About this property

5 Bedroom House on Pambula Beach

The River Mouth Beach House Pambula Beach. A beautifully appointed 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom House right on the river mouth in Pambula Beach, NSW, Australia. Until recently this little bit of paradise was our family home, we hope you love your stay here as much as we loved living here.

This property and surrounding land, including the beach at the front, has been in the family since the 1950's.
In the early 1930's my Mother, Dawn, moved with her family to the little hut with the veranda located on the beach at the front of this house. Hard to believe but her entire family of 5 lived there.
In the early 1950's Dawn's brother Ken purchased the land, and built a cottage where he lived until his passing in the early 2000's. Uncle Ken was a local deep-sea trawler fisherman and a bit of a character, he despised wearing shoes and was often seen walking into Pambula in just his bare feet, even in the coldest of frosty winters. He made his living from the sea and was often seen mending his fishing nets on the rocks below the house at low tide, with his beloved trawlers moored at the jetty beside.
In 2007 Uncle Ken's fibro cottage was pulled down to make way for the new Duplex homes here today.

You will notice touches of our family fishing heritage throughout the house -the island bench and dining table is made from the original Uncle Ken's Cottage house timbers, and his 60-70 year old fishing poles hang from the dining and kitchen ceilings as unique chandeliers. The main living room entertainment unit is made from pieces of a shipwreck from 70 years ago, the timber would come up in Ken's nets and he stored it away 'for a rainy day'.
The beach hut is one of the most painted icons for this part of the coast and has been the backdrop for numerous beach weddings and family photography shoots over the years. It is now used for picnics and shade on sunny days by our guests and family.
Dawn, now 85, lives downstairs with her dog Bonnie. There is no shared access between the residences; a simple smile and a wave when you arrive will let them her know you are there. Dawn lives quietly and enjoys her privacy and will equally respect yours.

Amenities include: Air Conditioner, Bedding/linens, Internet, Kitchen, Laundry, Parking, Tv, Stunning View, Wheelchair Accessible

We provide sea and sports equipment for your personal use. Please ensure equipment from the house stays within your sight and under your direct supervision.
The 2 person "Cuttlefish" kayak can be heavy so please use the trolley to and from the beach. The 1 person kayak is ideal for fishing with a rod holder and seat (provided).
There is a SUP board (Stand up paddle board) for guest use, please be careful with it as it is high quality carbon fibre and rocks will damage it.
