Valley View Lodge is located in beautiful Western Kentucky in prime deer hunting country. However, this cabin was not built for roughing it. It has 2 flat screen tvs, a gas fireplace, a completely equipped electric kitchen, washer, dryer, and a central heat/ac system. There is a large double size garage for storage of vehicles or any other outdoor gear you want to bring. We now have a small lake a stone's throw away from the covered front porch. It is private, yet located just off a state highway and 5 minutes from Providence, KY, the nearest town. It is 25 minutes from Marion, KY, Madisonville, KY and a 20 minute drive to Sturgis, KY home of the West Kentucky bike rally held every July. Also, Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake are a 45 minute car trip away. Closer to home, there is a boat launching ramp on the Tradewater River, a mere 1/4 mile away. Bring your canoe or kayak! Also, the cabin is located within a 20 minute drive of a large Amish community where you can visit the various artisans and roadside markets. There are two bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a queen size bed. The second bedroom has a full over full bunk bed and a twin size trundle bed in it. There is also a full size sleeper sofa in the living room. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo. There is a covered front porch complete with swing and rockers for relaxing and a shaded back yard next to woods. A small lake was recently added with a small wooden dock.

Varey nice property. Clean and quiet atmosphere. My daughter loved the pond and the big comfy couch. Only bad thing is bring bug spray if your going to have a campfire. 10/10.

Thanks for the positive comments. Yes! We have a few bugs since we are near a river and lots of trees! Certain times of the year are worse than others and it happened to be one of those times. Thanks for staying with us!
Very nice place and loved the property around. Was great for seeing deer and walking our dog. We stayed for a month and wish it had been warmer weather but overall had a great stay. Thank you Paula

Yes, the weather is unpredictable this time of year. We had some moderate temps and some extreme weather as well. Thank you for staying with us! We appreciate it.

Thanks for the nice comments! We try! Glad you enjoyed your stay.
My stay here was very enjoyable. The privacy and peacefulness was just what I was looking for. Our communication with Paula throughout the reservation process was efficient and delightful. She was quick to answer any question. I have no doubt I will stay here, again.

Thank you so much for the good review. We look forward to future visits!
We enjoyed our stay. The boys fished every day. The central air went down on July 4th, paula had someone there very quickly to fix it. It was the peace and quite we have been needing. Definitely grateful to Paula and her family.

Didn't want to leave.
Rented the cabin due to closeness of property we were hunting on and was pleasantly surprised on how nice it was. Nice large garage to keep our gear in and all the comforts of home. Was clean and everything was in working order. Nice yard over looking new pond and farm fields. Definitely will be booking when in the area again!

Thanks! We think it's pretty special too! Please visit us again!
Overall, I cannot recommend this VRBO rental in Providence, KY, enough. It is a hidden gem that offers a well-maintained property, stunning scenery, front porch rockers for relaxing, a serene atmosphere, and a spotlessly clean space. The added bonus of the garage is a definite plus. If you're looking for an enjoyable getaway, this is a great choice. Paula was very attentive and provided great communication.
We visited here during Easter weekend with our 99 yo mother. Paula was fantastic with communication. We were able to drive right into the attached garage and off-load without steps. She even shipped a coat back to us that my wife had left! The house was flat, accessible and had everything we needed. We drove past the drive, the first time, but backtracked and found it easily. The pond, view, porch, yard, and firepit were ideal for a spring weekend and would be great to utilize in warmer weather. Our dog enjoyed walking on the road and there was stores open for supplies 3 miles away in Providence. The house was convenient to Paducah and Cave-In-rock state park. Smoked a Ham using the charcoal grill for Easter dinner.
The stars were fantastic and the night so quiet.
This was one of the best VRBO properties that we have stayed in. Thanks!
We loved our stay here due to the location as well as the peace and quiet. It's located far enough off the road you can barely hear the few cars that do go by. Our stay was after the corn fields were harvested allowing for lots of deer watching near sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit but would suggest bringing your own chairs and maybe a little table if you plan on hanging out around there. This trip included Land Between the Lakes and Shawnee National Forest so the cabin was perfectly situated between them. The pull in garage was also a huge bonus for loading and unloading the truck. The owners were friendly and respected our privacy during the stay. Our only interaction with them was the arrival and departure but they mentioned being nearby if we needed anything. The cabin had a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for showers, and reasonably fast internet. The swing on the porch and chairs by the private lake allowed for plenty of outdoor time to just sit and relax while enjoying the tranquility that surrounded us. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again.
This cabin has all the modern amenities while providing a true get away from the busyness of life in a lush, green, quiet, private setting. We'd definitely return.
Things we loved:
* The patio swing with the ceiling fans to keep us cool
* The wifi was great - did a few Zoom calls while there
* The privacy and quiet
* The refrigerator was huge and has a nice ice/water dispenser
* The area has lots of local farms and markets (we were there in the summer). We especially recommend Cardinal Farms tree ripe peaches if you're visiting at the right time (end of July - mid August).
* Having a washer/dryer
* Being able to bring our pets with no extra fee (so rare!)
* Paula was very communicative ahead of time, and we didn't really need anything during our stay.
Things we didn't love:
* We were uncomfortable on the master bedroom mattress and ended up sleeping on the bunk bed.
* The mosquitos at night (we were there in August) were intense, so we were mostly indoors. The fire pit is located in a woodsy area, so it was a non-starter for my husband who is like mosquito bait.
* The blinds are basically see through at night - the place is really private but that sort of thing weirds me out a bit.
Things that might be helpful to know:
* The tap water is great
* We were excited to swim in the pond, but it is very full of nibbly fish.
Highly recommend a stay here!

Thanks for the positive review! Sorry the mattress didn't work out for you. It is a little on the soft side so if you like firm, it won't be comfortable to you. We appreciate the detailed review and we will try to make improvements based on the feedback on those items. Please come back and visit when you can! P.S. The mosquitoes are gone now!
We, like many others, were looking for the vacation to get us off the grid. No place to be at any particular time, family time and more importantly…. Adventure! This was the perfect little home! Offering us more than we expected or could ask for. Even the large “attack” of mosquitoes couldn’t ruin this perfect family getaway!

Thanks for the positive review. The mosquitoes are gone! So glad they didn't ruin your trip. That was a highly unusual event after ten inches of rain in 10 days. Please visit us again!
Paula's cabin is simple & cozy. A very comfortable stay with everything we needed (except salt LOL, which we bought and left for future visitors) 😅 The pond is pretty new so I suggest waiting a few more years if you want to fish but it was still fun catching a few small ones. Paula was very quick to reply with great info when asked! Definitely a great place to stay if you want get away from it all.

Thanks for the positive review. We did have salt the last time I checked! However, thanks for replenishing the supply! The pond was stocked early this Spring so we expect to have a few bigger fish next year hopefully. We are adding largemouth bass to the mix in the Fall. We wanted to give the little guys time to grow before adding more. Thanks for visiting!
Was very pleased with our stay! Beautiful, spacious, and very very peaceful! Had everything we could possibly need and the garage is huge! Quick easy check in and checkout process! Owner was very easy to communicate with and was very understanding when we forgot to leave the key and allowed us to mail it back!

About the host

We acquired this fun property in 2009 from our next door neighbors. Don't worry! You have complete privacy! We are retired and love the farm life and have several horses, rabbits, chickens, and barn cats. There are two granddaughters who keep us on the go. We love our Kentucky home!
Why they chose this property
Beautiful Kentucky river valley with farmland in abundance!
What makes this property unique
Private, rural, yet close to town. Nice yard with a small lake you can see from your covered front porch. We think you will love it!
