About this property
Peaceful Historic 3 Bedroom hideaway, Walkable to Calgary's Greatest Attractions
The Historical Cinnamon House is peaceful & quiet while being just a ten-minute walk to the Calgary Stampede grounds, the Saddledome, Calgary Zoo and the trendy shopping district of Inglewood. Originally built in 1912 as a CN Rail crew house and then fully renovated in 2008 , this 1452sqft Edwardian two-story home has three bedrooms, two and a half baths, and all the modern conveniences. It boasts an amazing location in the heart of Ramsay with many adventures at your doorstep.
The second half of the duplex is occupied by the Host family.
The space
The cozy living room has a bay window with a great view of evening skies. The open concept floorplan connects the dining room to the kitchen and half bath on the south side of the property.
The original staircase leads upstairs to three bedrooms, full bathroom, and full bathroom for the master bedroom. The master bedroom with king-size bed and private bathroom are on the north end of the home. The middle bedroom has a king bed and east-facing window. The south side bedroom also has a luxurious king-sized bed. At the south end of the hallway is a full bathroom with bathtub and shower.
The second half of the house is occupied by the Hosts.
The basement of the property has a washer & dryer room available for guest use.
*Guest access*
Keyless front door for entry.
Full access to entire main and upper floor & laundry room.
Basement has a portion locked off for host storage.
*Other things to note*
The Original staircase is lovely, but some may find that it is a challenge to go up & down the 14 steps.
There is no Backyard access as we are building a garage in the back and it is currently considered a construction zone, Work will be halted/minimized during your stay.
Ramsay and Inglewood are the first settlements in Calgary in the early 1900’s with many historical homes surrounding The Cinnamon house.
Along the nearby rivers there are many walking/biking trails
Parking is entirely free on the street out front of the house.
Bus #17 stops about every 30 min just two blocks to the west on spiller Street
*Neighborhood description*
Ramsay is a vibrant neighborhood in Calgary's inner city, a charming mature community that is walking distance to the Calgary Stampede grounds including the Saddle dome, up Scotsman's Hill, downtown Calgary, Fort Calgary, East Village, the Calgary Zoo, river pathway and more.
In addition to easy access to the neighboring community of Inglewood, Ramsay has its own selection of local businesses such as Cafe Rosso, Dandy Brewing, and The Great Canadian Coffee Company.
A quick walk south will also bring you to the Crossroads Market, a unique collection of fresh foods, specialty shops, antiques and collectibles, and seasonal outdoor events.
*Getting around*
The property is a 10 minute walk to the east entrance of the Calgary Stampede grounds, 10 minute walk to Fort Calgary, 5 minute walk to Inglewood, and 20 minute walk to the south entrance of the Calgary Zoo.
Ramsay is also great for cyclists, with quick access to the Calgary pathways network. Seasonally there are rentable scooters throughout downtown Calgary can often be found near the entrances to the community.
We are here for you during your stay at The Cinnamon House, but our level of interaction is up to you.
We are only a phone-call/text away. You will be able to self-check-in and out upon arrival and departure.
We have been hosting many locals but are now making the space available to others to enjoy.
We are currently working on a blog on our website that will offer local recommendations at www.cinnanmonhousecalgary.com
