About this property
Relax and recharge in this Zen cottage, built for socializing.
Look out into the canopy of oak, pine and poplars from this squared timber cottage on a small, quiet lake 1 hr 15 mins from Ottawa. Large screened-in porch and beautiful view from the main bedroom. 2 bedrooms in the walk-out basement plus 3 single beds in the bunkie space next to the family room. Full bathrooms on each level.
A 36 foot deck spans the front of the chalet with shade in the morning and mottled sunlight in the afternoon. West facing, 12 foot high windows make for beautiful sunsets year round. We are often visited by hummingbirds and woodpeckers.
The cottage sits high on a hill and it is a walk to the waterfront, with a combination of trail and stairs. Once on the lake, there is a large dock, a floating mat, 2 paddleboards, 3 kayaks and a canoe. There are great gravel bike routes and lots of cottage roads for walking/hiking. Once the lake freezes in the winter you can ski or snowshoe and, depending on conditions, we sometimes have a skating rink. Healthy pike and bass populations await the angler.
The cottage is located on a small lake in a quiet cottage community. In keeping with this we are looking to rent to families and small groups of mature individuals who will respect the nature of the lake community. Noise is not tolerated beyond 11 pm. Motorized boats permitted on the lake, but there aren’t very many of them.
We are a dog-friendly family and your furry friends are welcome (though not on the furniture, please).
Level 2 EV charger for electric vehicles.
Bath and beach towels provided, but we ask that you bring your own bed linens.
Check-in after 4 pm on day of arrival
Check-out before 11 am on last day of reservation

About the host
Hosted by Christine McAllister

We built this place as a sanctuary, a place for our kids to come back to as they grow and leave our nest. We are pleased to share it with others and are delighted that we already have had repeat guests after only 2 years of renting.
What makes this property unique
Guests talk about the feeling of calm at our cottage. Whether they came to hang on the dock, gravel ride, or catch up with old friends, they leave feeling zen, having enjoyed the wood stove in the great room, watching birds from the screen house or smores by the fire pit.
