"Straight out of a storybook! Such a special place. Full of character and history. Great location--private and quiet but close to lots of activites."

"We loved our second stay at Marilyn's beautiful cottage. It is such a peaceful place. The cottage itself is so charming and well taken car of. We beachcombed every day, climbed on the rocks, spent time at New River Beach with its famous Bay of Fundy tides. Marilyn let us know of a few local events happening which we really appreciated. Just a perfect, restful vacation spot for nature lovers."

"Such a special cottage and place. The location couldn't be more wonderful. Lots to explore and thoughtful spaces for relaxing. The cottage is comfortable and well-equipped."

"Once again we were very happy with our stay at this charming cottage. It is so well equipped. We were thrilled with the beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the deck or secret lookouts. I love watching the changing tides roll in and out...searching for seaglass on the beach, exploring Crow Island and the trail to the lighthouse. We also got to enjoy the annual Sand Castle Sculpting Contest at New River Beach, a trip to St. Andrews and Mackay's Blueberries for homemade blueberry ice cream sundaes and pies. "

Magical cabin in Chance Harbour

Our stay was absolutely private and super peaceful. Our wonderful host was nearby but did not interfere with our stay at all. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was heavenly, the daily visits from deer, and the charming, authentic cabin was marvellous. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Marilyn! We may be in touch in January :)

Epic views, historic feel

This place is like walking into history. The property has been in the owner, Marilyn's family since before WW2 with the cottage being built during the war. It's filled with antiques & decorated to preserve that nostalgia that old cottages have. The views are incredible, you can see the bay from practically every window. While we were there, we experienced a pretty broad spectrum of weather and found this a great spot to be for all of it. Hanging out on either of the decks(cottage or waterfront) was amazing in the sunshine, but so was sitting in the window seat by the fire looking out at the misty bay with waves crashing on the rocks. Marilyn is a very gracious hostess & made us feel very welcome. We really appreciate her willingness to share this amazingly beautiful piece of her family's history with us.

Marilyn is the BEST host we've ever stayed with, and the property exceeded our expectations. It is wonderful in itself, as well as being perfectly situated for exploring up and down the coast. Those seeking a beautiful and private oceanfront stay that truly feels and functions like "home" could not find a better option. We especially appreciated the overall immaculate state of the cottage interior; the laundry; full kitchen; comfortable mattresses and linens; woodstove; TV with streaming services; the deck, fire pit, and other other outdoor spaces; and all the personal touches that so strongly connect this little place to the history and character of its locale. The outdoor setting is spectacular: ocean on three sides, pine forest, and two islands (Crow Island directly across, another down the road) one can walk to and explore at low tides. Our stay coincided with predominantly cool, foggy days. It didn't matter! We were never at a loss for things to observe and do in such a rich environment. Communication and check-in/out were seamless, and Marilyn, aside from just being a delightful human being, was a wellspring of information on all subjects (local attractions, dining, etc.). If you want to cook a lobster dinner for a fraction of what you'd pay at a restaurant, be sure to ask Marilyn if she can access her local connections! We cannot wait to return, and strongly recommend the seaside cottage. It was easy to love, and very hard to leave.
