Perfect position

We absolutely loved this little self-contained cottage. Having stayed in Umina many times, this location was JUST. THE. BEST. Only a short-stroll to Umina's stunning beach and the "good end" of the charming local shops (HINT: life-saving Ruby's bookshop/cafe *just* around the corner) meaning that we only had to take the car out for those rare indoor-mall-bowling type fixes, due to inclement weather. Otherwise, it was park-and-play = our preferred way to unwind. Accommodation-wise, couldn't have faulted a thing. Everything was on-hand in this tidy little 3-bedder incl. the 'necessary' (to our first-world kids' delights) Netflix subscription, full kitchen, laundry, as well as a brand-spanking BBQ on the patio etc. etc. Only slight downside was the lingering presence of cleaners when we appeared at 2:45 for our 2pm check-in. Apparently the earlier guests had refused to leave, making an awkward transfer (STAFF: "could you wait until 3pm??" ME: "*silent disbelief") which wasn't exactly appreciated thanks to a car-full of hot children. Surely, tardy check-outs aren't MY problem??? Explaining this didn't help. And a request for us to check-out late was flatly refused... "Oh no we can't do THAT!" hmmm.... some delicate diplomacy or at least customer-facing empathy would have smoothed over this only qualm I had with an otherwise superb stay. :)
