Turn off your phone and unwind on the porch with a beverage while watching birds and distant grazing cattle. Mulberry cottage has a pond view and is situated on a 200 acre working cattle ranch divided by a wading creek and hiking trails. You are shaded by Mulberry and Osage Orange trees, host to frequent birdlife. We love the solitude and rest here on the farm, while still enjoying a short drive to town. Tiny house retreat.
I only got three days for my vacation this year and really wanted something different. This little cottage is truly a solitary getaway - and yet, in the midst of a working farm!! It is brand new and set up for every convenience. The sourdough bread and farm-fresh eggs were such a great extra and SO good!! We were blessed with a spectacular sunset (pretty sure that was not included in the extras) and the weather cooperated for a memorable stay. The roosters greeted the morning but were far enough away that they didn't intrude on sleep. The stars were very visible and the campfire, right out front of the cabin, allowed us to watch them come out on a chilly evening. When the far off coyotes started dueling from two different locations, I got tingles! I would recommend this cottage to couples and small families. The main bed is just a double and I found myself wanting to climb the ladder to tuck into the twin beds in the loft. Alas, at my 60+ years, I might get up and not be able to return to the main floor. The farm also offered organic beef but I forgot to buy some before we headed home. Milo and Indianola have eclectic eateries (check out BOTH ice cream shops in Indianola!! Goat's Milk and Roasted Cherry ice cream - SO MANY CHERRIES!! We hope to return some day with more time to enjoy the farm.

Our unique lifestyle is something we treasure and want to share with you! Agritourism is where agriculture and tourism meet to provide you with an amazing educational experience with a tour of our ranch, visiting our local Indianola Farmers Market or teaching you how to bottle-feed a baby calf. Farmers and ranchers like us have turned our land into a destination playground for hunters, birdwatchers, and nature-lovers in order to add value to our beef business and teach about what we do, and where food comes from. As cattle producers, we have great pleasure welcoming school, community and families for hay-rides, tours, and farm feasts.
