“Spruced Up” cabin offers 3 bedrooms, 3 bathroom, hot tub, privacy/seclusion located in Alleghany County, sleeps maximum 6 guests, WIFI, AC, 1 wood burning fireplace and 1 gas fireplace (seasonal) and is located just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Doughton Park. If you’re looking for privacy, comfort, and want to get away from all of the hustle and bustle of life, THIS is the one you’ve been looking for. Escape to our little piece of mountain heaven! Sorry, but no pets allowed. Winter travelers should prepare with 4-wheel drive and tire chains during inclement weather.

Doughton Park offers hiking trails, Bluff Restaurant, picnic area, Doughton Park Visitor Center and Park Store and historic Brinegar Cabin. Doughton Park Visitor Center is located at milepost 241.1 off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The park has more than 30 miles of hiking trails that meander through the park’s pastures and along its streams. Hikers may encounter 25 stream crossings through ankle to knee-deep water.

Main Floor: On the main floor, you have the cozy living room with a wood burning fireplace (seasonal), Roku TV, dining area and our fully stocked kitchen with a regular coffee maker, microwave, Jenn-Air gas stove with 4 burners, air fryer, and more! Please note, there is not a dishwasher.

The master suite offers a king size bedroom that boasts a separate sitting area with Roku TV. The bedroom has its own private bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

The 2nd bedroom is on the main floor that offers a queen size bed. Just outside of the bedroom door is a full bathroom with tub/shower combo on this floor.

The laundry room with a full size washer and dryer is on the main floor as well.

Upper Level: The third private bedroom is upstairs offers a queen bed and a full bathroom with tub/shower combo.

Lower Level: Travel downstairs, you’ll find the family room with a Roku TV, gas fireplace (seasonal), sitting area with a couch and loveseat, treadmill, board games and access to the lower level area exterior for the hot tub, gas grill and picnic area.

Outside: Sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of Mother Nature on our side deck with plenty of seating. The 5 person hot tub, gas grill and picnic table is located on the lower level of the property. There is room to roam around outside and listen to the sounds of Mother Nature with privacy and seclusion.

“Spruced Up” is about a 6-7 minute drive to Freeborne’s Restaurant (open Thursday through Saturday) just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. They have over 485 Google great reviews. They offer appetizers, Quesadillas, tasty and juicy burgers, awesome specialty sandwiches, wings, pasta, entrees, and lip smacking desserts! This is a MUST go to place to eat while visiting our cabin.

The town of West Jefferson is approximately a 35 minute drive from our cabin. Zaloo’s Kayak and Fly Shop is less than 25 minutes away.

The quaint town of Sparta, NC is about a 25 minute drive away. Boone, NC is approximately an hour east. Wilkesboro, NC is a 40 minute drive away. Grayson Highland State Park is a 50 minute drive. Winter travelers should prepare with 4-wheel drive and tire chains during inclement weather.

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow, and some foggy days with occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is YOUR responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.

Great getaway
The cabin is very spacious and setup well. The hot tub was clean and ready to use upon arrival. Stacey made sure I had everything I needed before I arrived. I will definitely stay again but I will book through their website instead of giving VRBO some of my money.
