Liked: Amenities
Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
The house was not very clean many stains to carpet and couches kitchen sink was clogged it was bubbling really nasty greasy looking substance and one toilet seat was broken
When we tried to communicate that to the owners there’s was no response at all.
As advertised - we enjoyed our stay, but could improve
The advertisement says this is not a fully renovated property. It is not. The house is spacious and has a wonderful pier and view out the back. There is a lot of construction going on at the interstate which is immediately in front of the property. This did not disturb us, just a little crazy getting to through the detours, but should be temporary.
As for some info I would think could improve the property with little cost...
- the property sleeps like 9 people, you should have dishes and silverware for at least 9 people
- this is pet friendly, which is great. A trick to keep the "smells" away, air purifier while the property is being cleaned.
- could benefit from a dehumidifier
- put some hooks in the bathrooms
- there was not enough seating in large living room for us to visit with each other, sofas are not facing each other
- replace door soon and warn that knob is too close to door, 2 people lost skin on knuckles going in and out
Place was clean and host communication was very good.
Trying to get someone from RedAwning to respond was incredibly difficult. I did not get a code to get into the rental. I sent a text 2 hours before check that I needed a code. Once I arrived at the rental, I was on the phone for 30 minutes, texting, emailing and calling. I finally got someone from VRBO to give me a code. The lady was very professional and pleasant. I did ger a text later from RedAwning with a different code. The house had black mold. The dishwaher had melted parts inside, the gas stove didn't have all the burners working. The floor near the front door was about to cave in. We had to shovel the snow off the steps, sidewalk and pier. The seagulls on the pier were so bad and the poop was everywhere. I could go on and on. I took pictures so I have proof. We should get a partical refund but we will see. VRBO is good but beware of RedAwning.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are deeply sorry for the challenges you faced with the check-in process and the condition of the property. Your feedback is critical in helping us improve our services. We are addressing these issues with the property management team to ensure they are resolved promptly. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
I have traveled the world, and this was one of my worst stays ever. It was so cold (the heat did not work) that we had to sleep in our coats. Just about every room is under some type of repair with holes in the walls, cracks, missing tiles, etc. Outdated and heavy worn furniture. Most of the outlets would not hold a plug so they were useless. Two of the stove burners did not work. The icemaker did not work. There was a constant beeping sound that we could not locate, which was very annoying. Even the toilet paper was sitting on the floor because there were no toilet paper holders. We asked if we could check in a couple hours early because of travel, and they wanted to charge us a greedy 85 extra.Yet they don’t feel that they owe their guests, the courtesy of heat in the winter. And they obviously knew that the heat didn’t work because they had a portable heater in the unit. Nothing like paying premium dollars for a portable heater that barely heats a single room, much less an entire house. The view was gorgeous and the bed was comfortable - The only positives that I can say.Right on a major highway with major construction. Very loud and noisy.SAVE YOUR MONEY - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. It is our priority to ensure that our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. As a world traveler, we are a bit surprised that you felt the heat should be able to keep up with 3 windows open to accommodate the smokers in your group, even though smoking is not allowed. Yes, to prepare the home for your early arrival, there is an extra charge as an additional cleaner would be needed for this larger home. The $75 fee is passed along if you need this additional service. It is a shame that you did not contact the host so that we could have advised that closing the windows would assist in warming the home. Perhaps, if your group were not smoking in our property, you would have contacted us?
