About this property
Lupinfield Cottage - a Curated Guesthouse Experience
Welcome to Lupinfield Cottage, a place and space which steps you back in time. This historic 4 bedroom vacation home in picturesque Twillingate, nestled on the bay is cozy and charming with uniquely designed living spaces indoors and out. Ideal for couples & families, this home features a wood burning stove, soaker clawfoot tub, 2 bathrooms, laundry and plenty of room to enjoy.
To fully experience the magic of Lupinfield Cottage and Twillingate combined, we offer a minimum stay of 3 nights.
Lupinfield Cottage offers you a unique Newfoundland experience with a curated vintage vibe. The home has lots of natural light which dances through the windows with wavy antique glass, passing from room to room throughout the day. As daylight fades, the cottage becomes softly illuminated with the warmth of vintage lighting and candlelight (if you wish) throughout.
The heart of the home is the kitchen, which welcomes you with a spacious open layout and a large kitchen table. Gatherings are cozy in this space, enjoy the the warmth of a crackling fire in the woodstove. Perfect for our grey foggy days. A charming galley kitchen, affectionately dubbed “the Butler’s Pantry”, is stocked with an array of spices and the basics that you might need to for preparing a meal cooked at home.
Upstairs you’ll find the 4 unique bedrooms, with 2 queen and 2 double-sized beds. Each bed is outfitted with comfortable mattresses, pillows and clothesline fresh linens. Perfect for a greatnight's sleep.
Outside, the cottage gardens bloom continuously and are all yours to enjoy. The front porch and a dining patio in the side yard allows you to catch sunshine while enjoying a meal outdoors.
Lupinfield sits beside an active working fishing harbour. Alive with Newfoundland’s fishing heritage. Watch the boats come and go with the tides, while the fishermen land their catch of cod. It is an authentic glimpse of the life and culture that shaped this island.
Tucked behind the house in the backyard is a wooden yoga platform, also yours to enjoy. A meandering trail cut through the lupin fields and wild berries makes the perfect spot for a game of tag or hide & seek!
Across the road is a rocky beach perfect for beach combing and cook dips on hot summer days. In the old sheep shed is “Charlie’s Prop Shop” a pop-up antique shop which I occasionally open to the public and is also yours to snoop through, if you wish!
For guests with travellers taller than 6 feet... just a heads-up... Lupinfield Cottage retains most of its original 19th century architecture. Including lower ceiling heights with a minimum height of 7’ in some rooms.
Also notable are the original 19th century wood windows. While one or two of them may get cranky with the changing weather, all work wonderfully and have been fully restored. In the cooler seasons (Spring & Fall) antique glass storm windows are installed overtop of the window sashes which have small ventilation flaps for fresh air intake.
Parking for your car is in the driveway on the right hand side of the house, beside the root cellar. If you have a second or third car joining, additional parking spaces are available.
Lupinfield Cottage is a registered accommodations business with the Town of Twillingate and the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. Our Registration Number is 4523.

Farmer's Arm Road is one of the gems of this town, where you can walk the street along the coastline and feel like you've been transported to another time. Colourful houses, beaches, gardens and fences make this a photographer's dream come true. The neighbours you'll meet are lovely, one of them is an active marina where you can watch the boats come and go.
Famous for its reputation of being the 'Iceberg Capital of the World'. As early as April to June, these massive ice sculptures literally drift in and around Iceberg Alley.
Twillingate has an impressive coastal hiking trail, very well maintained and known as the Rockcut Trails - something that you'll want to pack your hiking boots for. They feature over 25kms of trails which literally take you all around Twillingate's southern and northern islands. Here we love hiking and there's a trail for absolutely everyone's level.
