The home was so comfortable and the owner decorated it so nicely for the holidays. It truly is a one of a kind place and the location could not have been better. We would stay there again if we were in the area.

Two Month Fall Stay

Our stay at the Cottage was very pleasant and just what we needed. Our hosts, Loretta and Mark, were terrific and were always available. Since we knew the area well, it was easy for us to get around and we felt at home staying in the Cottage.

Great secluded property, you do share a courtyard and some outdoor space but it was not an issue. Close to so many things. Awesome history. Close to some of the filming locations for the Sopranos, Real Housewives of New Jersey and Cake Boss. We went on a little self guided drive and saw so many things. Loved the area. The house was great and cozy. Pet friendly. I had a great time and so did my husband and 4 kids(and dog). We went to the Dream Mall and also we went to visit NYC also. 100 percent recomend.

Location Location Location

This property is in an ideal location. It's a short ride from Newark airport. It was the perfect size and space for us to stay while we were in town for a wedding. Plenty of parking and it felt very safe and secure. The host was wonderful and recommended an Italian restaurant across the street that was terrific! This was a win!

Historic Comfort

This historic home is a terrific find. It is very clean , beautifully decorated, and set on a lovely, large piece of property. The description Mark wrote on VRBO is spot on. The house is centrally located. Restaurants, shops, library and the bus to New York are all within walking distance. This stay made a business trip to the area so much more enjoyable than a hotel would have been!!

Cozy and quiet place.

The cottage was clean and cozy. I did not do any cooking in the kitchen, it could definitely use a remodel. The bedroom were very comfortable and clean. It was just myself and my dog, so perfect for the two of us, but definitely room for more. The area was very nice to explore and everything was accessible. The owners were easy to reach. Overall a good place to stay.

My two brothers and I stayed here. The house is cosy and there's plenty of room. Communication with our hosts was easy and we had everything we needed. Two things to know are that the stairs are steep and the twin bed is better for kids or someone 5'7" or under -- which I am so I got that room. The outside area looked nice and I can imagine it would be great to have in the spring or summer. Another plus was the water dispenser on the fridge. The beds were comfy and the rooms are all a good size, even the smallest bedroom. Would stay here again.

Return visit

My husband and I returned to this lovely property having stayed here for a week last month. Returning, after weeks of travel we felt like we were coming home. It is such a comfortable, well-appointed, charming house, with plenty of room to spread out and we really enjoyed the W Caldwell area with its great restaurants, great shopping nearby and every possible amenity. It is also an easy shot via I 80 into NYC. Our hosts were so helpful and made our stay a pleasure. We are back in Nov and looking forward!

Thank you. We welcome you back. English Translation of review via google translate: We felt very comfortable in the comfortably furnished cottage. The four of us had enough space to have a relaxed vacation. There are three residential buildings and a shed on the large property. Thanks to the many trees and green plants, everything looks very harmonious. The nice landlords Marc and his wife live in the main house at the front and respect the guests" privacy. We were given good tips for excursions, restaurants, etc. Although we live quietly and almost self-sufficiently, all shops for our daily needs are within walking distance. We were also happy to visit the pizzeria opposite. Delicious pasta and pizzas, friendly service. We would rent the cottage again.

Comfortable and convenient and terrific family time

Hosts were welcoming and helpful. Easy and smooth check in and check out with all necessary information. Our family of five adults plus well behaved dogs enjoyed a comfortable stay. A home away from home! The location was convenient to many local activities and we would definitely stay again. Thank you Mark and Loretta !

Relaxing stay in W Caldwell

My husband and I had a thoroughly relaxing and comfortable stay in Crane’s Cottage. The cottage was charmingly decorated, well appointed and equipped, spacious, conveniently located to all amenities and spotlessly clean. We look forward to returning.
