About this property
Amazing access to everything in this very beautiful and comfortable in town gem
Our house is in a prime location with the beach and town just one short block away so you will be able to walk anywhere you'd want to be in this Pueblo Magico! Public and Private transportation are both available within a five minute walk should you want to leave Sayulita. Come relax in one of our hammocks, soak in the Mexico sun, take a dip in the ocean, go for a surf and follow it up with a sunset stroll down the beach into town for an unforgettable Mexico experience!
Our house was built in 2001, after my aunt and uncle came through Sayulita in 1998 and subsequently built the neighboring house, Villa Casa Barranca. My mom secured the lot next door and designed our house, having made a model using bits of cardboard, glue and paint, which she showed to our new friend, Caliente, a well- respected local Sayulitan who arrived with his family in a dugout canoe in the 1950's. He was recommended as one of the best local alba~niles, or stone masons, and he built both houses. He and his lovely wife Silvia live 3 doors up the street and are our property managers now.
It is important to note that like most homes in the area our house is built with “open air” construction with only the bedrooms being sealed off from the elements. Bug repellents are a must as Sayulita is in the jungle.
Also as a result of our location and open air construction street and town noise is prevalent.
Guests have access to an open floor plan on the first floor with a full kitchen, living room with two built-in couches that double as single beds, dining room, and a full bathroom. The Second floor has a full bathroom and two bedrooms, each with a Mexican matrimonial (almost a Queen) sized mattress and one bedroom with a balcony shaded by two large Parota trees.
Use of the washer/dryer is not available, however there are several fluff and fold options within a couple of blocks.
Our third story is a private space and not accessible.
We are located on the north side of the river adjacent to the baseball field, one short block away from Sayulita Beach and just a few blocks to the Plaza. The house is shaded by two beautiful canopy Parota trees which provide an incredible ambiance to our street. Calle Playa Azul is a thorough fare to the north end of town and the beach so there is a good deal of foot and car traffic. Our house is in town and one should expect the normalcy of being in a lively tourist town in Mexico!
Going out our front door and turning right takes you one block to the middle of the Sayulita beach. Either head to the left, (which seems to the south but it's really west), where you'll find the more lively end, with lots of restaurants and vendors, surfers and bathers or turn right to enjoy the quieter part of the beach.
(See the house notes for recommendations of where to go, eat, rent equipment, or go fishing.)
We are located in town, 4 blocks from the plaza and 1 block to the beach. Everything is within walking distance, but should you chose to get a rental car, street parking is available. Taxi's are a five min walk and public buses are a ten min walk away. Golf carts are available for rental in town. -If looking to book in February please know it is a VERY busy month in town with several big events happening. Our street in particular is taken over by street vendors and a carnival takes place on the baseball field across from us! Please reach out for more info if interested.
