About this property
Casa Beaufort~eco home, massage, baths & bush views
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway with both indoor hot tub and a spacious soaking bath. The 7 star energy rated home is passive in design, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Relax with a coffee in the zero gravity massage chair and take in the stunning views of Beaufort and the bush behind the property. Explore the trails of Camp Hill and beyond. A stones throw from the train station, on the Melbourne line. Beaufort has great cafes and is within the renowned Pyrenees wine region.
The space
The home is on the southern face of Camp Hill with bush trails accessible via a pedestrian gate at the rear of the property.
The house is thoughtfully decorated with art I have collected from across Australia and the world and includes many vintage furnishings.
There are 3 bedrooms-
1) Master bedroom with king size bed, television with chromecast and ensuite including toilet, basin, shower and hot tub.
2) Guest bedroom with king bed and vintage peacock chair
3) Guest bedroom with queen bed and dedicated workspace (including electric stand up desk)
The guest bedrooms have use of the main bathroom which includes spacious soaking tub, basin, shower and separate toilet
The large kitchen overlooks the views to the south and the township of Beaufort, you can watch the train coming and going with Yam Holes Creek in between. There is a separate butlers pantry which features snacks for your enjoyment, touch screen espresso coffee machine, 4 slice toaster, kettle and dishwasher. In the kitchen there is a soda stream, small appliances and picnic hamper and picnic rug available for your use. There is a European laundry located in the kitchen with a front loading washing machine, dryer and a clothes horse. Cleaning implements including mops and brooms are also located here.
The living area looks to the north of the property with stunning views of the bush. You can watch an ever changing array of wildlife including rosellas, magpies, fire tails and kangaroos, there are binoculars underneath the coffee table for your use. This area features a dining table, reading corner with massage chair well appointed bookcase and a spacious leather couch. There is a smart television, nintendo wii and a DVD player with an assortment of DVDs. Underneath the coffee table are some games and magazines. In front of the television is a sound bar that you can connect to via Bluetooth for playing music. There is a nook which contains the wifi modem and blankets. You are welcome to use the telescope to look at the stars outside please clean and return it to next to the tree lamp.
The outside of the the property features an outdoor dining area at the back and a hammock area at the front. One of the kitchen windows opens fully on gas struts to serve drinks and food from the kitchen to the front of the house.
There are various edible plants and herbs in the garden including kale, mint, sage, rosemary, parsley, spring onion and berries. Please help yourself without over harvesting the plants.
At the rear of the property is a hills hoist clothes line (pegs can be found in the laundry) a fire pit area with two bench seats and the outdoor hot tub that is heated by a thermosiphon. The gardens are illuminated at night by solar lights.
PLEASE NOTE the outdoor bath is not a spa, it is an outdoor soaking tub heated by a thermosiphon. You will need to bring firewood with you to heat this bath. Heating times are weather dependent but vary from 1.5-3.5 hours
Guest access
PLEASE NOTE THE DRIVEWAY IS QUITE STEEP.
There is parking for one vehicle under cover in the garage. However I recommend parking on the flat near the tank and on the driveway if you are not a confident driver.
To access the trails in the public land at the rear of the property the gate code is 2010.
