure waiting to happen. Got a boat? Love fishing? Crabbing? Towing the kids around on the tube? Then this is the place for you!

Tuan has a pontoon, double lane, all tide deep water boat ramp and is just a quick boat trip out to K'Gari (Fraser Island). Down the front (a stones throw away) there is a kids playground and a sandy beach to swim and play at.

In Boonooroo (5 min drive) there is a golf club that serves wonderful food on a Saturday night (you must book by Thursday) and a bowls club that serves meals on Friday and Saturdays. Please note there are no shops in town, the closest is Maryborough (15 min drive).

Along with our other wildlife we do get quite a few mozzies and midgies which are worse at different times of the year. We provide coils and bug spray but advise you bring your own as well and cover up particularly at dusk.

There is plenty of on site parking for your cars and boats on the grass or driveway.

We stayed at the Crab Pot whilst working to clear our mother's house out to prepare it for sale. The Crab Pot was clean, accessible and roomy - all important factors for a large group of adults. Fabulous fishing retreat

A goup of friends keen on fishing and crabbing booked this house for 4 days. The house is well set up and most comfortable and was clean and tidy on arrival.. Linen and towels were supplied as were a selection of basic essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms. Inside the home is tastefully decorated and has aircon to lounge and main bedroom . Plenty of fans for other rooms. Large deck for dining and relaxing leads from the kitchen. The BBQ and Gas Crab cooker were excellent. There is a large fish cleaning table for the lucky anglers. Downstairs granny flat is selfcontained and spacious. Under the house is enclosed and offers plenty of storage . Numerous powerpoints for portable eskies/fridges. Full laundry facilities are on hand . Pleant of space in the large backyard for vehicle and boat trailers. Close to boat ramp and in a very quiet , friendly location. The Hosts, Tom and Emma were very helpful and easy communicate with. Highly recommended as a base for a fishing trip.

We would love to welcome you to The Crab Pot. We have spent time creating the perfect family holiday home with memories from our own childhoods and what we enjoyed about going on family holidays and hope to bring that to our own children now as well.

The Crab Pot is a huge family home big enough to house a couple of families. Overlooking the Great Sandy Straights in a quiet little fishing town, if you're a boating family its a fantastic spot for a quiet getaway, The house is an older house, we are slowly doing up but trying to keep some older character of the 'holiday house' feel from when we were kids.
