This beautiful property is right across the I-205 bridge from the PDX Airport, offering a most convenient location for travelers. This home, also known as “Woods Landing”, is a nature preserve consisting of forest, meadows, streams and riverbank. It is located on the banks of the Columbia River with private beach access most times of the year. Beautiful natural habitat and wildlife including deer and eagles make this property a perfect get away.
We do not live on-site, so we do utilize cohosts and are just a phone call away for any questions that arise. We would love to hear about your stay! We do have a long-term tenant/basement renter. Woods Landing Home and property is part of the Columbia Grove and Woods Landing Preservation Projects, spearheaded by non-profit and community organizations and conservationists in the community to preserve vital sections of the Columbia River habitat for imperiled Chum Salmon. Wood’s Landing is one of the last remaining natural spawning grounds on the Lower Columbia for endangered Chum Salmon. The spawning grounds welcome over 3,000 Chum salmon each year that return to the springs to spawn and renew life. Columbia Land Trust and Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center are partnered with the owners of Woods Landing to preserve this land in perpetuity for conservation purposes. Many wildlife species live on the property including bald eagles, deer, raccoons, rabbits, beaver, and otter. Bald Eagles can often be spotted in the trees by the beach or in the thick forest by the roadway coming into the property (at the edge of the meadow with tree plantings). This property invites in nature in a purposeful way. You may hear, see and experience all levels of nature at this woodsy retreat!
You will have full access to the main floor of this home. We do have a long-term guest in a completely separate basement entry with a limited side of the house private entry. Full access to Main House and front/side and back yard/deck area. Private access to the River for canoeing or tubing or relaxation.

The view from the house is amazing! We even saw a bald eagle. The hosts were extremely friendly and responsive. The house is very spacious and well supplied. The only draw back is that it is hard to locate, especially in the dark. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!

We’re glad you enjoyed the peaceful setting. Appreciate the kind words!
The house was clean and well-appointed, but it was the views of the Columbia (from the kitchen, dining and living room) that really made the stay magical.
Hard to find, would not have found it without very good directions from owner.Beautiful home, needs better bedroom furniture and some electric work. Several switches go to nothing and one light could not be turned off without unplugging it.

Great Location, needs maintenance and upgrades
Interesting house. Layout is dated and confusing. Power frequently blew lighting, and heaters. It was freezing in the house. furnishings, especially seating was minimal. House needs major work, but it is in a great area. That's why we choose it

Thank you for your feedback. This is indeed an older home, and as with many houses of its era, running multiple oil-filled radiators on the same power strip at the same time can trip the breakers. If the heaters are plugged into the designated outlets where we have them set up, they will operate without tripping power. We’re also considering upgrading the entire HVAC system so this isn’t a concern for guests during the winter months.
We’ve put a lot of care into the furnishings and décor, as well as providing a fully stocked kitchen, so we’re surprised to hear it felt minimal. This home has been successfully operated as a rental for years, and guest comfort is always a priority. We truly value specific feedback—if there are particular items you feel would have improved your stay or areas you think the home needs more of, we’d greatly appreciate you sharing so we can continue to enhance the experience for future guests.
Thank you again for allowing us to host you, we hope you return.
We had a wonderful stay. We loved sitting outside overlooking the river and all the trees made it cool and comfortable even with 90 degree weather! For our group it was especially good to have all the bedrooms on the main level. We will definitely come back! The 10 am checkout was a little early for us but we managed to make it work.

It’s great to hear the outdoor space and main-level bedrooms worked well for your group. We look forward to welcoming you back!
Our family gathered for our younger daughter's wedding in Portland. The weekend was beautiful and our accommodations at the Riverfront Retreat were perfect for our group. The peaceful location and gorgeous views were just what was needed. Our hosts were VERY responsive. We would definitely stay here again - most highly recommended!
Our stay was very comfortable and accommodating for our group of 9. Communication with Jamison was very prompt, helpful and kind. Thank you for hosting our family!
The house was very clean and spacious!! The setting is beautiful with many large windows to enjoy the trees and view of the river. It is easy to get down to the water and a nice beach to enjoy. We enjoyed sitting outside to do much of our visiting. All the rooms of the house were comfortable and well suited for family.
Jamison was a wonderful host--helpful and prompt in replies to our questions. We loved spending time with family here--lots of room to spread out and relax, beautiful river views, cozy living room with lots of windows. The proximity to the river was lovely. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the home was well-stocked with linens. We would stay here again for a peaceful refuge.

Loved the location on the river with a little walk down to the shore. Plenty of room for sleeping and moving about in the dining and living spaces. Gorgeous views. Clean. Heating and electrical dated and confusing. Tenant below was a surprise. Responsive property management.

We’re glad you enjoyed the river views and the space. We do have a long-term guest in a completely separate basement unit with a private side entrance, which is disclosed in the listing description.
I was leading a group of teens at a conference in Vancouver and needed a place to stay. Wood Landing met our needs perfectly. This is a very secluded getaway. The directions to the home from the owner were perfect, but we did miss one turn in looking for the property. Once we took the final right, the parking for the home was clearly marked. The space was clean and charming. We enjoyed the views of the River in the morning although we did not spend much time at the house during the day. The Owners were responsive to our questions. We would stay here again if we find ourselves in Vancouver with a group.

Pretty location but awkward house
This place is right on the river and had lovely scenery. However, the house is very dated with no central heat, thermostats that do nothing and space heaters needed for every room. We blew a fuse trying to heat up the house despite it being early spring. We didn't think it was worth the cost, given the condition of the house, the tenet that we could hear in the basement and the coats we had to wear inside to feel comfortable.

We’re so glad to have hosted you and apologies for the issues with the portable heaters. The house is equipped with central heat, and we’re so sorry we were unaware that you were having issues as we would have been happy to help you navigate the system.
This home was a perfect getaway for our three generation Family Christmas. The layout gave everone space and privacy. The view of the river was fabulous... so serene... we even had a doe visitor every morning. The heating was a little uneven... the spaces with general heat were great... the main house however was a little chilly for us Floridians and the space heaters there couldn't compensate. Not all of the outlets worked and Wi-Fi was very spotty.
Also, although there was absolutely no interference or paths crossed, we were a trifle spooked to discover other residents in the house basement apartment... maybe a heads up would have been appropriate.
We loved staying here. Yes, it is an older home and the layout is sprawling and initially confusing, but honestly quite nice as some bedrooms are further away from the main living area so quiet for sleeping babies or kids! For fellow foodies that actually cook....very well stocked kitchen(s) including a bunch more things than are mentioned in the vrbo description: Blender, hand mixer, Cuisinart food processor, 2 crock pots/slow cookers, three coffee makers, plenty of cutlery, plates, regular beverage glasses, wine glasses, coffee cups, oven trays, casserole dishes w lids and lots of pots n pans (be sure to check both kitchen pantries as things get moved around). There are also some stable dry spices, vinegar and oil. BYO food, special oils, butter and any refrigerator items. There are no disposable things except paper towels (such as foil, zips, plastic wrap, parchment paper etc) which are always awesome gifts to a vrbo. The entire property is on ground level. One bedroom can be closed off with an ensuite bathroom, and the other bedrooms are 2 off to one side and 2 off to the other side that each share a full bathroom. They have complimentary usual toiletries for bathrooms (shampoo, rinse, soap, lotion) and kitchen (dish soap, DW pods, new sponge). For families, there is a staircase that goes downstairs (to an unaccessible separate unit) but a huge hazard for a toddler and you will need a stair gate and bring cable ties to help secure it. Beautiful!

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the layout and that the kitchen and amenities met your expectations — it sounds like your cooking adventures were well-supported! We also appreciate your notes about the bedrooms and family considerations; your insights will be very helpful for future guests traveling with little ones.
We had a great women’s getaway for my group. We got lost. GPS stops you just after the tracks and even the directions the owner gives leaves out that you’ll come to what looks like a private drive with a no trespassing sign but keep going and then the house addresses will make sense. 🙂 there were a few things that had issues but nothing you wouldn’t expect from an old house. We are an older group and wished their were more safety bars in the bathroom or an anti slip mat. Of course there’s never enough kitchen hand towels. And i really thought their would have been more of a yard. Nice out door patio for our gathering. Definitely use caution going down hill to river. Nice boulders to seat and enjoy the sun and water. A great place for a large group of friends. The 10 of us felt like we had lots of room and no one was on top of each other. Exactly what we wanted.

Thank you for staying in our beautiful, spacious home! We were so glad to host your women’s getaway and to hear that it was perfect for your large group of 10. The anti-slip mat for the shower is a great idea, we will most definitely take this into consideration for future stays as well as double checking that there are more than enough kitchen towels for guests moving forward. The yard area is nice and big starting at the patio all the way down to the river although there is a slight hill to get to it which may make it feel like less surface area since it isn’t straight across. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the seating overlooking to water though.
