A beautiful little couples retreat on a quiet street but short drive to eateries and coffee. Extra goodies were left for us, champagne, chocolate , bread butter and eggs. A delightful weekend away. Would definitely stay again

Would highly recommend to all hosts.
Thank you for choosing Josephine's Cottage and hope you visit again soon:)
A clean, comfortable and cosy cottage in a private and well-located area. Good communication from the owners and lots of thoughtful touches - even turned on the heaters and lights in the cottage while we were driving up from Sydney on a cold Friday night. Would recommend Josephine's Cottage to friends and family!

Josephines Cottage is a new, stylish and comfortable place to stay in Wentworth Falls. Plenty of space and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Close to great bush walks and dog walks (but no secure outdoor space), and short driving distance to Leura and Katoomba. Very easy check in/out process and easy comms with Sandy.

It was an absolute pleasure having you stay. We are so happy you enjoyed your time at Josephine’s Cottage 😃
Surprised my partner for her 40th birthday and Josephine’s cottage didn’t disappoint. From the easy check in process to the little surprise of chocolates/bananas / bread /wine etc .
Very cosy /warm and clean . All that we needed was there . The king bed was immaculate. Location fantastic .
Didn’t meet Louise in person but was able to contact her easily through email .
Would recommend staying here 💯 and bonus we were able to bring along our baby ( Nutella ) dog ..
Thanks again ..
Unfortunately this property was recently bought by new owners and following my most recent stay in June 2023 I will not be returning again. Such a shame as I had always enjoyed my stays at the cottage in the past.

Linda.
This was your 2nd stay with us since we purchased the property.
Unfortunately on both occasions you have left the cottage in a disheveled and untidy state.
We trust that guests staying in the cottage and bringing their dogs respect our policy to ensure that any mess is cleaned up.
This was not the case with your stays as dog urine was found and not cleaned up. The cottage is equipped with paper towels and disinfectant and we would expect that this would have been done.
We make it very clear in our listing that all ‘doggie business’ is to be handled outside and not in the house.
Note - we have not charged you a cleaning fee.
You will see from our many 5 star reviews that guests love Josephines Cottage and respect our pet policy.
It is very unreasonable for you to rate our cottage so low when you did not respect our property.
We have a lot of guests that bring their furry friends to to date have not had any issues at all.
We arrived on a cold day and on opening the door, we were welcomed into the beautifully warm and well appointed cottage. Such thoughtfulness was evident everywhere- from the welcome basket of food and wine, heated towel rails in the bathroom and the well equipped kitchen. We were able to self cater with ease and relax in the cottage - a home away from home.
The cottage also has an incredibly comfortable bed and we slept really well.
It was so nice to be able to walk round nearby Wentworth Lake on the walking paths.
All in all, we had a lovely stay at Josephine’s Cottage. The hosts were excellent and replied promptly to any queries. I can highly recommend this cottage if you want something a bit special in the Blue Mountains.

Dear Liz & Gwynn,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review !
We are happy you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
Kind regards..Louise and Mark.
This is our second time stay in Josephine's Cottage, there are reasons we love this place:
the cottage has a full equipped kitchen, the place is very clean, bright and beautiful, the comfortable bed allows us to sleep very well during the chilly nights when we were there, excellent entertainment like Netflix TV so we can enjoy and relax in the evening.
The cottage also in a great location for walking, peaceful neighborhood area, very pleasant walk to Wentworth Falls Lake and shops.
Digital keypad entry was super easy to use and aided greatly in access,
the owner are really kind and generous, we didn't meet in person, but the communication was really clear, we could feel the warmness from the owner by the provision: the fresh bread, wine, sweets and cheese, the essentials were provided, what else do we need? highly recommend Josephine's Cottage for people who would like to have a great get away in the Blue Mountains.
Thank you Louise and Mark for everything!

Dear Michael & Mandy,
Thank you so much for your kind review. We truly appreciate your words and try always to make our valued guest’s stay memorable.
We look forward to your next stay with us.
Thank you again !
This property was exceptionally nice, with easy access just up a few steps from driveway; and then the front floor to ceiling windows, and plenty more windows elsewhere were perfect - allowing lots of natural light, with views to the Aussie bush across the road and my dog appreciated the floor height windows to watch the passing parade of people. The bush and trees all about could be viewed right through from the kitchen and living room; and similarly, the ample sized TV located between the large two front windows. The shutters on other windows could be fully opened to make it an extremely positive environment inside, especially with all of the white upholstery. It was beautiful in the mist.
I missed having no outside area in which to sit - either a deck or courtyard type area, but the splendid interior setting made up for this. I was at a loss that there was no enclosure for the dog, so my dog was dependent on me taking him outside for a walk on a leash, each time he needed to toilet (he is 11 years old but not trainable to return when called!). This certainly got me up and moving on waking, as we would then go on about half hour walk to the shops or walk all the way around the lake, which is a magnificent setting, with a mixture of bush walk and paths.
The kitchen was only very basically set up except for coffee machine, which was a treat for me - could do with some more utensils e.g. kitchen paper towels & champagne stopper (lucky I took my own of both), large bowls for fruit/salads, microwave cooking containers and storage containers. I needed to ask for hand washing up device and cloth to wipe down benches but owner was very helpful in providing these quickly.
Another notable feature was how friendly people were - neighbours and many I met while out walking. I was on my own with just my dog and I did not feel isolated or lonely at all. The cottage and environment helped me to contemplate and renew my spirits to face life ahead. Many thanks to the owners for providing such a place.

About the host

Mark & Louise have been residents of the Blue Mountains for more than 30 years.
Wentworth Falls is such a gorgeous place to live and we look forward to sharing our love for the area with our guests. Our favourite thing about living in the Mountains is the bush. We have access to some of the most beautiful walks in the world.
We look forward to having you stay and are happy to recommend many things to do & local restaurants and cafes.

Why they chose this property
Nestled in the heart of the Blue Mountains, the area surrounding Josephine’s Cottage is known for its dramatic escarpments, eucalyptus forests, and peaceful mountain villages. Just a couple of hours from Sydney, the region feels worlds away cooler air, misty mornings, and endless natural beauty.
The mountains are famous for their deep valleys, sandstone cliffs, and the blue haze created by millions of eucalyptus trees. Nearby lookouts reveal sweeping views across the Blue Mountains National Park, where waterfalls tumble into rainforest gullies and walking tracks wind through ancient bushland. Kangaroos, lyrebirds and cockatoos are common sights, especially in the quieter early mornings and evenings.
Around the cottage area, you’ll find charming mountain towns with cosy cafés, small bakeries, antique stores and local markets. Scenic drives, bushwalks, and sunset lookouts are all close by, making it easy to spend the day exploring before returning to the quiet comfort of the cottage.
It’s a place made for slow mornings, long walks, crisp mountain air and nights by the fire — the perfect setting for a romantic escape with your favourite person (and your dog 🐾).
What makes this property unique
We warmly welcome our guests and their furry friends, because great experiences are even better when shared with the whole family.
