About this property

Bolton Valley 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Cozy Condo with View, on ski/ hiking Trails

The condo is in a multi-unit building steps below Bolton Valley's main ski lodge, and one mile up the road from The Ponds wedding and event facilities. NOTE: we are not affiliated with BV resort; we are in an independently-owned condo association.

SKIING AND HIKING TRAILS are just out the back door; The Quad and other ski lifts just out the front door. But if you prefer to stay inside and enjoy the view from the picture windows, you can hunker down in the cozy living room, where you'll find some cable TV, video/DVD, books, internet, and board games. It is in a quiet part of the resort if you just want to meditate or watch birds in summer; leaves change in fall; or snow piling up to the window. Who knows, a moose might even walk by.

(PLEASE NOTE: Barbecue and grilling near the building are not allowed. No charcoal grills allowed on site. Our place is not suitable for children under 4 years old, due to small game parts, cleaning supplies, bunk beds, two gas fireplaces, etc.. Pets are also not allowed in our unit, sorry!)

If you request to book, please add a little bit of information about your group and why you are coming to Bolton, so that we can make sure our place is a good fit for you. We always remind people that our place is in a different place than Stowe so there are no surprises about the location.

In the interest of everyone's health, please do not check in if you have symptoms like fever, fatigue, short breath, flu. We clean thoroughly between guests and leave the unit empty for 2 days between guests.

SPORTS CENTER is open most months, with heated indoor pool, gym, hot tub, Nordic center-- less than 100 yds away. Pay a family day use fee to BV for the facilities; check the website for prices.

KITCHEN is fully equipped and includes full-size oven, microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, dishwasher, blender.
Basics are found on the shelves (spices, sugar, oil, mustard, pasta, DRIP coffee, tea...) but you can buy groceries in WATERBURY or RICHMOND, Vermont for your particular cooking needs.

RESTAURANTS - If you don't want to cook, the on-site cafeteria has very good prepared soups and sandwiches till the afternoon.
A small grocery has extended hours on site with local beers and wines, snacks, muffins, and such. There are a couple of seasonal restaurants on-site including a family diner-tavern, pizza bar, the Sports Center snack bar, and breakfast dining room open for hours that depend on the season (see BV site for specific hours).
Waterbury and Richmond both have family-friendly restaurants and pubs (either one is 10 miles away).

PHONE, TV, WI-FI: Local landline telephone is in the living room. Wireless internet is included. A selection of cable channels is also available.

ACCESSIBILITY: Condo is at the end of a packed gravel sidewalk and one step to deck, if you park on the side of the building. Not officially accessible for wheelchairs.

LAUNDRY: Coin-op on site; coins available. Apartment-size washer and dryer on site too.

BEDS: Master bedrooms contains a queen-size bed; bunk room has a narrow single bed, and twin bunks. A small trundle bed is available if the top bunk doesn't work for you. Sofa converts to full-size futon.

BEDDING, towels, and "institutional" soap are provided. Bathrooms include 1 tub and 2 showers.
RATES quoted are based on 2 people with a slight increase for up to three extra persons.

---- If you reserve, please note that Vermont's 9% ROOMS TAX will be added in the process, in addition to the base rate and VRBO fees. We are trying to keep cleaning fees low.

Great value

This was a great value, given the mountain proximity and amount of space. Worked well for our family of 5 with kids aged 4-13yo. We especially enjoyed the boot warmer and gas fireplace! Would definitely stay again.

Great location, had everything and Cecilia was great, perfect for any season in BV.

Great spot, lower level with awesome walkout to snow/XC trails. Cozy with views, well appointed and great mud room for hanging all your gear. Can ski down from wilderness lift, and easy walk up and also to the sports complex, would happily stay here again, host was excellent. Great for a family.

Quick Access to Bolton Lodge, Trails

One last weekend on the trails for our family of 5! Kids room had bunk bed and pull out bed, plus a standard twin. Easy access, located right behind Bolton Lodge. Twinkle lights around the fireplace made the space even cozier.

Great place a minute walk to the slopes

Everything about the place was great. The owners gave us clear information and the property was in great shape. It is on the ground floor down a set of stairs. The beds were comfy and the unit plenty warm. There was easy ski storage. We heard people walking above us but it wasn't a big deal. We plan to book this unit again next year.

Great place to crash between events

My husband, 2 young daughters and I stayed in this home during the weekend my sister was getting married at the Ponds (right down the hill). Though we didn't spend too much time in to Condo, we could have! My daughters were thrilled to see stuffies and toys there and they took advantage of having those. I can't speak for the other beds, but the queen bed in the main bedroom was SOOO comfortable. It was also nice to have condiments and other last minute things that can be easily forgotten about.

Great location, comfort, and layout!

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at this well appointed condo. Checkin was a breeze and the owner provided helpful information before and during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and beds were very comfortable. This is a ground level unit so up on the mountain the temperature in the condo stayed quite comfortable despite the heat outside. There were also fans in every room. We enjoyed the many games and Netflix when we had a rainy day. Location was fantastic as it was a short drive to explore Stowe, Waterbury, and Burlington which are some of our favorite VT sites. Also, being able to walk over to the neighboring ski resort restaurant and market for a quick meal when we didn’t feel like cooking was a great convenience. We have family nearby so definitely hope to come back again some time!

Can't Recommend this Place Enough

It was our first time in Bolton Valley, and we had a wonderful vacation. The condo was everything we could have hoped for, and then some. For a family of four, the condo’s layout was perfect. During our 3-night stay, our two children slept in bunk beds in one room and had their own full bathroom; we slept in the master BR, which had its own full bathroom. We cooked all our meals in the condo, and even got fresh food delivered from a local supermarket via Instacart. We spent the evenings playing games, reading or watching Netflix in front of the gas fireplace in the cozy living room. We couldn’t ask for better hosts. Cecilia prepared the condo as well as any owner can: the place was clean, well stocked (kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living room). Cecilia was accessible and easy to communicate with. A truly warm and lovely person, who made us feel at home. Before and during our stay, we received highly detailed instructions about every aspect of the condo. If you’re coming during the winter to ski (as we did), you don’t need to worry about getting to the ski resort. The condo is conveniently located across the road from the hotel and trails. Just walk up to the resort, and ski back straight to the condo. Bottom line: can’t recommend this place enough.

About the host

Hosted by Cecilia Polansky

Host profile image
We reside in Essex Junction, 25 miles from Bolton Valley, but we love the Mountain in all seasons of the year, because we love hiking and cross-country skiing and beautiful scenery and wildlife of Vermont. So when we can, we get up to the mountain and enjoy all it has to offer.
We both got our degrees in forestry and met during Peace Corps years in West Africa.
John is finally retired from project management duties and Ceece is not far behind.
Our children are all in their 30s and 40s now. We spend time volunteering at the church and for various events and causes, enjoy bike rides and hikes, and try to maintain our creative sides in between chores.

Why they chose this property

Anyone who loves forest scenery and mountains, sunsets over Vermont's Long Trail, the cleansing effect of a snow blanket, or fall colors will find this place calming and spiritually restorative. The convenience of being so close to the ski slopes is quite a plus. Children and adults enjoy playing board games, watching TV, getting outside, hiking, visiting the sports center to swim or use gym features, play pickleball, and just being at a higher elevation with expansive views.

What makes this property unique

Our propane-fired fireplace looks like a real wood-burning one. The winter feels toasty with the two gas heaters and backup electric baseboards throughout. We recently updated the floors and carpet, as well as light fixtures.
Walk up the stairs and you are close to the base lodge and restaurants; walk out the sliding glass door and you are practically on the nordic ski trails.
