About this property

Woolshed conversion

This unique & beautifully converted Woolshed, set on hundreds of acres of spectacular countryside in the divine Mudgee region, is the perfect country escape for those looking for a complete change of scenery.

Privately situated on a working property, this place needs to be seen to be believed. The woolshed has been tastefully decorated & thoughtfully planned for the ultimate guest retreat.

If you're searching for serenity or a place to bring the kids and enjoy the countryside, this is it.
The space
From the moment you walk in the door, you will be overawed at the design and creativity that has turned this century-old woolshed into your new home away from home. You will find pieces of this farm's history throughout as we have lovingly restored and incorporated machine parts, metal piping, timber and unique furnishings to give our guests a sense of comfort and an appreciation of days gone by.

You might first notice how inviting the woolshed is, the openness and the separation of gathering spaces. Maybe you'll love the stained glass windows and the mesmerising views of the mountains and grazing land, with frolicking goats and cattle. Most guests are amazed at the flooring, which you have to see for yourself.

The woolshed easily accommodates up to 6 guests, with 3 bedrooms and a generously sized living area designed with relaxation and cosiness in mind. In Winter, we ensure the fire is burning when you arrive and it heats up the entire cottage.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-size fridge, cooking utensils and appliances. The bathroom is impressively designed with toilet, walk-in shower and rainshower head, utilising metal items from the property for the towel rail and showerhead.

Entertaining areas abound, with lounges and seating designed with gatherings in mind. There is a TV with Chromecast, Wifi and boardgames. We have carefully chosen lamps and lighting that complements each area throughout the cottage.

The outdoor patio has a large hand-created wooden table, gas BBQ and exceptional views of the mountains. Outside the fire pit is the perfect place to sit and enjoy social time with friends and family on the cooler nights.
Guest access
The woolshed is for your exclusive and private use. You have your own entry to the property and driveway with parking right next to the cottage.

For 1-2 guests, you will enjoy the main bedroom. For 3-6 guests, we will have the other 2 bedrooms available.

This is a working property and the farm animals will likely visit you during your stay. At times, we might need to access the outside areas near the woolshed only.

We fully respect our guests privacy. However we are happy to have a chat with our guests and provide information about the woolshed. We can show you where the walking trails are and share the joy of feeding time with the animals.
Other things to note
Our guests love the peace and quiet of a property which is a good distance from town. We recommend you bring groceries and items you will need, because once you arrive and start to wind down, you will not want to leave.

Our property is hundreds of acres and you can explore the walking trails as you wish. Ideal for bushwalkers and explorers of all ages. There is so much space and fresh air, the kids can enjoy the outdoors while you spend your time relaxing or adventuring with them.

The water to the woolshed is supplied by the rain. It is collected in adjoining tanks and we ask you to be very mindful of water usage.

During the warmer months, we advise our guests to be mindful of snakes if they go walking on the trails. Always carry a large stick with you, make noise as you walk and avoid any animals you might encounter.

We have provided a First Aid kit in the cottage should you need it.

Spontaneous rural getaway
What more can we say than absolutely breathtaking!!! From the moment of arrival right through to our departure, our hosts Karen and Darren made sure our stay was one to be remembered. They were truly hospitable and made you feel like family. Burra Murra Woolshed Conversion is definitely the place you want to be when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life-from the hands on interactions with the farm animals and wildlife, to the bush walking tracks available, right through to the campfire with bean bags and blankets. The Woolshed conversion was a home away from home, where every single piece of furniture or ornament told a story, making its property something memorable. Every aspect of our stay was thought of with bread, water, tea, coffee, sugar, eggs, condiments, soap, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer which was an extra luxury we had no experienced before. We cannot wait return to the Woolshed and look forward to planning out next trip very soon :)
